1 Brothers, my dearest wish and my prayer to God is for them, that they may be saved.	1 - Fratelli, il desiderio del mio cuore e la preghiera ch'io fo a Dio per loro, è per la loro salvezza.
2 I readily testify to their fervour for God, but it is misguided.	2 Poichè fo testimonianza per loro che hanno zelo di Dio, ma non secondo scienza.
3 Not recognising God's saving justice they have tried to establish their own, instead of submitting tothe saving justice of God.	3 Poichè ignorando la giustizia di Dio, e cercando di stabilire la propria, alla giustizia di Dio non si sono sottomessi.
4 But the Law has found its fulfilment in Christ so that al who have faith wil be justified.	4 Poichè Cristo è fine della Legge, per la giustizia di chiunque ha fede.
5 Moses writes of the saving justice that comes by the Law and says that whoever complies with it wilfind life in it.	5 Difatti Mosè scrisse che l'uomo che pratica la giustizia, quella che vien dalla Legge, vivrà in essa.
6 But the saving justice of faith says this: Do not think in your heart, 'Who wil go up to heaven?' --	6 E la giustizia dalla fede dice così: «Non dire nel tuo cuore: - Chi salirà al cielo? -», ciò è un trarne giù Cristo;
7 that is to bring Christ down; or 'Who wil go down to the depths?' -- that is to bring Christ back fromthe dead.	7 o: «Chi scenderà nell'abisso?», questo è un far risalir Cristo di tra i morti.
8 What does it say, then? The word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, theword of faith, the faith which we preach,	8 Ma che cosa dice la Scrittura? «Vicino a te è la parola, nella bocca tua e nel tuo cuore»; e questa è la parola della fede che noi annunziamo.
9 that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with your heart that Godraised him from the dead, then you wil be saved.	9 Se tu confessi nella bocca il Signore Gesù, e nel tuo cuore hai fede che Dio lo ha risuscitato da morte, sarai salvo;
10 It is by believing with the heart that you are justified, and by making the declaration with your lipsthat you are saved.	10 poichè col cuore si crede per la giustizia, e con la bocca si fa la confessione per la salute.
11 When scripture says: No one who relies on this wil be brought to disgrace,	11 Poichè dice la Scrittura: «Chiunque in lui crede non sarà svergognato».
12 it makes no distinction between Jew and Greek: the same Lord is the Lord of all, and his generosityis offered to al who appeal to him,	12 Giacchè non vi è distinzione di Giudeo e Greco. È lo stesso il Signore di tutti, ricco per tutti quelli che lo invocano.
13 for al who cal on the name of the Lord wil be saved.	13 Poichè «Chiunque invocherà il nome del Signore sarà salvo».
14 How then are they to call on him if they have not come to believe in him? And how can they believein him if they have never heard of him? And how wil they hear of him unless there is a preacher for them?	14 Come dunque invocheranno quello in cui non han creduto? e come crederanno in uno di cui non han sentito dir nulla? E come ne sentiranno parlare senza chi lo annunzi?
15 And how wil there be preachers if they are not sent? As scripture says: How beautiful are the feet ofthe messenger of good news.	15 E come lo annunzieranno se non sono stati mandati? Conforme sta scritto: «Come belle sono le orme di quelli che recano lieto annunzio di cose buone!».
16 But in fact they have not all responded to the good news. As Isaiah says: Lord, who has givencredence to what they have heard from us?	16 Ma non tutti hanno dato retta alla buona novella: Dice infatti Isaia: «Signore, chi ha creduto a quel che ha udito da noi?».
17 But it is in that way faith comes, from hearing, and that means hearing the word of Christ.	17 Adunque la fede vien dal sentir parlare, e il sentir parlare si fa per mezzo della parola di Cristo.
18 Wel then, I say, is it possible that they have not heard? Indeed they have: in the entire earth theirvoice stands out, their message reaches the whole world.	18 Ma, dico io: «Non hanno così sentito nulla?». Sicuro che hanno sentito: «Per tutta la terra si è sparsa la voce loro, e agli ultimi confini della terra abitata giunsero le loro parole».
19 Wel , another question, then: is it possible that Israel did not understand? In the first place Mosessaid: I shal rouse you to jealousy with a non-people, I shal exasperate you with a stupid nation.	19 Ma dico: «Forse non lo seppe Israele?». Mosè per il primo dice: «Io vi farò gelosi d'una nazione che non è nazione e contro una nazione che non è nazione e contro una nazione insipiente ecciterò il vostro sdegno».
20 And Isaiah is even bold enough to say: I have let myself be found by those who did not seek me; Ihave let myself be seen by those who did not consult me;	20 E Isaia osa dire: «Sono stato trovato da tali che non mi cercavano, e divenni manifesto a tali che non domandavan di me».
21 and referring to Israel, he says: Al day long I have been stretching out my hands to a disobedientand rebel ious people.	21 E ad Israele dice: «Tutto il giorno ho teso le mani a un popolo che non crede e contraddice».
