Romans 10

1 Brothers, my dearest wish and my prayer to God is for them, that they may be saved.	1 Fratelli, il desiderio del mio cuore, e l'orazione, che io fo a Dio, è per la loro salvezza.
2 I readily testify to their fervour for God, but it is misguided.	2 Imperocché io fo loro fede, che hanno zelo di Dio, ma non secondo la scienza.
3 Not recognising God's saving justice they have tried to establish their own, instead of submitting tothe saving justice of God.	3 Imperocché non conoscendo la giustizia di Dio, e cercando di stabilire la propria, non si sono soggettati alla giustizia di Dio.
4 But the Law has found its fulfilment in Christ so that al who have faith wil be justified.	4 Imperocché il termine della legge è Cristo per dar la giustizia a tutti coloro, che credono.
5 Moses writes of the saving justice that comes by the Law and says that whoever complies with it wilfind life in it.	5 Imperocché Mosé scrìsse, che l'uomo, il quale avrà adempiuta la giustizia, che vien dalla legge, per essa viverà.
6 But the saving justice of faith says this: Do not think in your heart, 'Who wil go up to heaven?' --	6 Ma la giustizia, che vien dalla fede, dice cosi: Non istare a dire in cuor tuo: chi salirà in cielo? Viene a dire per farne scendere il Cristo:
7 that is to bring Christ down; or 'Who wil go down to the depths?' -- that is to bring Christ back fromthe dead.	7 O chi scenderà nell'abisso? Viene a dire per risuscitare il Cristo da morte.
8 What does it say, then? The word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, theword of faith, the faith which we preach,	8 Ma che dice la scrittura? Tu hai presso di te la parola nella tua bocca, e nel cuor tuo: questa è la parola della fede, che noi predichiamo.
9 that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with your heart that Godraised him from the dead, then you wil be saved.	9 Perché se con la tua bocca confesserai il Signore Gesù, e crederai in cuor tuo, che Dio lo ha risuscitato da morte, e sarai salvo.
10 It is by believing with the heart that you are justified, and by making the declaration with your lipsthat you are saved.	10 Imperocché col cuore si crede a giustizia: e con la bocca si fa confessione a salute.
11 When scripture says: No one who relies on this wil be brought to disgrace,	11 Imperocché dice la scrittura: Chiunque in lui crede, non sarà confuso.
12 it makes no distinction between Jew and Greek: the same Lord is the Lord of all, and his generosityis offered to al who appeal to him,	12 Imperocché non vi ha distinzione di Giudeo, o di Greco: Conciossiachè lo stesso è il Signore di tutti, ricco per tutti coloro, che lo invocano.
13 for al who cal on the name of the Lord wil be saved.	13 Conciossiachè chiunque invocherà il nome del Signore, sarà salvo.
14 How then are they to call on him if they have not come to believe in him? And how can they believein him if they have never heard of him? And how wil they hear of him unless there is a preacher for them?	14 Ma come invocheranno uno, in cui non hanno creduto? E come crederanno in uno, di cui non hanno sentito parlare? Come poi ne sentiranno parlare senza chi predichi?
15 And how wil there be preachers if they are not sent? As scripture says: How beautiful are the feet ofthe messenger of good news.	15 Come poi predicheranno, se non sono mandati? Come sta scritto: Quanto sono belli i piedi di coloro, che evangelizzano novella della pace, che evangelizzano novella di felicità!
16 But in fact they have not all responded to the good news. As Isaiah says: Lord, who has givencredence to what they have heard from us?	16 Ma non tutti ubbidiscono all'Evangelio. Mentre Isaia dice: Signore, chi ha creduto quello, che ha sentito da noi?
17 But it is in that way faith comes, from hearing, and that means hearing the word of Christ.	17 La fede adunque dall'udito, l'udito poi per la parola di Cristo.
18 Wel then, I say, is it possible that they have not heard? Indeed they have: in the entire earth theirvoice stands out, their message reaches the whole world.	18 Ma, dico io: forse che non hanno sentito? Anzi per tutta la terra si è sparso il suono di essi, e le loro parole fino alle estremità della terra.
19 Wel , another question, then: is it possible that Israel did not understand? In the first place Mosessaid: I shal rouse you to jealousy with a non-people, I shal exasperate you with a stupid nation.	19 Ma, dico io: forse Israele non ne seppe nulla? Mosè è il primo a dire: Vi metterò a picca con una nazione che non è nazione: con una nazione stolta vi muoverò a sdegno.
20 And Isaiah is even bold enough to say: I have let myself be found by those who did not seek me; Ihave let myself be seen by those who did not consult me;	20 Isaia poi più francamente dice: Mi hanno trovato coloro, che non mi cercavano: mi sono fatto pubblicamente vedere a coloro, che non domandavano di me.
21 and referring to Israel, he says: Al day long I have been stretching out my hands to a disobedientand rebel ious people.	21 Ad Israele poi dice: Tutto il dì stesi le mani mie al popolo incredulo, e contraddittore.
