Ephesians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's holy people, faithful in Christ Jesus.	1 Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, a los santos y fieles en Cristo Jesús.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
3 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessingsof heaven in Christ.	3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos ha bendecido con toda clase de bendiciones espirituales, en los cielos, en Cristo;
4 Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love,	4 por cuanto nos ha elegido en él antes de la fundación del mundo, para ser santos e inmaculados en su presencia, en el amor;
5 marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was hispurpose and good pleasure,	5 eligiéndonos de antemano para ser sus hijos adoptivos por medio de Jesucristo, según el beneplácito de su voluntad,
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved,	6 para alabanza de la gloria de su gracia con la que nos agració en el Amado.
7 in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness ofthe grace	7 En él tenemos por medio de su sangre la redención, el perdón de los delitos, según la riqueza de su gracia
8 which he has showered on us in al wisdom and insight.	8 que ha prodigado sobre nosotros en toda sabiduría e inteligencia,
9 He has let us know the mystery of his purpose, according to his good pleasure which he determinedbeforehand in Christ,	9 dándonos a conocer el Misterio de su voluntad según el benévolo designio que en él se propuso de antemano,
10 for him to act upon when the times had run their course: that he would bring everything together underChrist, as head, everything in the heavens and everything on earth.	10 para realizarlo en la plenitud de los tiempos: hacer que todo tenga a Cristo por Cabeza, lo que está en los cielos y lo que está en la tierra.
11 And it is in him that we have received our heritage, marked out beforehand as we were, under the planof the One who guides al things as he decides by his own wil ,	11 A él, por quien entramos en herencia, elegidos de antemano según el previo designio del que realiza todo conforme a la decisión de su voluntad,
12 chosen to be, for the praise of his glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before hecame.	12 para ser nosotros alabanza de su gloria, los que ya antes esperábamos en Cristo.
13 Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the gospel of your salvation, and havingput your trust in it you have been stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit of the Promise,	13 En él también vosotros, tras haber oído la Palabra de la verdad, el Evangelio de vuestra salvación, y creído también en él, fuisteis sellados con el Espíritu Santo de la Promesa,
14 who is the pledge of our inheritance, for the freedom of the people whom God has taken for his own,for the praise of his glory.	14 que es prenda de nuestra herencia, para redención del Pueblo de su posesión, para alabanza de su gloria.
15 That is why I, having once heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for al God's holypeople,	15 Por eso, también yo, al tener noticia de vuestra fe en el Señor Jesús y de vuestra caridad para con todos los santos,
16 have never failed to thank God for you and to remember you in my prayers.	16 no ceso de dar gracias por vosotros recordándoos en mis oraciones,
17 May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perceptionof what is revealed, to bring you to ful knowledge of him.	17 para que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de la gloria, os conceda espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación para conocerle perfectamente;
18 May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his cal holds for you, how richis the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people,	18 iluminando los ojos de vuestro corazón para que conozcáis cuál es la esperanza a que habéis sido llamados por él; cuál la riqueza de la gloria otorgada por él en herencia a los santos,
19 and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers; this accords with thestrength of his power	19 y cuál la soberana grandeza de su poder para con nosotros, los creyentes, conforme a la eficacia de su fuerza poderosa,
20 at work in Christ, the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at hisright hand, in heaven,	20 que desplegó en Cristo, resucitándole de entre los muertos y sentándole a su diestra en los cielos,
21 far above every principality, ruling force, power or sovereignty, or any other name that can be named,not only in this age but also in the age to come.	21 por encima de todo Principado, Potestad, Virtud, Dominación y de todo cuanto tiene nombre no sólo en este mundo sino también en el venidero.
22 He has put al things under his feet, and made him, as he is above all things, the head of the Church;	22 Bajo sus pies sometió todas la cosas y le constituyó Cabeza suprema de la Iglesia,
23 which is his Body, the ful ness of him who is fil ed, al in al .	23 que es su Cuerpo, la Plenitud del que lo llena todo en todo.
