1 Al maestro di coro. Secondo "La morte del figlio". Salmo. Di Davide.	1 [For the choirmaster On oboe and harp Psalm Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with my whole heart, Irecount al your wonders,
2 Ti voglio lodare, o Signore, con tutto il mio cuore; voglio cantare tutte le tue gesta;	2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.
3 voglio rallegrarmi ed esultare; voglio cantare il tuo nome, o Eccelso.	3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,
4 Sconfitti, i miei nemici inciampavano e si dileguavano dal tuo cospetto.	4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.
5 Poiché hai preso la mia causa e il mio giudizio; ti sei assiso sul tuo trono, tu, giusto giudice.	5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;
6 Hai minacciato le genti, hai annientato gli empi, cancellando il loro nome in eterno e per sempre.	6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,
7 Sono periti i miei nemici, rovine sempiterne sono diventate le città che hai raso al suolo.	7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;
8 Ecco: il Signore, che siede per sempre, per il giudizio ha eretto il suo trono.	8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.
9 E' lui che giudica il mondo con giustizia, che governa i popoli con equità.	9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!
10 Una rocca sia il Signore per l'oppresso, una rocca in tempi d'angustia;	10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.
11 si rifugino in te quanti conoscono il tuo nome. Poiché non hai mai abbandonato, o Signore, coloro che ti cercano.	11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,
12 Cantate al Signore che dimora in Sion, fra i popoli annunziate le sue gesta;	12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
13 poiché ha cura di quelli che piangono, si ricorda del loro lamento, non dimentica il grido dei miseri.	13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,
14 Il Signore ha avuto pietà di me, il suo sguardo ha rivolto sulla mia afflizione, che mi hanno inflitto quelli che mi odiano; egli mi strappa dalle porte della morte.	14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.
15 Per questo narrerò tutte le sue lodi alle porte della figlia di Sion. Per questo esulterò della tua salvezza.	15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.
16 Sprofondarono le genti nella fossa che fecero, nella rete che tesero s'impigliò il loro piede.	16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause
17 Si rese noto il Signore per il giudizio che egli fece, nell'operato delle sue mani incappò il malvagio.	17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.
18 Scendano i malvagi negli inferi, tutte le genti dimentiche di Dio.	18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.
19 Poiché non si scorda del misero per sempre, non perisce in eterno l'attesa dei poveri.	19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.
20 Sorgi, o Signore, perché l'uomo non si esalti; al tuo cospetto siano giudicate le genti.	20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause
21 Il tuo terrore, o Signore, poni su di loro. Sappiano le genti che sono esseri umani.
