BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 - Ma Giobbe rispose e disse:	1 Then Job answered and said,
2 «Fino a quando affliggerete l'anima mia, e mi opprimerete con discorsi?	2 How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 Son già dieci volte che voi m'ingiuriate, e non vi vergognate di maltrattarmi.	3 These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
4 Eppure, quand'anche io fossi in ignoranza, presso di me rimarrebbe l'ignoranza mia.	4 And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 Voi invece contro me v'insuperbite e mi rimproverate a motivo dei miei obbrobrii;	5 If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 ebbene sappiate che Dio non mi affligge con giudizio giusto, sì da ricingermi con i suoi flagelli.	6 Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
7 Ecco, io grido soffrendo violenza, ma nessuno m'ascolta, alzo le strida, ma nessuno fa giustizia.	7 Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 Il mio sentiero [Dio] ha sbarrato, sì che non passo, e sulla mia strada ha posto le tenebre.	8 He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
9 Dell'onor mio egli mi ha spogliato, e mi tolse la corona dalla testa.	9 He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Da ogni parte mi ha demolito, ed io perisco, la mia speranza ha distrutto come ad albero sradicato.	10 He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
11 Divampò contro me la sua collera, mi ha considerato qual nemico suo.	11 He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
12 Tutte irruppero le sue torme, apparecchiarono la loro strada contro di me, s'accamparono attorno alla mia tenda.	12 His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
13 I miei fratelli allontanò egli da me, e i miei conoscenti come stranieri da me si ritirarono;	13 He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
14 i miei vicini mi hanno abbandonato, e quei che mi conoscevano mi hanno dimenticato;	14 My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 gl'inquilini di mia casa e le mie serve qual forastiero mi stimano, e qual pellegrino son diventato agli occhi loro.	15 They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
16 Chiamo il mio servo, ma egli non risponde, di bocca mia io sto a supplicarlo!	16 I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
17 L'alito mio fa nausea a mia moglie, e mi raccomando ai figli del mio seno.	17 My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.
18 Perfin gli stolti mi hanno disprezzato, e pur se m'allontano essi mi beffeggiano.	18 Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
19 Quei che già furono miei consiglieri mi hanno abominato, e chi ebbi in sommo amore mi si è voltato contro.	19 All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Alla mia pelle, consuntasi la carne, s'è attaccato il mio scheletro, e sono rimaste solo le labbra attorno ai miei denti.	20 My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Pietà di me, pietà di me, almeno voi amici miei, perchè la mano del Signore mi ha toccato!	21 Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Perchè mi perseguitate, come [fa] Dio, e vi state a satollare delle mie carni?	22 Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Oh! venissero pur scritte le mie parole, oh! fossero vergate nel libro,	23 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 oh con scalpello di ferro e lamina di piombonella dura selce fossero incise!	24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 Io so infatti che il mio redentore vive, e nell'ultimo giorno io sorgerò dalla terra,	25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26 e che nuovamente mi circonderò della mia pelle, e nella mia carne vedrò il mio Dio.	26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 [Quel Dio] che vedrò io stesso, e contempleranno i miei occhi, e non [quelli di] un altro! Questa mia speranza è riposta nel mio seno.	27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
28 Perchè mai dunque voi esclamate: - Esaminiamo costui, e la radice della questione troveremo in lui ?-	28 But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 Guardatevi piuttosto voialtri dalla spada, poichè c'è una spada che vendica l'iniquità: e sappiate che v'è un giudizio!».	29 Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
