Deuteronomy 24

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 'Suppose a man has taken a wife and consummated the marriage; but she has not pleased him andhe has found some impropriety of which to accuse her; he has therefore made out a writ of divorce for her andhanded it to her and then dismissed her from his house;	1 Se un uomo ha preso moglie e l'ha avuta con sè, ma essa non ha trovato grazia davanti ai suoi occhi per qualche cosa di turpe, egli scriverà un libello di ripudio, glielo consegnerà in mano e la manderà via di casa sua.
2 she leaves his home and goes away to become the wife of another man.	2 Però se essa, dopo essersene andata, prende un altro marito
3 Then suppose this second man who has married her takes a dislike to her and makes out a writ ofdivorce for her and hands it to her and dismisses her from his house or if this other man who took her as his wifedies,	3 che, portandole odio, le dà il libello del ripudio e la manda via di casa sua, o viene a morire,
4 her first husband, who has repudiated her, may not take her back as his wife now that she has beenmade unclean in this way. For that is detestable in Yahweh's eyes and you must not bring guilt on the countrywhich Yahweh your God is giving you as your heritage.	4 il primo marito non potrà riprenderla per moglie, essendo essa contaminata e divenuta abbominevole dinanzi al Signore. Così non macchierai di peccato la terra che il Signore sta per darti in possesso.
5 'If a man is newly married, he must not join the army, nor must he be pestered at home; he must beleft at home, free of al obligations for one year, to make his new wife happy.	5 Un uomo che difresco ha preso moglie non andrà alla guerra, nè gli sarà imposta alcuna carica pubblica; ma attenderà senza colpa alla sua casa, per star lieto per un anno colla sua moglie.
6 'No one may take a mil or a mil stone in pledge; that would be to take life itself in pledge.	6 Non prenderai in pegno la macina inferiore e la superiore, ciò ti darebbe in pegno la sua vita.
7 'If anyone is caught, having kidnapped one of his brother-Israelites, whether he makes him his slaveor sel s him, that thief must die. You must banish this evil from among you.	7 Se si troverà un uomo che, rapito un suo fratello dei figli d'Israele, lo vende e ne riceve il prezzo, sarà messo a morte. Così toglierai di mezzo a te l'iniquità.
8 'In a case of a virulent skin-disease, take care you faithful y observe and exactly carry out everythingthat the levitical priests direct you to do. You must keep and observe everything that I have commanded them.	8 Guardati diligentemente dal contrarre la piaga della lebbra, e fa tutto quello che t'insegneranno i sacerdoti della stirpe di Levi, secondo le prescrizioni che ho date loro e che tu adempirai esattamente.
9 Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam when you were on your way out of Egypt.	9 Ricordatevi di quello che il Signore Dio vostro fece a Maria durante il viaggio, dopo l'uscita dall'Egitto.
10 'If you are making your brother a loan on pledge, you must not go into his house and seize thepledge, whatever it may be.	10 Quando richiederai dal tuo prossimo qualche cosa che egli ti deve, non entrerai in casa sua a prendere il pegno,
11 You must stay outside, and the man to whom you are making the loan must bring the pledge out toyou.	11 te ne starai invece fuori, ed egli ti porterà fuori quel che avrà.
12 And if the man is poor, you must not go to bed with his pledge in your possession;	12 Ma se egli è povero, il pegno non passerà presso di te la notte,
13 you must return it to him at sunset so that he can sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it wil be anupright action on your part in God's view.	13 ma glielo renderai subito prima del tramonto del sole, affinchè egli, dormendo nella sua veste, ti benedica, e ciò ti sia ascritto a giustizia davanti al Signore Dio tuo.
14 'You must not exploit a poor and needy wage-earner, be he one of your brothers or a foreignerresident in your community.	14 Non negherai la mercede all'indigente e al povero, sia egli tuo fratello o un forestiero che abita con te nel paese e dentro le tue porte,
15 You must pay him his wages each day, not al owing the sun to set before you do, since he, beingpoor, needs them badly; otherwise he may appeal to Yahweh against you, and you would incur guilt.	15 anzi gli pagherai il salario del suo lavoro il giorno stesso, prima del tramonto del sole, perchè, essendo povero, sostenti con esso la sua vita e non gridi contro di te al Signore, e ti sia ascritto a peccato.
16 'Parents may not be put to death for their children, nor children for parents, but each must be put todeath for his own crime.	16 Non saranno messi a morte i padri per i figli, nè i figli per i padri; ma ciascuno morrà pel suo peccato.
17 'You must not infringe the rights of the foreigner or the orphan; you must not take a widow's clothesin pledge.	17 Non conculcherai i diritti del forestiero e dell'orfano, nè prenderai in pegno la veste alla vedova.
18 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt and that Yahweh your God redeemed you from that.That is why I am giving you this order.	18 Ricordati d'aver servito in Egitto, e che il Signore Dio tuo ti trasse di là: perciò ti comando di far questo.
19 'If, when reaping the harvest in your field, you overlook a sheaf in that field, do not go back for it. Theforeigner, the orphan and the widow shal have it, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in al yourundertakings.	19 Se, mietute le biade del tuo campo, per dimenticanza avrai lasciato un manipolo, non tornare a prenderlo; ma lascialo al forestiero, al pupillo, alla vedova, affinchè il Signore Dio tuo ti benedica in tutte le opere delle tue mani.
20 'When you beat your olive tree, you must not go over the branches twice. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	20 Dopo la raccolta delle ulive, non tornerai a prendere ciò che è rimasto sulle piante; ma lo lascerai al forestiero, all'orfano, alla vedova.
21 'When you harvest your vineyard, you must not pick it over a second time. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	21 Così quando vendemmierai la tua vigna, non starai a raccogliere i raspolli; ma li lascerai pel forestiero, per l'orfano e per la vedova.
22 'Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt. That is why I am giving you this order.'	22 Ricordati che anche tu fosti servo in Egitto, ed è per ciò che ti comando di far questo.
