Galatians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 From Paul, an apostle appointed not by human beings nor through any human being but by JesusChrist and God the Father who raised him from the dead,	1 Pablo, Apóstol –no de parte de hombres ni por la mediación de un hombre, sino por Jesucristo y por Dios Padre que lo resucitó de entre los muertos–
2 and al the brothers who are with me, to the churches of Galatia.	2 y todos los hermanos que están conmigo, saludamos a las Iglesias de Galacia.
3 Grace and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ	3 Llegue a ustedes la gracia y la paz que proceden de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo,
4 who gave himself for our sins to liberate us from this present wicked world, in accordance with the wil ofour God and Father,	4 que se entregó por nuestros pecados para librarnos de este mundo perverso, conforme a la voluntad de Dios, nuestro Padre,
5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.	5 a quien sea la gloria para siempre. Amén.
6 I am astonished that you are so promptly turning away from the one who cal ed you in the grace ofChrist and are going over to a different gospel-	6 Me sorprende que ustedes abandonen tan pronto al que los llamó por la gracia de Cristo, para seguir otro evangelio.
7 not that it is another gospel; except that there are trouble-makers among you who are seeking to pervertthe gospel of Christ.	7 No es que haya otro, sino que hay gente que los está perturbando y quiere alterar el Evangelio de Cristo.
8 But even if we ourselves or an angel from heaven preaches to you a gospel other than the one wepreached to you, let God's curse be on him.	8 Pero si nosotros mismos o un ángel del cielo les anuncia un evangelio distinto del que les hemos anunciado, ¡que sea expulsado!
9 I repeat again what we declared before: anyone who preaches to you a gospel other than the one youwere first given is to be under God's curse.	9 Ya se lo dijimos antes, y ahora les vuelvo a repetir: el que les predique un evangelio distinto del que ustedes han recibido, ¡que sea expulsado!
10 Whom am I trying to convince now, human beings or God? Am I trying to please human beings? If Iwere stil doing that I should not be a servant of Christ.	10 ¿Acaso yo busco la aprobación de los hombres o la de Dios? ¿Piensan que quiero congraciarme con los hombres? Si quisiera quedar bien con los hombres, no sería servidor de Cristo.
11 Now I want to make it quite clear to you, brothers, about the gospel that was preached by me, that itwas no human message.	11 Quiero que sepan, hermanos, que la Buena Noticia que les prediqué no es cosa de los hombres, porque
12 It was not from any human being that I received it, and I was not taught it, but it came to me through arevelation of Jesus Christ.	12 yo no la recibí ni aprendí de ningún hombre, sino por revelación de Jesucristo.
13 You have surely heard how I lived in the past, within Judaism, and how there was simply no limit to the way I persecuted the Church of God in my attempts to destroy it;	13 Seguramente ustedes oyeron hablar de mi conducta anterior en el Judaísmo: cómo perseguía con furor a la Iglesia de Dios y la arrasaba,
14 and how, in Judaism, I outstripped most of my Jewish contemporaries in my limitless enthusiasm forthe traditions of my ancestors.	14 y cómo aventajaba en el Judaísmo a muchos compatriotas de mi edad, en mi exceso de celo por las tradiciones paternas.
15 But when God, who had set me apart from the time when I was in my mother's womb, cal ed methrough his grace and chose	15 Pero cuando Dios, que me eligió desde el seno de mi madre y me llamó por medio de su gracia, se complació
16 to reveal his Son in me, so that I should preach him to the gentiles, I was in no hurry to confer with anyhuman being,	16 en revelarme a su Hijo, para que yo lo anunciara entre los paganos, de inmediato, sin consultar a ningún hombre
17 or to go up to Jerusalem to see those who were already apostles before me. Instead, I went off toArabia, and later I came back to Damascus.	17 y sin subir a Jerusalén para ver a los que eran Apóstoles antes que yo, me fui a Arabia y después regresé a Damasco.
18 Only after three years did I go up to Jerusalem to meet Cephas. I stayed fifteen days with him	18 Tres años más tarde, fui desde allí a Jerusalén para visitar a Pedro, y estuve con él quince días.
19 but did not set eyes on any of the rest of the apostles, only James, the Lord's brother.	19 No vi a ningún otro Apóstol, sino solamente a Santiago, el hermano del Señor.
20 I swear before God that what I have written is the truth.	20 En esto que les escribo, Dios es testigo de que no miento.
21 After that I went to places in Syria and Cilicia;	21 Después pasé a las regiones de Siria y Cilicia.
22 and was stil unknown by sight to the churches of Judaea which are in Christ,	22 Las Iglesias de Judea y que creen en Cristo no me conocían personalmente,
23 they simply kept hearing it said, 'The man once so eager to persecute us is now preaching the faiththat he used to try to destroy,'	23 sino sólo por lo que habían oído decir de mí: «El que en otro tiempo nos perseguía, ahora anuncia la fe que antes quería destruir».
24 and they gave glory to God for me.	24 Y glorificaban a Dios a causa de mí.
