Revelation 16

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the sanctuary cal ing to the seven angels, 'Go, and empty the sevenbowls of God's anger over the earth.'	1 Ed io udii una gran voce dal tempio, che diceva a’ sette angeli; Andate, versate nella terra le coppe dell’ira di Dio.
2 The first angel went and emptied his bowl over the earth; at once, on al the people who had beenbranded with the mark of the beast and had worshipped its statue, there came disgusting and virulent sores.	2 E il primo andò, e versò la sua coppa in su la terra; e venne un’ulcera maligna, e dolorosa, agli uomini che aveano il marchio della bestia, ed a quelli che adoravano la sua immagine.
3 The second angel emptied his bowl over the sea, and it turned to blood, like the blood of a corpse, andevery living creature in the sea died.	3 Poi, il secondo angelo versò la sua coppa nel mare; ed esso divenne sangue, come di corpo morto; ed ogni anima vivente morì nel mare.
4 The third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and springs of water and they turned into blood.	4 Poi, il terzo angelo versò la sua coppa ne’ fiumi, e nelle fonti dell’acque; e divennero sangue.
5 Then I heard the angel of water say, 'You are the Upright One, He who is, He who was, the Holy One,for giving this verdict:	5 Ed io udii l’angelo delle acque, che diceva: Tu sei giusto, o Signore, che sei, e che eri, che sei il Santo, d’aver fatti questi giudicii.
6 they spilt the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood is what you have given them to drink; it iswhat they deserve.'	6 Poichè essi hanno sparso il sangue de’ santi, e de’ profeti, tu hai loro altresì dato a bere del sangue; perciocchè ben ne son degni.
7 And I heard the altar itself say, 'Truly, Lord God Almighty, the punishments you give are true and just.'	7 Ed io ne udii un altro, dal lato dell’altare, che diceva: Sì certo, Signore Iddio onnipotente, i tuoi giudicii son veraci, e giusti
8 The fourth angel emptied his bowl over the sun and it was made to scorch people with its flames;	8 Poi, il quarto angelo versò la sua coppa sopra il sole; e gli fu dato d’ardere gli uomini con fuoco.
9 but though people were scorched by the fierce heat of it, they cursed the name of God who had thepower to cause such plagues, and they would not repent and glorify him.	9 E gli uomini furono arsi di grande arsura; e bestemmiarono il nome di Dio, che ha la podestà sopra queste piaghe; e non si ravvidero, per dargli gloria.
10 The fifth angel emptied his bowl over the throne of the beast and its whole empire was plunged intodarkness. People were biting their tongues for pain,	10 Poi, il quinto angelo versò la sua coppa in sul trono della bestia; e il suo regno divenne tenebroso, e gli uomini si mordevano le lingue per l’affanno;
11 but instead of repenting for what they had done, they cursed the God of heaven because of theirpains and sores.	11 e bestemmiarono l’Iddio del cielo, per i lor travagli, e per le loro ulcere; e non si ravvidero delle loro opere
12 The sixth angel emptied his bowl over the great river Euphrates; al the water dried up so that a waywas made for the kings of the East to come in.	12 Poi, il sesto angelo versò la sua coppa in sul gran fiume Eufrate, e l’acqua di esso fu asciutta; acciocchè fosse apparecchiata la via dei re, che vengono dal sol levante.
13 Then from the jaws of dragon and beast and false prophet I saw three foul spirits come; they lookedlike frogs	13 Ed io vidi uscir della bocca del dragone, e della bocca della bestia, e della bocca del falso profeta, tre spiriti immondi, a guisa di rane;
14 and in fact were demon spirits, able to work miracles, going out to al the kings of the world to callthem together for the war of the Great Day of God the Almighty.-	14 perciocchè sono spiriti di demoni, i quali fan segni, ed escon fuori ai re di tutto il mondo, per raunarli alla battaglia di quel gran giorno dell’Iddio onnipotente.
15 Look, I shall come like a thief. Blessed is anyone who has kept watch, and has kept his clothes on,so that he does not go out naked and expose his shame.-	15 Ecco, io vengo come un ladrone; beato chi veglia, e guarda i suoi vestimenti, acciocchè non cammini nudo, e non si veggano le sue vergogne.
16 They cal ed the kings together at the place cal ed, in Hebrew, Armageddon.	16 Ed essi li raunarono in un luogo, detto in Ebreo Armagheddon
17 The seventh angel emptied his bowl into the air, and a great voice boomed out from the sanctuary,'The end has come.'	17 Poi, il settimo angelo versò la sua coppa nell’aria; e una gran voce uscì dal tempio del cielo, dal trono, dicendo: È fatto.
18 Then there were flashes of lightning and peals of thunder and a violent earthquake, unparalleledsince humanity first came into existence.	18 E si fecero folgori, e tuoni, e suoni, e gran tremoto; tale che non ne fu giammai un simile, nè un così grande, da che gli uomini sono stati sopra la terra.
19 The Great City was split into three parts and the cities of the world col apsed; Babylon the Great wasnot forgotten: God made her drink the ful winecup of his retribution.	19 E la gran città fu divisa in tre parti, e le città delle genti caddero; Dio si ricordò della gran Babilonia, per darle il calice dell’indegnazione della sua ira.
20 Every island vanished and the mountains disappeared;	20 Ed ogni isola fuggì, e i monti non furon trovati.
21 and hail, with great hailstones weighing a talent each, fel from the sky on the people. They cursedGod for sending a plague of hail; it was the most terrible plague.	21 E cadde dal cielo, in su gli uomini, una gragnuola grossa come del peso d’un talento; e gli uomini bestemmiarono Iddio per la piaga della gragnuola; perciocchè la piaga d’essa era grandissima
