Deuteronomy 24

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'Suppose a man has taken a wife and consummated the marriage; but she has not pleased him andhe has found some impropriety of which to accuse her; he has therefore made out a writ of divorce for her andhanded it to her and then dismissed her from his house;	1 Se un uomo prende una donna e la sposa, e questa non trova più favore ai suoi occhi perché egli ha trovato in essa qualcosa di sconveniente, le scriverà un atto di divorzio, glielo consegnerà in mano e la rinvierà da casa sua;
2 she leaves his home and goes away to become the wife of another man.	2 se poi lei, uscita dalla sua casa, andrà e sarà di un altro uomo
3 Then suppose this second man who has married her takes a dislike to her and makes out a writ ofdivorce for her and hands it to her and dismisses her from his house or if this other man who took her as his wifedies,	3 e anche questo secondo la odierà, le scriverà un atto di divorzio, glielo consegnerà in mano e la rinvierà da casa sua, oppure se questo secondo uomo che l'aveva sposata morirà,
4 her first husband, who has repudiated her, may not take her back as his wife now that she has beenmade unclean in this way. For that is detestable in Yahweh's eyes and you must not bring guilt on the countrywhich Yahweh your God is giving you as your heritage.	4 il primo marito che l'aveva mandata via non potrà riprenderla per moglie dopo che è stata contaminata. Ciò è un abominio al cospetto del Signore, e tu non macchierai di peccato la terra che il Signore tuo Dio ti dona in eredità.
5 'If a man is newly married, he must not join the army, nor must he be pestered at home; he must beleft at home, free of al obligations for one year, to make his new wife happy.	5 Se un uomo si è appena sposato, non andrà nell'esercito, né gli si imporrà alcun servizio; per un anno rimarrà libero a casa sua e allieterà la moglie che ha preso.
6 'No one may take a mil or a mil stone in pledge; that would be to take life itself in pledge.	6 Non si prenderanno in pegno le due mole o la mola superiore; sarebbe prendere in pegno la vita.
7 'If anyone is caught, having kidnapped one of his brother-Israelites, whether he makes him his slaveor sel s him, that thief must die. You must banish this evil from among you.	7 Se si sorprende un uomo che rapisce uno dei suoi fratelli tra i figli d'Israele, se lo assoggetta o lo vende, quel rapitore morirà. Estirperai il male in mezzo a te.
8 'In a case of a virulent skin-disease, take care you faithful y observe and exactly carry out everythingthat the levitical priests direct you to do. You must keep and observe everything that I have commanded them.	8 In caso di lebbra guarda di osservare bene e di fare tutto ciò che vi indicheranno i sacerdoti leviti: avrete cura di fare secondo ciò che io ho loro ordinato.
9 Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam when you were on your way out of Egypt.	9 Ricorda ciò che ha fatto il Signore tuo Dio a Maria, sul cammino, quando usciste dall'Egitto.
10 'If you are making your brother a loan on pledge, you must not go into his house and seize thepledge, whatever it may be.	10 Se fai un prestito qualsiasi al tuo prossimo, non entrerai in casa sua per prenderti il suo pegno;
11 You must stay outside, and the man to whom you are making the loan must bring the pledge out toyou.	11 rimarrai fuori e l'uomo al quale hai fatto il prestito ti porterà fuori il pegno.
12 And if the man is poor, you must not go to bed with his pledge in your possession;	12 Ma se è un uomo povero, non dormirai col suo pegno:
13 you must return it to him at sunset so that he can sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it wil be anupright action on your part in God's view.	13 devi restituirgli il pegno al tramonto del sole; dormirà nel suo mantello e ti benedirà e ciò sarà per te una giustizia al cospetto del Signore tuo Dio.
14 'You must not exploit a poor and needy wage-earner, be he one of your brothers or a foreignerresident in your community.	14 Non opprimerai il salariato povero e indigente né tra i tuoi fratelli né tra i forestieri che si trovano nella tua terra, entro le tue città.
15 You must pay him his wages each day, not al owing the sun to set before you do, since he, beingpoor, needs them badly; otherwise he may appeal to Yahweh against you, and you would incur guilt.	15 Ogni giorno gli darai la sua mercede; su di essa non tramonterà il sole, perché egli è povero e ad essa leva il suo desiderio; che non gridi contro di te al Signore e in te non ci sia peccato.
16 'Parents may not be put to death for their children, nor children for parents, but each must be put todeath for his own crime.	16 Non saranno messi a morte i padri a causa dei figli né i figli saranno messi a morte a causa dei padri; ognuno sarà messo a morte per il proprio peccato.
17 'You must not infringe the rights of the foreigner or the orphan; you must not take a widow's clothesin pledge.	17 Non lederai il diritto del forestiero e dell'orfano e non prenderai in pegno la veste della vedova.
18 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt and that Yahweh your God redeemed you from that.That is why I am giving you this order.	18 Ricordati che sei stato schiavo in Egitto e te ne ha liberato il Signore tuo Dio; perciò ti prescrivo di fare questo.
19 'If, when reaping the harvest in your field, you overlook a sheaf in that field, do not go back for it. Theforeigner, the orphan and the widow shal have it, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in al yourundertakings.	19 Quando raccogli la messe nel campo e dimentichi nel campo un covone, non tornare a prenderlo; sarà per il forestiero, per l'orfano e per la vedova, affinché ti benedica il Signore tuo Dio in ogni opera delle tue mani.
20 'When you beat your olive tree, you must not go over the branches twice. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	20 Quando abbacchi il tuo olivo, non ripassare ciò che resta indietro: sarà per il forestiero, per l'orfano e per la vedova.
21 'When you harvest your vineyard, you must not pick it over a second time. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	21 Quando vendemmi la tua vigna, non tornare indietro a racimolare; sarà per il forestiero, per l'orfano e per la vedova.
22 'Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt. That is why I am giving you this order.'	22 Ricordati che sei stato schiavo in Egitto; perciò ti prescrivo di fare questo.
