1 A Canticle of David himself, when the house was built after the captivity. Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing to the Lord, all the earth.	1 Kommt, laßt uns dem HERRN zujubeln,jauchzen dem Felsen unsers Heils!
2 Sing to the Lord and bless his name. Announce his salvation from day to day.	2 Laßt uns mit Dank vor sein Angesicht treten,mit Liedern (oder: Lobgesängen) ihm jauchzen!
3 Announce his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all peoples.	3 Denn ein großer Gott ist der HERRund ein großer König über alle Götter,
4 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised. He is terrible, beyond all gods.	4 er, in dessen Hand die Tiefen der Erde sindund dem auch die Gipfel der Berge gehören;
5 For all the gods of the Gentiles are demons, but the Lord made the heavens.	5 er, dem das Meer gehört: er hat’s ja geschaffen,und das Festland: seine Hände haben’s gebildet.
6 Confession and beauty are in his sight. Sanctity and magnificence are in his sanctuary.	6 Kommt, laßt uns anbeten und niederfallen,die Knie beugen vor dem HERRN, unserm Schöpfer!
7 Bring to the Lord, you natives of the nations, bring to the Lord glory and honor.	7 Denn er ist unser Gott,und wir das Volk seiner Weide, die Herde seiner Hand (oder: Hut). Möchtet ihr heute doch hören auf seine Stimme:
8 Bring to the Lord glory for his name. Lift up sacrifices, and enter into his courts.	8 »Verstockt nicht euer Herz wie bei Meriba,wie am Tage von Massa in der Wüste (2.Mose 17,1-7),
9 Adore the Lord in his holy court. Let the entire earth be shaken before his face.	9 woselbst eure Väter mich versuchten,mich prüften, obwohl sie doch sahen mein Tun.
10 Say among the Gentiles: The Lord has reigned. For he has even corrected the whole world, which will not be shaken. He will judge the peoples with fairness.	10 Vierzig Jahre hegte ich Abscheu gegen dieses Geschlecht,und sagte (oder: dachte): ›Sie sind ein Volk mit irrendem Herzen‹;sie aber wollten von meinen Wegen nichts wissen.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult; let the sea and all its fullness be moved.	11 So schwur ich denn in meinem Zorn: ›Sie sollen nicht eingehn in meine Ruhstatt!‹« (4.Mose 14,23)
12 The fields and all the things that are in them will be glad. Then all the trees of the forest will rejoice
13 before the face of the Lord: for he arrives. For he arrives to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with fairness and the peoples with his truth.
