Deuteronomy 24

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 'Suppose a man has taken a wife and consummated the marriage; but she has not pleased him andhe has found some impropriety of which to accuse her; he has therefore made out a writ of divorce for her andhanded it to her and then dismissed her from his house;	1 QUANDO alcuno avrà presa moglie, e sarà abitato con lei; se poi ella non gli aggrada, perchè egli avrà trovata in lei alcuna cosa brutta; scrivale il libello del ripudio, e diaglielo in mano; e così mandila fuor di casa sua.
2 she leaves his home and goes away to become the wife of another man.	2 E s’ella, essendo uscita di casa di colui, e andatasene, si marita ad un altro uomo;
3 Then suppose this second man who has married her takes a dislike to her and makes out a writ ofdivorce for her and hands it to her and dismisses her from his house or if this other man who took her as his wifedies,	3 e quest’ultimo marito prende ad odiarla, e le scrive il libello del ripudio, e glielo dà in mano, e la manda fuor di casa sua; ovvero, quest’ultimo marito, che se l’avea presa per moglie, muore;
4 her first husband, who has repudiated her, may not take her back as his wife now that she has beenmade unclean in this way. For that is detestable in Yahweh's eyes and you must not bring guilt on the countrywhich Yahweh your God is giving you as your heritage.	4 non possa il suo primiero marito, il qual l’avea mandata via, tornare a prenderla per essergli moglie, dopo che avrà fatto ch’ella si sia contaminata; perchè ciò è cosa abbominevole nel cospetto del Signore; e non far sì che il paese che il Signore Iddio tuo ti dà in eredità, sia reo di peccato
5 'If a man is newly married, he must not join the army, nor must he be pestered at home; he must beleft at home, free of al obligations for one year, to make his new wife happy.	5 Quando alcuno avrà presa novellamente moglie, non vada alla guerra, e non siagli imposto affare alcuno; stia esente in casa sua un anno, e sollazzi la sua moglie ch’egli avrà presa.
6 'No one may take a mil or a mil stone in pledge; that would be to take life itself in pledge.	6 NON prenda alcuno in pegno macine, non pur la mola disopra; perciocchè egli prenderebbe in pegno la vita del suo prossimo.
7 'If anyone is caught, having kidnapped one of his brother-Israelites, whether he makes him his slaveor sel s him, that thief must die. You must banish this evil from among you.	7 Quando si troverà alcuno che abbia rubato un uomo d’infra i suoi fratelli, figliuoli d’Israele, e ne abbia fatto traffico, e l’abbia venduto, muoia quel ladro; e togli il mal del mezzo di te.
8 'In a case of a virulent skin-disease, take care you faithful y observe and exactly carry out everythingthat the levitical priests direct you to do. You must keep and observe everything that I have commanded them.	8 Prendi guardia alla piaga della lebbra, per osservar diligentemente di far secondo tutto ciò che i sacerdoti Leviti vi avranno insegnato; prendete guardia di fare come io ho loro comandato.
9 Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam when you were on your way out of Egypt.	9 Ricordati di ciò che il Signore Iddio tuo fece a Maria, nel cammino, dopo che foste usciti di Egitto.
10 'If you are making your brother a loan on pledge, you must not go into his house and seize thepledge, whatever it may be.	10 Quando tu farai alcun presto al tuo prossimo, non entrare in casa sua, per prender pegno da lui.
11 You must stay outside, and the man to whom you are making the loan must bring the pledge out toyou.	11 Stattene fuori, e portiti colui, al qual tu farai il presto, il pegno fuori.
12 And if the man is poor, you must not go to bed with his pledge in your possession;	12 E s’egli è povero uomo, non ti porre a giacere, avendo ancora il suo pegno.
13 you must return it to him at sunset so that he can sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it wil be anupright action on your part in God's view.	13 Del tutto rendigli il pegno, al tramontar del sole; acciocchè egli possa giacer ne’ suoi panni, e ti benedica; e ciò ti sarà giustizia nel cospetto del Signore Iddio tuo
14 'You must not exploit a poor and needy wage-earner, be he one of your brothers or a foreignerresident in your community.	14 Non fraudare il mercenario povero e bisognoso, chi ch’egli si sia de’ tuoi fratelli, o de’ forestieri che saranno nel tuo paese, dentro alle tue porte.
15 You must pay him his wages each day, not al owing the sun to set before you do, since he, beingpoor, needs them badly; otherwise he may appeal to Yahweh against you, and you would incur guilt.	15 Dagli il suo premio al suo giorno, e non tramonti il sole avanti che tu gliel’abbia dato; conciossiachè egli sia povero, e che l’anima sua s’erga a quello; acciocchè egli non gridi contro a te al Signore, e non vi sia in te peccato.
16 'Parents may not be put to death for their children, nor children for parents, but each must be put todeath for his own crime.	16 Non facciansi morire i padri per li figliuoli, nè i figliuoli per li padri; facciasi morir ciascuno per lo suo proprio peccato.
17 'You must not infringe the rights of the foreigner or the orphan; you must not take a widow's clothesin pledge.	17 NON pervertire la ragione del forestiere, nè dell’orfano; e non prender in pegno i panni della vedova.
18 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt and that Yahweh your God redeemed you from that.That is why I am giving you this order.	18 E ricordati che tu sei stato servo in Egitto, e che il Signore Iddio tuo te ne ha riscosso; perciò io ti comando che tu faccia questo.
19 'If, when reaping the harvest in your field, you overlook a sheaf in that field, do not go back for it. Theforeigner, the orphan and the widow shal have it, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in al yourundertakings.	19 Quando tu avrai mietuta la tua ricolta nel tuo campo, e avrai dimenticata alcuna menata nel campo, non tornare indietro per prenderla; sia per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova; acciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo ti benedica in tutta l’opera delle tue mani.
20 'When you beat your olive tree, you must not go over the branches twice. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	20 Quando tu avrai scossi i tuoi ulivi, non ricercare a ramo a ramo ciò che vi sarà rimasto dietro a te; sia per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova.
21 'When you harvest your vineyard, you must not pick it over a second time. The foreigner, the orphanand the widow shall have the rest.	21 Quando tu avrai vendemmiata la tua vigna, non raspollare i grappoli rimasti dietro a te; sieno per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova.
22 'Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt. That is why I am giving you this order.'	22 E ricordati che tu sei stato servo nel paese di Egitto; per ciò io ti comando che tu faccia questo
