Revelation 7

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Next I saw four angels, standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of theworld to keep them from blowing over the land or the sea or any tree.	1 Après quoi je vis quatre Anges, debout aux quatre coins de la terre, retenant les quatre vents dela terre pour qu'il ne soufflât point de vent, ni sur la terre, ni sur la mer, ni sur aucun arbre.
2 Then I saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God; he cal ed in apowerful voice to the four angels whose duty was to devastate land and sea,	2 Puis je vis un autre Ange monter de l'orient, portant le sceau du Dieu vivant; il cria d'une voixpuissante aux quatre Anges auxquels il fut donné de malmener la terre et la mer:
3 'Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees, until we have put the seal on theforeheads of the servants of our God.'	3 "Attendez, pour malmener la terre et la mer et les arbres, que nous ayons marqué au front lesserviteurs de notre Dieu."
4 And I heard how many had been sealed: a hundred and forty-four thousand, out of al the tribes ofIsrael.	4 Et j'appris combien furent alors marqués du sceau: 144.000 de toutes les tribus des fils d'Israël.
5 From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand had been sealed; from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand;from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand;	5 De la tribu de Juda, 12.000 furent marqués; de la tribu de Ruben, 12.000; de la tribu de Gad,12.000;
6 from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; from the tribe ofManasseh, twelve thousand;	6 de la tribu d'Aser, 12.000; de la tribu de Nephtali, 12.000; de la tribu de Manassé, 12.000;
7 from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; from the tribe ofIssachar, twelve thousand;	7 de la tribu de Siméon, 12.000; de la tribu de Lévi, 12.000; de la tribu d'Issachar, 12.000;
8 from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand had beensealed.	8 de la tribu de Zabulon, 12.000; de la tribu de Joseph, 12.000; de la tribu de Benjamin, 12.000furent marqués.
9 After that I saw that there was a huge number, impossible for anyone to count, of people from everynation, race, tribe and language; they were standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed inwhite robes and holding palms in their hands. They shouted in a loud voice,	9 Après quoi, voici qu'apparut à mes yeux une foule immense, que nul ne pouvait dénombrer, detoute nation, race, peuple et langue; debout devant le trône et devant l'Agneau, vêtus de robes blanches, despalmes à la main,
10 'Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'	10 ils crient d'une voix puissante: "Le salut à notre Dieu, qui siège sur le trône, ainsi qu'àl'Agneau!"
11 And al the angels who were standing in a circle round the throne, surrounding the elders and the fourliving creatures, prostrated themselves before the throne, and touched the ground with their foreheads,worshipping God	11 Et tous les Anges en cercle autour du trône, des Vieillards et des quatre Vivants, seprosternèrent devant le trône, la face contre terre, pour adorer Dieu;
12 with these words: Amen. Praise and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honour and power andstrength to our God for ever and ever. Amen.	12 ils disaient: "Amen! Louange, gloire, sagesse, action de grâces, honneur, puissance et force ànotre Dieu pour les siècles des siècles! Amen!"
13 One of the elders then spoke and asked me, 'Who are these people, dressed in white robes, andwhere have they come from?'	13 L'un des Vieillards prit alors la parole et me dit: "Ces gens vêtus de robes blanches, qui sont-ilset d'où viennent-ils?"
14 I answered him, 'You can tel me, sir.' Then he said, 'These are the people who have been through thegreat trial; they have washed their robes white again in the blood of the Lamb.	14 Et moi de répondre: "Monseigneur, c'est toi qui le sais." Il reprit: "Ce sont ceux qui viennentde la grande épreuve: ils ont lavé leurs robes et les ont blanchies dans le sang de l'Agneau.
15 That is why they are standing in front of God's throne and serving him day and night in his sanctuary;and the One who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.	15 C'est pourquoi ils sont devant le trône de Dieu, le servant jour et nuit dans son temple; et Celuiqui siège sur le trône étendra sur eux sa tente.
16 They will never hunger or thirst again; sun and scorching wind wil never plague them,	16 Jamais plus ils ne souffriront de la faim ni de la soif; jamais plus ils ne seront accablés ni par lesoleil, ni par aucun vent brûlant.
17 because the Lamb who is at the heart of the throne wil be their shepherd and wil guide them tosprings of living water; and God wil wipe away al tears from their eyes.'	17 Car l'Agneau qui se tient au milieu du trône sera leur pasteur et les conduira aux sources deseaux de la vie. Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux."
