1 As Christ has undergone bodily suffering, you too should arm yourselves with the same conviction, thatanyone who has undergone bodily suffering has broken with sin,	1 Ya que Cristo padeció en la carne, armaos también vosotros de este mismo pensamiento: quien padece en la carne, ha roto con el pecado,
2 because for the rest of life on earth that person is ruled not by human passions but only by the wil ofGod.	2 para vivir ya el tiempo que le quede en la carne, no según las pasiones humanas, sino según la voluntad de Dios.
3 You spent quite long enough in the past living the sort of life that gentiles choose to live, behaving in adebauched way, giving way to your passions, drinking to excess, having wild parties and drunken orgies andsacrilegiously worshipping false gods.	3 Ya es bastante el tiempo que habéis pasado obrando conforme al querer de los gentiles, viviendo en desenfrenos, liviandades, crápulas, orgías, embriagueces y en cultos ilícitos a los ídolos.
4 So people are taken aback that you no longer hurry off with them to join this flood which is rushingdown to ruin, and then abuse you for it.	4 A este propósito, se extrañan de que no corráis con ellos hacia ese libertinaje desbordado, y prorrumpen en injurias.
5 They wil have to answer for it before the judge who is to judge the living and the dead.	5 Darán cuenta a quien está pronto para juzgar a vivos y muertos.
6 And this was why the gospel was brought to the dead as wel , so that, though in their bodies they hadundergone the judgement that faces al humanity, in their spirit they might enjoy the life of God.	6 Por eso hasta a los muertos se ha anunciado la Buena Nueva, para que, condenados en carne según los hombres, vivan en espíritu según Dios.
7 The end of all things is near, so keep your minds calm and sober for prayer.	7 El fin de todas las cosas está cercano. Sed, pues, sensatos y sobrios para daros a la oración.
8 Above al preserve an intense love for each other, since love covers over many a sin.	8 Ante todo, tened entre vosotros intenso amor, pues el amor cubre multitud de pecados.
9 Welcome each other into your houses without grumbling.	9 Sed hospitalarios unos con otros sin murmurar.
10 Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these variedgraces of God, put it at the service of others.	10 Que cada cual ponga al servicio de los demás la gracia que ha recibido, como buenos administradores de las diversas gracias de Dios.
11 If anyone is a speaker, let it be as the words of God, if anyone serves, let it be as in strength grantedby God; so that in everything God may receive the glory, through Jesus Christ, since to him alone belong alglory and power for ever and ever. Amen.	11 Si alguno habla, sean palabras de Dios; si alguno presta un servicio, hágalo en virtud del poder recibido de Dios, para que Dios sea glorificado en todo por Jesucristo, a quien corresponden la gloria y el poder por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
12 My dear friends, do not be taken aback at the testing by fire which is taking place among you, asthough something strange were happening to you;	12 Queridos, no os extrañéis del fuego que ha prendido en medio de vosotros para probaros, como si os sucediera algo extraño,
13 but in so far as you share in the sufferings of Christ, be glad, so that you may enjoy a much greatergladness when his glory is revealed.	13 sino alegraos en la medida en que participáis en los sufrimientos de Cristo, para que también os alegréis alborozados en la revelación de su gloria.
14 If you are insulted for bearing Christ's name, blessed are you, for on you rests the Spirit of God, theSpirit of glory.	14 Dichosos de vosotros, si sois injuriados por el nombre de Cristo, pues el Espíritu de gloria, que es el Espíritu de Dios, reposa sobre vosotros.
15 None of you should ever deserve to suffer for being a murderer, a thief, a criminal or an informer;	15 Que ninguno de vosotros tenga que sufrir ni por criminal ni por ladrón ni por malhechor ni por entrometido:
16 but if any one of you should suffer for being a Christian, then there must be no shame but thanksgiving to God for bearing this name.	16 pero si es por cristiano, que no se avergüence, que glorifique a Dios por llevar este nombre.
17 The time has come for the judgement to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, whatwil be the end for those who refuse to believe God's gospel?	17 Porque ha llegado el tiempo de comenzar el juicio por la casa de Dios. Pues si comienza por nosotros, ¿qué fin tendrán los que no creen en el Evangelio de Dios?
18 If it is hard for the upright to be saved, what wil happen to the wicked and to sinners?	18 Si el justo se salva a duras penas ¿en qué pararán el impío y el pecador?
19 So even those whom God allows to suffer should commit themselves to a Creator who is trustworthy,and go on doing good.	19 De modo que, aun los que sufren según la voluntad de Dios, confíen sus almas al Creador fiel, haciendo el bien.
