Deuteronomy 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 'You must love Yahweh your God and always keep his observances, his laws, his customs, hiscommandments.	1 - Ama dunque il Signore Dio tuo, ed osserva i suoi comandamenti e cerimonie e leggi ed ordinamenti, in ogni tempo.
2 You are the ones who have had the experience, not your children. They have not had the experience,they have not witnessed the lessons of Yahweh your God, his greatness, his mighty hand and his outstretchedarm,	2 Riconoscete oggi quelle cose che i figli vostri non conoscono perchè non le videro: i castighi del Signore Dio vostro, le sue opere grandi, la mano forte ed il braccio disteso;
3 the signs and the deeds which he performed in the heart of Egypt, against Pharaoh king of Egypt andhis entire country,	3 i prodigi e le operazioni che fece in mezzo all'Egitto, al re Faraone ed a tutta la sua terra,
4 what he did to the armies of Egypt, to their horses and their chariots, by overwhelming them with thewaters of the Sea of Reeds when they were pursuing you, and leaving no trace of them to this day;	4 a tutto l'esercito degli Egiziani, ai cavalli ed ai carri; come le acque del Mar Rosso li ricoprirono quando essi v'inseguivano, ed il Signore li ha sterminati sino ad oggi.
5 what he did for you in the desert, until you arrived here;	5 [Riconoscete] anche quello che ha fatto a voi nel deserto, sinchè giungeste qui;
6 what he did to Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when, with al Israel standinground, the earth opened its mouth and swal owed them, with their families, their tents and al their supporters.	6 e a Datan ed Abiron figli d'Eliab figlio di Ruben, i quali la terra, aperta la sua bocca, inghiottì insieme alle loro famiglie e tende e tutte le sostanze che possedevano, a vista d'Israele.
7 Al these great deeds of Yahweh you have seen with your own eyes.	7 Gli occhi vostri han veduto tutte le cose grandi che il Signore ha fatte
8 'You must keep al the commandments which I enjoin on you today, so that you may have the strengthto conquer the country into which you are about to cross, to take possession of it,	8 affinchè custodiate tutt'i suoi comandamenti quali io oggi vi notifico, entriate al possesso di quella terra alla quale siete per passare,
9 and so that you may live long in the country which Yahweh promised on oath to bestow on yourancestors and their descendants, a country flowing with milk and honey.	9 e viviate lungamente in essa, che il Signore con giuramento promise ai vostri padri di dare, terra dove scorrono il latte ed il miele.
10 'For the country which you are about to enter and make your own is not like the country of Egyptfrom which you have come, where, having done your sowing, you had to water the seed by foot, as though in avegetable garden.	10 La terra infatti nella quale sei per entrare a possederla, non è come la terra d'Egitto dalla quale venisti via, dove, fatta la sementa, si conducono in servizio degli orti le acque irrigue;
11 No, the country which you are about to enter and make your own, is a country of hills and val eyswatered by the rain of heaven.	11 ma è una terra di monti e di piani, che aspetta dal cielo le piogge,
12 Yahweh your God looks after this country, the eyes of Yahweh your God are always on it, from thebeginning of the year to the end.	12 ed il Signore Dio tuo sempre la visita, e gli occhi di lui stanno su d'essa, dal principio dell'anno sino alla fine.
13 Depend on it: if you faithfully obey the commandments I enjoin on you today, loving Yahweh yourGod and serving him with al your heart and al your soul,	13 Se dunque obbedirete a' miei comandamenti, quali io oggi v'impongo, d'amare il Signore Dio vostro, e di servire a lui con tutto il cuore e tutta l'anima vostra,
14 I shal give your country rain at the right time, rain in autumn, rain in spring, so that you can harvestyour wheat, your new wine and your oil.	14 darà alla vostra terra la pioggia al principio ed alla fine [della stagione], acciò raccogliate il grano, il vino, l'olio,
15 I shal provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat to your heart's content.	15 ed il fieno dei campi per pascer il bestiame, e voi stessi abbiate da mangiare e da satollarvi.
16 Beware of letting your heart be seduced: if you go astray, serve other gods and bow down to them,	16 Badate che il cuor vostro non resti sedotto, e non v'allontaniate dal Signore per servire a dèi stranieri e adorarli;
17 Yahweh's anger wil be kindled against you, he wil shut the heavens, there wil be no more rain, thesoil wil not yield its produce and, in the fine country given you by Yahweh, you wil quickly perish.	17 acciò il Signore sdegnato non chiuda il cielo, le piogge non cadano più, la terra non più dia il suo frutto, e voi non veniate presto a venir meno di su quell'ultima terra che il Signore è per darvi.
18 'Let these words of mine remain in your heart and in your soul; fasten them on your hand as a signand on your forehead as a headband.	18 Ponete queste mie parole nei vostri cuori e nelle anime vostre; legatele come ricordo alle vostre mani, e tenetele sotto i vostri occhi.
19 Teach them to your children, and keep on tel ing them, when you are sitting at home, when you areout and about, when you are lying down and when you are standing up.	19 Insegnate ai vostri figliuoli a meditarle, quando starete seduti nelle vostre case, e quando camminerete per via, quando andrete al riposo, e quando vi leverete.
20 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,	20 Le scriverai sulle soglie e sulle porte della tua casa;
21 so that you and your children may live long in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestorsthat he would give them for as long as there is a sky above the earth.	21 acciò si moltiplichino i giorni tuoi e dei tuoi figliuoli nella terra che il Signore giurò ai padri vostri di dar loro finchè il cielo stia sopra alla terra.
22 'For if you faithful y keep and observe al these commandments that I enjoin on you today, lovingYahweh your God, following all his ways and holding fast to him,	22 Che se osserverete i comandamenti ch'io vi dò, e li eseguirete in guisa che amiate il Signore Dio vostro, e camminiate in tutte le sue vie stretti a lui,
23 Yahweh wil dispossess al these nations before you, and you wil dispossess nations greater andmore powerful than yourselves.	23 disperderà il Signore dalla vostra presenza tutte queste nazioni, e voi le soggiogherete, sebbene siano di voi più numerose e più forti.
24 Wherever the sole of your foot treads wil be yours; your territory will run from the desert al the wayto the Lebanon; and from the River, from the River Euphrates, as far as the Western Sea, wil be your territory.	24 Tutto il territorio che i piedi vostri calcheranno sarà vostro. Dal deserto e dal Libano, dal gran fiume Eufrate sino al mare occidentale, s'estenderanno i vostri confini.
25 No one wil be able to resist you; Yahweh your God will make you feared and dreaded throughout theterritory you tread, as he has promised you.	25 Nessuno potrà resistervi a faccia; il Signore Dio vostro farà nascere il terrore e lo spavento di voi su tutta la terra dove porrete piede, conforme v'ha detto.
26 'Today, look, I am offering you a blessing and a curse:	26 Ecco, io metto oggi davanti a voi la benedizione e la maledizione:
27 a blessing, if you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God which I enjoin on you today;	27 la benedizione, se obbedirete ai comandamenti del Signore Dio vostro, quali oggi vi bandisco;
28 a curse, if you disobey the commandments of Yahweh your God and leave the way which today Ihave marked out for you, by following other gods hitherto unknown to you.	28 la maledizione, se non obbedirete ai comandamenti del Signore Dio vostro, v'allontanerete dalla via che ora v'insegno, per andar dietro agli dèi stranieri che ora non conoscete.
29 And when Yahweh your God has brought you into the country which you are about to enter andmake your own, you must set the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.	29 Quando poi il Signore Dio tuo ti avrà fatto entrar nella terra che tu vai ad abitare, porrai la benedizione sul monte Garizim, e la maledizione sul monte Hebal;
30 (These mountains, as everyone knows, are on the other side of the Jordan on the westward road, inthe territory of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, near the Oak of Moreh.)	30 son dessi al di là del Giordano, oltre la strada che mena ad occidente nella terra del Cananeo; questi dimora nelle pianure di contro a Galgala, presso la [così detta] Valle che si estende e s'avanza lontano.
31 For you are about to cross the Jordan, to enter and take possession of the country given you byYahweh your God. You wil possess it, you wil live in it,	31 Voi infatti passerete il Giordano, per prender possesso della terra che il Signore Dio vostro vi darà perchè l'abbiate e la possediate.
32 and you must keep and observe al the laws and customs promulgated by me to you today.'	32 Guardate dunque di osservare gli statuti e le leggi, che io oggi metterò dinanzi a voi.
