John 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there,	1 Tres días después se celebraba una boda en Caná de Galilea y estaba allí la madre de Jesús.
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.	2 Fue invitado también a la boda Jesús con sus discípulos.
3 And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had al been used, and the mother ofJesus said to him, 'They have no wine.'	3 Y, como faltara vino, porque se había acabado el vino de la boda, le dice a Jesús su madre: «No tienen vino».
4 Jesus said, 'Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.'	4 Jesús le responde: «¿Qué tengo yo contigo, mujer? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora».
5 His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever he tells you.'	5 Dice su madre a los sirvientes: «Haced lo que él os diga».
6 There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among theJews: each could hold twenty or thirty gal ons.	6 Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, puestas para las purificaciones de los judíos, de dos o tres medidas cada una.
7 Jesus said to the servants, 'Fil the jars with water,' and they fil ed them to the brim.	7 Les dice Jesús: «Llenad las tinajas de agua». Y las llenaron hasta arriba.
8 Then he said to them, 'Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.'	8 «Sacadlo ahora, les dice, y llevadlo al maestresala». Ellos lo llevaron.
9 They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it camefrom -- though the servants who had drawn the water knew -- the president of the feast cal ed the bridegroom	9 Cuando el maestresala probó el agua convertida en vino, como ignoraba de dónde era (los sirvientes, los que habían sacado el agua, sí que lo sabían), llama el maestresala al novio
10 and said, 'Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are wel wined; butyou have kept the best wine til now.'	10 y le dice: «Todos sirven primero el vino bueno y cuando ya están bebidos, el inferior. Pero tú has guardado el vino bueno hasta ahora».
11 This was the first of Jesus' signs: it was at Cana in Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciplesbelieved in him.	11 Así, en Caná de Galilea, dio Jesús comienzo a sus señales. Y manifestó su gloria, y creyeron en él sus discípulos.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, but theystayed there only a few days.	12 Después bajó a Cafarnaúm con su madre y sus hermanos y sus discípulos, pero no se quedaron allí muchos días.
13 When the time of the Jewish Passover was near Jesus went up to Jerusalem,	13 Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos y Jesús subió a Jerusalén.
14 and in the Temple he found people selling cattle and sheep and doves, and the money changerssitting there.	14 Y encontró en el Templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas en sus puestos.
15 Making a whip out of cord, he drove them al out of the Temple, sheep and cattle as wel , scattered themoney changers' coins, knocked their tables over	15 Haciendo un látigo con cuerdas, echó a todos fuera del Templo, con las ovejas y los bueyes; desparramó el dinero de los cambistas y les volcó las mesas;
16 and said to the dove sel ers, 'Take all this out of here and stop using my Father's house as a market.'	16 y dijo a los que vendían palomas: «Quitad esto de aquí. No hagáis de la Casa de mi Padre una casa de mercado».
17 Then his disciples remembered the words of scripture: I am eaten up with zeal for your house.	17 Sus discípulos se acordaron de que estaba escrito: El celo por tu Casa me devorará.
18 The Jews intervened and said, 'What sign can you show us that you should act like this?'	18 Los judíos entonces le replicaron diciéndole: «Qué señal nos muestras para obrar así?»
19 Jesus answered, 'Destroy this Temple, and in three days I will raise it up.'	19 Jesús les respondió: «Destruid este Santuario y en tres días lo levantaré».
20 The Jews replied, 'It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple: are you going to raise it up again inthree days?'	20 Los judíos le contestaron: «Cuarenta y seis años se han tardado en construir este Santuario, ¿y tú lo vas a levantar en tres días?»
21 But he was speaking of the Temple that was his body,	21 Pero él hablaba del Santuario de su cuerpo.
22 and when Jesus rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believedthe scripture and what he had said.	22 Cuando resucitó, pues, de entre los muertos, se acordaron sus discípulos de que había dicho eso, y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras que había dicho Jesús.
23 During his stay in Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover many believed in his name when they sawthe signs that he did,	23 Mientras estuvo en Jerusalén, por la fiesta de la Pascua, creyeron muchos en su nombre al ver las señales que realizaba.
24 but Jesus knew al people and did not trust himself to them;	24 Pero Jesús no se confiaba a ellos porque los conocía a todos
25 he never needed evidence about anyone; he could tell what someone had within.	25 y no tenía necesidad de que se le diera testimonio acerca de los hombres, pues él conocía lo que hay en el hombre.
