1 Saul let his son Jonathan and al his servants know of his intention to kil David. But Jonathan, Saul'sson, held David in great affection;	1 E Saul parlò a Gionata suo figliuolo, e a tutti i suoi servi perchè uccidessero Davidde. Ma Gionata figliuolo di Saul amava grandemente Davidde.
2 and Jonathan warned David, 'My father Saul is looking for a way to kil you, so be on your guardtomorrow morning; go into hiding, stay out of sight.	2 E Gionata ne diede avviso a Davidde, dicendo: Saul padre mio cerca di farti morire: per la qualcosa ti prego, sta sulle tue per domane, e va in luogo segreto, e nasconditi
3 I shal go out and keep my father company in the countryside where you wil be, and shal talk to myfather about you; I shal see what the situation is and then tel you.'	3 Alla campagna dovunque vorrai, mentre io anderò a trovare mio padre; e parlerò di te al padre mio, e ti farò sapere tutto quello che avrò osservato.
4 Jonathan spoke highly of David to Saul his father and said, 'The king should not harm his servantDavid; far from harming you, what he has done has been greatly to your advantage.	4 Gionata adunque parlò a Saulle suo padre in favor di Davidde, e gli disse: Non far male, o re, a Davidde tuo servo, perocché egli non ha fatto male a te, e le sue operazioni sono state a te molto utili.
5 He took his life in his hands, he killed the Philistine, and Yahweh brought about a great victory for al Israel. You saw for yourself. How pleased you were! Why then sin against innocent blood by kil ing David for noreason?'	5 Ed egli pose a repentaglio la propria vita, e uccise il Filisteo, lo che fu una grazia grande fatta dal Signore a tutto Israele: tu lo vedesti, e ne provasti allegrezza. Perchè adunque peccherai tu contro un sangue innocente, uccidendo Davidde che non ha colpa?
6 Saul was impressed by Jonathan's words. Saul swore, 'As Yahweh lives, I wil not kill him.'	6 Ciò avendo udito Saul placato alle parole di Gionata, giurò: Viva il Signore, egli non morrà.
7 Jonathan called David and told him al this. Jonathan then brought him to Saul, and David remained inattendance as before.	7 Gionata allora chiamò Davidde, e gli raccontò tutte queste cose: e Gionata introdusse Davidde a Saul, e (Davidde) si stette presso di lui, come pell'avanti.
8 War broke out again and David sallied out to fight the Philistines; he inflicted a great defeat on themand they fled before him.	8 E cominciò di nuovo la guerra: e David andò a combattere contro i Filistei, e ne fece gran macello, e fuggiron dal cospetto di lui.
9 An evil spirit from Yahweh came over Saul while he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand;David was playing the harp.	9 E lo spirito malo (permettendolo il Signore) entrò in Saul. Or ei sedeva in casa sua avendo in mano una lancia, e David colla sua mano toccava il suo strumento.
10 Saul tried to pin David to the wal with his spear, but he avoided Saul's thrust and the spear stuck inthe wal . David fled and made good his escape. That same night	10 E Saul tentò di conficcar Davidde nel muro colla sua lancia, ma David schivò il colpo di Saul, e la lancia senza fargli male andò a percuotere il muro, e David si fuggì, e si salvò per quella notte.
11 Saul sent agents to watch David's house, intending to kil him in the morning. But Michal, David'swife, warned him, 'If you do not escape tonight, you wil be a dead man tomorrow!'	11 Ma Saul mandò le sue guardie alla casa di David per assicurarsi di sua persona, e farlo morir la mattina. Ma Michol sua moglie avendogli di ciò dato parte, e avendogli detto: Se tu non ti metti in sicuro stanotte, domani sarai morto:
12 Michal then let David down through the window, and he made off, took to flight and so escaped.	12 Lo calò per una finestra: ed egli andò via, e si fuggì, e si salvò.
13 Michal then took a domestic image, laid it on the bed, put a tress of goats' hair at the head of the bedand put a cover over it.	13 Ma Michol prese una statua, e la pose sul letto, e le mise attorno al capo una pelle di capra col pelo, e sopra le mise le coperte.
14 When Saul sent the agents to arrest David, she said, 'He is il .'	14 E Saul mandò guardie a prendere David, e fu risposto che era ammalato.
15 Saul sent the agents back to see David, with the words, 'Bring him to me on his bed, for me to kilhim!'	15 E spedì Saul di nuovo de' messi a vedere David, dicendo: Portatemelo nel suo letto, affinchè io lo faccia morire.
16 So in the agents went, and there in bed was the image, with the tress of goats' hair on its head!	16 E questi essendo venuti trovaron nel letto la statua, e la pelle di capra messale attorno al capo.
17 Saul then said to Michal, 'Why have you deceived me like this and let my enemy go, and so make hisescape?' Michal replied to Saul, 'He said, "Let me go, or I shal kill you!" '	17 E Saul disse a Michol: Perchè mi hai tu burlato così, e hai dato campo al nimico mio di fuggire? E Michol disse a Saul: Perchè egli mi disse: Lasciami andare, altrimenti io ti ammazzerò.
18 David, having fled and made his escape, went to Samuel at Ramah and told him exactly how Saulhad treated him; he and Samuel went and lived in the huts.	18 Ma David si fuggì, e si pose in sicuro, e andò a trovare Samuele a Ramatha, e gli raccontò tutte le cose fatte a lui da Saul: e partirono egli e Samuele, e si fermarono a Najoth.
19 Word was brought to Saul, 'David is in the huts at Ramah.'	19 E vi fu chi riferì a Saul, e gli disse: Si sa che David è in Najoth di Ramatha.
20 Saul accordingly sent agents to capture David; when they saw the community of prophetsprophesying, and Samuel there as their leader, the spirit of God came over Saul's agents, and they too fel intofrenzy.	20 Allora Saul mandò delle guardie a prendere David: ma queste avendo veduto un'adunanza di profeti che lodavano Dio, e Samuele che era loro capo, lo Spirito del Signore entrò anche in essi, e principiarono anch'eglino a lodare Dio.
21 When Saul was told of this, he sent other agents, and they too fel into frenzy; Saul then sent a thirdgroup of agents, and they fel into frenzy too.	21 Ed essendo stata riferita la cosa a Saul, spedì altri messi: ma questi ancora si diedero a lodar Dio. E mandonne altri per la terza volta, i quali parimente si misero a lodar Dio. E Saul ne concepì grandissimo sdegno.
22 He then went to Ramah himself and, arriving at the large storage-wel at Seku, asked, 'Where areSamuel and David?' And someone said, 'Why, they are in the huts at Ramah!'	22 Andò ancor egli a Ramatha, e si avanzò sino alla gran cisterna, che è in Socho, e domandò, e disse: Dove sono Samuele, e Davidde? E fugli risposto: Sono là in Najoth di Ramatha.
23 Making his way from there to the huts at Ramah, the spirit of God came over him too, and he wentalong in a frenzy until he arrived at the huts at Ramah.	23 Ed egli si portò a Najoth di Ramatha, e lo spirito del Signore entrò anche in lui, e per viaggio cantava le laudi di Dio, fino che arrivò a Najoth di Ramatha.
24 He too stripped off his clothes and he too fell into a frenzy in Samuel's presence, then col apsednaked on the ground for the rest of that day and al night. Hence the saying: Is Saul one of the prophets too?	24 E si spogliò di più da sé stesso delle sue vestimenta: e cantò le laudi del Signore con tutti gli altri dinanzi a Samuele, e stette nudo per terra tutto quel dì e la notte. Donde ne venne il proverbio: E’ egli tra' profeti anche Saul?
