Revelation 16

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the sanctuary cal ing to the seven angels, 'Go, and empty the sevenbowls of God's anger over the earth.'	1 - E udii una gran voce dal tempio, che diceva ai sette angeli: «Andate e versate sulla terra le sette coppe del furore di Dio».
2 The first angel went and emptied his bowl over the earth; at once, on al the people who had beenbranded with the mark of the beast and had worshipped its statue, there came disgusting and virulent sores.	2 E partì il primo e versò la sua coppa sulla terra, e venne un'ulcera cattiva e maligna sugli uomini che avevano il marchio della bestia e sugli adoratori della sua effigie.
3 The second angel emptied his bowl over the sea, and it turned to blood, like the blood of a corpse, andevery living creature in the sea died.	3 E il secondo angelo versò la sua coppa nel mare, e [il mare] diventò come sangue d'un morto, e ogni essere vivente nel mare morì.
4 The third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and springs of water and they turned into blood.	4 E il terzo versò la sua coppa ne' fiumi e sulle fonti delle acque, e diventarono sangue.
5 Then I heard the angel of water say, 'You are the Upright One, He who is, He who was, the Holy One,for giving this verdict:	5 E udii l'angelo delle acque che diceva: «Giusto se' tu, [o Signore], tu che sei ed eri, tu il Santo, perchè hai così giudicato.
6 they spilt the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood is what you have given them to drink; it iswhat they deserve.'	6 Han versato il sangue de' santi e de' profeti, e sangue hai dato loro a bere: [ben ne] son degni!».
7 And I heard the altar itself say, 'Truly, Lord God Almighty, the punishments you give are true and just.'	7 E udii un altro dall'altare che diceva: «Sì, o Signore Iddio onnipotente, veri e giusti sono i tuoi giudizi!».
8 The fourth angel emptied his bowl over the sun and it was made to scorch people with its flames;	8 E il quarto angelo versò la sua coppa sul sole, e fu dato a questo di bruciare gli uomini con l'ardore e col fuoco.
9 but though people were scorched by the fierce heat of it, they cursed the name of God who had thepower to cause such plagues, and they would not repent and glorify him.	9 E furon arsi gli uomini da grande ardore, e bestemmiarono il nome di Dio, che ha potere su queste piaghe, e non si ravvidero per dargli gloria.
10 The fifth angel emptied his bowl over the throne of the beast and its whole empire was plunged intodarkness. People were biting their tongues for pain,	10 E il quinto angelo versò la sua coppa sul trono della bestia: e s'ottenebrò il suo regno, e si mordevan [gli uomini] la lingua per il travaglio,
11 but instead of repenting for what they had done, they cursed the God of heaven because of theirpains and sores.	11 e bestemmiavano Iddio nel cielo a causa de' loro travagli e delle loro piaghe; e [tuttavia] non si ravvidero dalle opere loro.
12 The sixth angel emptied his bowl over the great river Euphrates; al the water dried up so that a waywas made for the kings of the East to come in.	12 E il sesto angelo versò la sua coppa sul gran fiume l'Eufrate, e seccò le sue acque, perchè fosse preparata la via ai re dell'oriente.
13 Then from the jaws of dragon and beast and false prophet I saw three foul spirits come; they lookedlike frogs	13 E vidi dalla bocca del drago e dalla bocca della bestia e dalla bocca del falso profeta [uscir] tre spiriti immondi a forma di rane.
14 and in fact were demon spirits, able to work miracles, going out to al the kings of the world to callthem together for the war of the Great Day of God the Almighty.-	14 Sono invero spiriti di demoni che fanno portenti, e vanno dai re di tutta la terra per radunarli alla guerra del gran giorno di Dio onnipotente.
15 Look, I shall come like a thief. Blessed is anyone who has kept watch, and has kept his clothes on,so that he does not go out naked and expose his shame.-	15 [Di questo giorno è stato detto]: «Ecco ch'io vengo come un ladro! Beato chi vigila e custodisce le sue vesti, perchè non abbia ad andar nudo, e vedan la sua vergogna».
16 They cal ed the kings together at the place cal ed, in Hebrew, Armageddon.	16 E li radunò nel luogo ch'è chiamato in ebraico «Armaghedon».
17 The seventh angel emptied his bowl into the air, and a great voice boomed out from the sanctuary,'The end has come.'	17 E il settimo angelo versò la sua coppa nell'aria, e uscì una gran voce dal tempio, [giù] dal trono, la quale diceva: «È fatto!».
18 Then there were flashes of lightning and peals of thunder and a violent earthquake, unparalleledsince humanity first came into existence.	18 E seguiron lampi e voci e tuoni, e ci fu un gran terremoto, quale non c'era stato, da che uomo fu in terra, un terremoto tale, così grande.
19 The Great City was split into three parts and the cities of the world col apsed; Babylon the Great wasnot forgotten: God made her drink the ful winecup of his retribution.	19 E la grande città si fece in tre parti, e le città delle genti caddero, e Babilonia la grande fu ricordata al cospetto di Dio, per darle il bicchiere del vino del furore dell'ira di lui.
20 Every island vanished and the mountains disappeared;	20 E tutte le isole fuggirono, e i monti non si trovaron [più].
21 and hail, with great hailstones weighing a talent each, fel from the sky on the people. They cursedGod for sending a plague of hail; it was the most terrible plague.	21 E grandine grossa come un talento cadde giù dal cielo sugli uomini. E bestemmiarono Iddio gli uomini per la piaga della grandine, perchè essa fu stragrande.
