Revelation 16

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Then I heard a loud voice from the sanctuary cal ing to the seven angels, 'Go, and empty the sevenbowls of God's anger over the earth.'	1 Et j'entendis une voix qui, du temple, criait aux sept Anges: "Allez, répandez sur la terre lessept coupes de la colère de Dieu."
2 The first angel went and emptied his bowl over the earth; at once, on al the people who had beenbranded with the mark of the beast and had worshipped its statue, there came disgusting and virulent sores.	2 Et le premier s'en alla répandre sa coupe sur la terre; alors, ce fut un ulcère mauvais etpernicieux sur les gens qui portaient la marque de la Bête et se prosternaient devant son image.
3 The second angel emptied his bowl over the sea, and it turned to blood, like the blood of a corpse, andevery living creature in the sea died.	3 Et le deuxième répandit sa coupe dans la mer; alors, ce fut du sang - on aurait dit un meurtre! -et tout être vivant mourut dans la mer.
4 The third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and springs of water and they turned into blood.	4 Et le troisième répandit sa coupe dans les fleuves et les sources; alors, ce fut du sang.
5 Then I heard the angel of water say, 'You are the Upright One, He who is, He who was, the Holy One,for giving this verdict:	5 Et j'entendis l'Ange des eaux qui disait: "Tu es juste, Il est et Il était, le Saint, d'avoir ainsichâtié;
6 they spilt the blood of the saints and the prophets, and blood is what you have given them to drink; it iswhat they deserve.'	6 c'est le sang des saints et des prophètes qu'ils ont versé, c'est donc du sang que tu leur as faitboire, ils le méritent!"
7 And I heard the altar itself say, 'Truly, Lord God Almighty, the punishments you give are true and just.'	7 Et j'entendis l'autel dire: "Oui, Seigneur, Dieu Maître-de-tout, tes châtiments sont vrais etjustes."
8 The fourth angel emptied his bowl over the sun and it was made to scorch people with its flames;	8 Et le quatrième répandit sa coupe sur le soleil; alors, il lui fut donné de brûler les hommes parle feu,
9 but though people were scorched by the fierce heat of it, they cursed the name of God who had thepower to cause such plagues, and they would not repent and glorify him.	9 et les hommes furent brûlés par une chaleur torride. Mais, loin de se repentir en rendant gloireà Dieu, ils blasphémèrent le nom du Dieu qui détenait en son pouvoir de tels fléaux.
10 The fifth angel emptied his bowl over the throne of the beast and its whole empire was plunged intodarkness. People were biting their tongues for pain,	10 Et le cinquième répandit sa coupe sur le trône de la Bête, alors, son royaume devint ténèbres,et l'on se mordait la langue de douleur.
11 but instead of repenting for what they had done, they cursed the God of heaven because of theirpains and sores.	11 Mais, loin de se repentir de leurs agissements, les hommes blasphémèrent le Dieu du cielsous le coup des douleurs et des plaies.
12 The sixth angel emptied his bowl over the great river Euphrates; al the water dried up so that a waywas made for the kings of the East to come in.	12 Et le sixième répandit sa coupe sur le grand fleuve Euphrate; alors, ses eaux tarirent, livrantpassage aux rois de l'Orient.
13 Then from the jaws of dragon and beast and false prophet I saw three foul spirits come; they lookedlike frogs	13 Puis, de la gueule du Dragon, et de la gueule de la Bête, et de la gueule du faux prophète, jevis surgir trois esprits impurs, comme des grenouilles --
14 and in fact were demon spirits, able to work miracles, going out to al the kings of the world to callthem together for the war of the Great Day of God the Almighty.-	14 et de fait, ce sont des esprits démoniaques, des faiseurs de prodiges, qui s'en vont rassemblerles rois du monde entier pour la guerre, pour le grand Jour du Dieu Maître-de-tout.
15 Look, I shall come like a thief. Blessed is anyone who has kept watch, and has kept his clothes on,so that he does not go out naked and expose his shame.-	15 (Voici que je viens comme un voleur: heureux celui qui veille et garde ses vêtements pour nepas aller nu et laisser voir sa honte.)
16 They cal ed the kings together at the place cal ed, in Hebrew, Armageddon.	16 Ils les rassemblèrent au lieu dit, en hébreu, Harmagedôn.
17 The seventh angel emptied his bowl into the air, and a great voice boomed out from the sanctuary,'The end has come.'	17 Et le septième répandit sa coupe dans l'air; alors, partant du temple, une voix clama: "C'en estfait!"
18 Then there were flashes of lightning and peals of thunder and a violent earthquake, unparalleledsince humanity first came into existence.	18 Et ce furent des éclairs et des voix et des tonnerres, avec un violent tremblement de terre;non, depuis qu'il y a des hommes sur la terre, jamais on n'avait vu pareil tremblement de terre, aussi violent!
19 The Great City was split into three parts and the cities of the world col apsed; Babylon the Great wasnot forgotten: God made her drink the ful winecup of his retribution.	19 La Grande Cité se scinda en trois parties, et les cités des nations croulèrent; et Babylone laGrande, Dieu s'en souvint pour lui donner la coupe où bouillonne le vin de sa colère.
20 Every island vanished and the mountains disappeared;	20 Alors, toute île prit la fuite, et les montagnes disparurent.
21 and hail, with great hailstones weighing a talent each, fel from the sky on the people. They cursedGod for sending a plague of hail; it was the most terrible plague.	21 Et des grêlons énormes - près de 80 livres! - s'abattirent du ciel sur les hommes. Et leshommes blasphémèrent Dieu, à cause de cette grêle désastreuse; oui, elle est bien cause d'un effrayant désastre.
