1 Thessalonians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the Church in Thessalonica which is in God the Father and the LordJesus Christ. Grace to you and peace.	1 - Paolo e Silvano e Timoteo alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi, in Dio Padre e Signore Gesù Cristo, grazia a voi e pace.
2 We always thank God for you al , mentioning you in our prayers continually.	2 Noi rendiamo sempre grazie a Dio per tutti voi, facendone menzione nelle nostre preghiere,
3 We remember before our God and Father how active is the faith, how unsparing the love, howpersevering the hope which you have from our Lord Jesus Christ.	3 e non cessando mai di ricordare nel cospetto di Dio e Padre nostro, l'opera vostra di fede e la carità laboriosa e la costante speranza che avete in Gesù Cristo Signor nostro.
4 We know, brothers loved by God, that you have been chosen,	4 Noi sappiamo, o fratelli amati da Dio, che siete fra gli eletti,
5 because our gospel came to you not only in words, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and withgreat effect. And you observed the sort of life we lived when we were with you, which was for your sake.	5 poichè il nostro Vangelo non è stato tra voi solo a parole ma con possanza, e nello Spirito Santo, e in molta pienezza; così voi sapete quali noi siamo stati fra voi per amor vostro.
6 You took us and the Lord as your model, welcoming the word with the joy of the Holy Spirit in spite ofgreat hardship.	6 E voi vi siete fatti imitatori nostri e del Signore, accogliendo la parola, pur in mezzo a molte tribolazioni, con la gioia dello Spirito Santo,
7 And so you became an example to al believers in Macedonia and Achaia	7 tanto da riuscir voi modello a tutti i credenti nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia.
8 since it was from you that the word of the Lord rang out -- and not only throughout Macedonia andAchaia, for your faith in God has spread everywhere. We do not need to tel other people about it:	8 Poichè da voi si divulgò la parola del Signore, non solo nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia, ma da per tutto si è sparsa la fede vostra in Dio, sicchè non occorre di riparlarne;
9 other people tel us how we started the work among you, how you broke with the worship of false godswhen you were converted to God and became servants of the living and true God;	9 giacchè la gente stessa riferisce di noi, quale accoglienza abbiamo avuto tra voi, e come vi siete dagli idoli convertiti a Dio per servire al Dio vivo e vero,
10 and how you are now waiting for Jesus, his Son, whom he raised from the dead, to come fromheaven. It is he who saves us from the Retribution which is coming.	10 e attendere dai cieli il Figlio di lui (ch'egli risuscitò dai morti), Gesù, il quale ci salverà dall'ira ventura.
