Revelation 7

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 Next I saw four angels, standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of theworld to keep them from blowing over the land or the sea or any tree.	1 Après cela j’ai vu quatre anges. Ils se tenaient aux quatre extrémités de la terre et retenaient les quatre vents de la terre pour empêcher que le vent souffle sur la terre, sur la mer et sur les arbres.
2 Then I saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God; he cal ed in apowerful voice to the four angels whose duty was to devastate land and sea,	2 J’ai vu aussi un autre ange qui s’élevait de là où le soleil se lève et qui tenait en mains le sceau du Dieu vivant. Et voici qu’il interpelle les quatre anges qui ont reçu le pouvoir de nuire à la terre et à la mer:
3 'Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees, until we have put the seal on theforeheads of the servants of our God.'	3 "Ne frappez pas la terre, ni la mer, ni les arbres, le temps que nous marquions au front les serviteurs de notre Dieu.”
4 And I heard how many had been sealed: a hundred and forty-four thousand, out of al the tribes ofIsrael.	4 Après quoi j’ai entendu le nombre de ceux qui avaient été marqués: 144 000 avaient été marqués parmi les différentes tribus d’Israël.
5 From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand had been sealed; from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand;from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand;	5 Douze mille de la tribu de Juda portaient la marque; douze mille aussi de la tribu de Ruben; douze mille de la tribu de Gad;
6 from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; from the tribe ofManasseh, twelve thousand;	6 douze mille de la tribu d’Aser; douze mille de la tribu de Nephtali; douze mille de la tribu de Manassé;
7 from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; from the tribe ofIssachar, twelve thousand;	7 douze mille de la tribu de Siméon; douze mille de la tribu de Lévi; douze mille de la tribu d’Issacar;
8 from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand had beensealed.	8 douze mille de la tribu de Zabulon; douze mille de la tribu de Joseph; douze mille enfin de la tribu de Benjamin portaient la marque.
9 After that I saw that there was a huge number, impossible for anyone to count, of people from everynation, race, tribe and language; they were standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed inwhite robes and holding palms in their hands. They shouted in a loud voice,	9 Aussitôt après j’ai vu une foule immense que personne ne pourrait compter. Ils appartiennent à toutes les nations, à tous les peuples et tous les clans, à toutes les langues, et se tiennent face au trône et à l’Agneau, vêtus de blanc, avec des palmes à la main.
10 'Salvation to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'	10 Et ils crient de toutes leurs forces: "La victoire est à notre Dieu qui siège sur le trône, et à l’Agneau!”
11 And al the angels who were standing in a circle round the throne, surrounding the elders and the fourliving creatures, prostrated themselves before the throne, and touched the ground with their foreheads,worshipping God	11 Tous les anges étaient rangés autour du trône, des Anciens et des quatre Vivants. Ils se sont alors jetés au sol sur leur face et ils ont adoré Dieu:
12 with these words: Amen. Praise and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honour and power andstrength to our God for ever and ever. Amen.	12 "Amen. La bénédiction, la gloire, la sagesse et l’action de grâce, l’honneur, le pouvoir et la force reviennent à notre Dieu pour les siècles des siècles. Amen!”
13 One of the elders then spoke and asked me, 'Who are these people, dressed in white robes, andwhere have they come from?'	13 Alors un des Anciens m’a posé cette question: "Sais-tu qui sont ces gens vêtus de blanc et d’où ils viennent?”
14 I answered him, 'You can tel me, sir.' Then he said, 'These are the people who have been through thegreat trial; they have washed their robes white again in the blood of the Lamb.	14 J’ai répondu: "C’est vous qui devez le savoir.” Il m’a dit: "Ceux-là nous viennent de la grande persécution. Ils ont lavé leurs vêtements et les ont blanchis dans le sang de l’Agneau.
15 That is why they are standing in front of God's throne and serving him day and night in his sanctuary;and the One who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.	15 “C’est pourquoi ils sont là devant le trône de Dieu, ils le serviront jour et nuit dans son temple, et celui qui siège sur le trône s’établira au milieu d’eux.
16 They will never hunger or thirst again; sun and scorching wind wil never plague them,	16 Ils ne connaîtront plus la faim, ni la soif, ni le vent torride et la brûlure du soleil.
17 because the Lamb who is at the heart of the throne wil be their shepherd and wil guide them tosprings of living water; and God wil wipe away al tears from their eyes.'	17 L’Agneau qui est au centre du trône sera leur pasteur et les conduira aux fontaines d’eau vive. Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux.”
