Revelation 16

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the sanctuary cal ing to the seven angels, 'Go, and empty the sevenbowls of God's anger over the earth.'	1 E sentii uscire dal santuario una gran voce che diceva ai sette Angeli: Andate e versate sulla terra i sette calici dell'ira di Dio.
2 The first angel went and emptied his bowl over the earth; at once, on al the people who had beenbranded with the mark of the beast and had worshipped its statue, there came disgusting and virulent sores.	2 Il primo Angelo andò e versò il suo calice sulla terra, e ne venne un'ulcera crudele e maligna agli uomini che avevan l'impronta della bestia, e a quelli che avevano adorata l'imagine di ossia.
3 The second angel emptied his bowl over the sea, and it turned to blood, like the blood of a corpse, andevery living creature in the sea died.	3 Il secondo Angelo versò il suo calice nel mare, che divenne come sangue d'un morto, e perì ogni essere vivente che si trovava nel mare.
4 The third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and springs of water and they turned into blood.	4 E il terzo Angelo versò il suo calice nei fiumi e nelle fonti d'acqua, e diventarne sangue.
5 Then I heard the angel of water say, 'You are the Upright One, He who is, He who was, the Holy One,for giving this verdict:	5 E sentii l'Angolo delle acque che diceva: Giusto sei, o Signore, che sei e che eri santo, perchè hai così giudicato;
6 they spilt the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood is what you have given them to drink; it iswhat they deserve.'	6 avendo essi sparso il sangue dei Santi e dei profeti, hai dato loro a bere del sangue, e l'han ben meritato!
7 And I heard the altar itself say, 'Truly, Lord God Almighty, the punishments you give are true and just.'	7 E ne sentii un altro che dall'altare diceva: Davvero, o Signore, Dio Onnipotente, son veri e giusti i tuoi giudizi.
8 The fourth angel emptied his bowl over the sun and it was made to scorch people with its flames;	8 E il quarto Angelo versò il suo calice nel sole, e gli fu dato di affligger gli uomini col calore e col fuoco;
9 but though people were scorched by the fierce heat of it, they cursed the name of God who had thepower to cause such plagues, and they would not repent and glorify him.	9 e gli uomini, bollendo pel gran calore, bestemmiarono il nome di Dio, che ha potere su queste piaghe, ma non fecero penitenza da dargli gloria.
10 The fifth angel emptied his bowl over the throne of the beast and its whole empire was plunged intodarkness. People were biting their tongues for pain,	10 E il quinto Angelo versò il calice sul trono della bestia, e il regno della bestia fu immerso nelle tenebre, e gli uomini pel dolore si mordevano la lingua,
11 but instead of repenting for what they had done, they cursed the God of heaven because of theirpains and sores.	11 e bestemmiarono il Dio del cielo a causa dei loro dolori ed ulcere; ma non si convertirono dalle loro opere.
12 The sixth angel emptied his bowl over the great river Euphrates; al the water dried up so that a waywas made for the kings of the East to come in.	12 E il sesto Angelo versò il calice nel gran fiume Eufrate, e lo fe' seccare, perchè fosse preparata la via ai re dell'Oriente.
13 Then from the jaws of dragon and beast and false prophet I saw three foul spirits come; they lookedlike frogs	13 Poi vidi uscire dalla bocca del dragone e dalla bocca della bestia e dalla bocca del falso profeta tre spiriti immondi simili a delle rane;
14 and in fact were demon spirits, able to work miracles, going out to al the kings of the world to callthem together for the war of the Great Day of God the Almighty.-	14 perchè sono spiriti di demoni che, fa­cendo prodigi, se ne vanno ai re di tutta la terra, per adu­narli a battaglia nel gran gior­no di Dio Onnipotente.
15 Look, I shall come like a thief. Blessed is anyone who has kept watch, and has kept his clothes on,so that he does not go out naked and expose his shame.-	15 Ecco, io vengo come un ladro. Bea­to chi veglia e serba le sue ve­sti, per non andar nudo a far vedere le sue vergogne.
16 They cal ed the kings together at the place cal ed, in Hebrew, Armageddon.	16 E li radunerà nel luogo chiamato in ebraico Armagedon.
17 The seventh angel emptied his bowl into the air, and a great voice boomed out from the sanctuary,'The end has come.'	17 E il settimo Angelo versò il suo calice nell'aria; e dal tempio e dal trono uscì una gran voce che disse: E' fatto.
18 Then there were flashes of lightning and peals of thunder and a violent earthquake, unparalleledsince humanity first came into existence.	18 E ne seguiron folgori e grida e tuoni e gran terremoto, sì rovinoso che da quando l'uomo è sulla terra non vi fu mai un terremoto così grande.
19 The Great City was split into three parts and the cities of the world col apsed; Babylon the Great wasnot forgotten: God made her drink the ful winecup of his retribution.	19 E la gran città fu squarciata in tre parti, e le città delle Genti crollarono. E fu ricordata dinanzi a Dio la grande Babilonia, perchè fosse dato a lei il calice del vino della sua ardente indignazione.
20 Every island vanished and the mountains disappeared;	20 Tutte le isole fuggirono, i monti scomparvero
21 and hail, with great hailstones weighing a talent each, fel from the sky on the people. They cursedGod for sending a plague of hail; it was the most terrible plague.	21 e grandine grossa come un talento cadde dal cielo sopra gli uomini, e gli uomini bestemmiarono Dio a cagion della piaga della grandine, perchè era oltremodo grande.
