1 As Christ has undergone bodily suffering, you too should arm yourselves with the same conviction, thatanyone who has undergone bodily suffering has broken with sin,	1 ועתה כאשר ענה המשיח בעדנו בבשר כן היו גם אתם מזינים במחשבה ההיא כי המענה בבשר חדל מחטוא
2 because for the rest of life on earth that person is ruled not by human passions but only by the wil ofGod.	2 למען אשר לא תחיו עוד לתאות בני אדם כי אם לרצון אלהים כל ימי היתכם עוד בבשר
3 You spent quite long enough in the past living the sort of life that gentiles choose to live, behaving in adebauched way, giving way to your passions, drinking to excess, having wild parties and drunken orgies andsacrilegiously worshipping false gods.	3 כי דינו עת החיים אשר עברה לעשות כחפץ הגוים בלכתנו בדרכי זמה ובתאות כסבאי יין וזללי בשר ורדפי שכר ותועבות עבדת האלילים
4 So people are taken aback that you no longer hurry off with them to join this flood which is rushingdown to ruin, and then abuse you for it.	4 ועל זאת תמהים המה ומגדפים כי לא תרוצו עמהם לשטף בזמה כמוהם
5 They wil have to answer for it before the judge who is to judge the living and the dead.	5 אשר יתנו חשבון לפני העתיד לשפט החיים והמתים
6 And this was why the gospel was brought to the dead as wel , so that, though in their bodies they hadundergone the judgement that faces al humanity, in their spirit they might enjoy the life of God.	6 כי על כן התבשרו גם המתים למען ישפטו בבשר לפי דרך בני אדם ויחיו ברוח לפי דרך אלהים
7 The end of all things is near, so keep your minds calm and sober for prayer.	7 הן קץ הכל קרב לכן היו צנועים וערים להתפלל
8 Above al preserve an intense love for each other, since love covers over many a sin.	8 ולפני כל דבר אהבו איש את אחיו אהבה חזקה כי על רב פשעים תכסה האהבה
9 Welcome each other into your houses without grumbling.	9 היו מארחים איש את רעהו בבלי תלנות
10 Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these variedgraces of God, put it at the service of others.	10 איש איש כמתן החסד אשר קבל תעזרו איש לרעהו כגזברים ממנים על חסדי אלהים הרבים
11 If anyone is a speaker, let it be as the words of God, if anyone serves, let it be as in strength grantedby God; so that in everything God may receive the glory, through Jesus Christ, since to him alone belong alglory and power for ever and ever. Amen.	11 איש כי ידבר יהי כאמרי אל ואיש כי יעזר תהי עזרתו מתוך החיל אשר חננו אלהים למען יכבד אלהים בכל על ידי ישוע המשיח אשר לו הכבוד והעז לעולמי עולמים אמן
12 My dear friends, do not be taken aback at the testing by fire which is taking place among you, asthough something strange were happening to you;	12 אהובים בבאכם בתוך כור עני למען נסתכם אל נא תתמהו כאלו קרה לכם דבר זר
13 but in so far as you share in the sufferings of Christ, be glad, so that you may enjoy a much greatergladness when his glory is revealed.	13 כי אם שמחו על אשר חלק לכם בענויי המשיח למען גם תשמחו ותעלצו בהגלות כבודו
14 If you are insulted for bearing Christ's name, blessed are you, for on you rests the Spirit of God, theSpirit of glory.	14 אם יחרפו אתכם למען שם המשיח אשריכם כי נחה עליכם רוח הכבוד רוח אלהים אצלם מנאץ הוא ואצלכם נכבד
15 None of you should ever deserve to suffer for being a murderer, a thief, a criminal or an informer;	15 רק אל יענה איש מכם כרצח או כגנב או כפעל און או כנכנס בפקדת אחרים
16 but if any one of you should suffer for being a Christian, then there must be no shame but thanksgiving to God for bearing this name.	16 ואם יענה כאחד המשיחיים אל יבוש כי אם יודה לאלהים על הדבר הזה
17 The time has come for the judgement to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, whatwil be the end for those who refuse to believe God's gospel?	17 כי עת החל המשפט מבית אלהים ואם ממנו ראשנה מה אפוא תהיה אחרית הממרים את בשורת אלהים
18 If it is hard for the upright to be saved, what wil happen to the wicked and to sinners?	18 הן צדיק כמעט יושע אף כי רשע וחוטא
19 So even those whom God allows to suffer should commit themselves to a Creator who is trustworthy,and go on doing good.	19 לכן גם המענים כרצון אלהים יפקידו את נפשותם ביד אלהים הברא הנאמן ויוסיפו לעשות הטוב
