Mark 10

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 After leaving there, he came into the territory of Judaea and Transjordan. And again crowds gatheredround him, and again he taught them, as his custom was.	1 Partito di là, venne nella regione della Giudea e al di là del fiume Giordano. La folla accorse di nuovo a lui e di nuovo egli insegnava loro, come era solito fare.
2 Some Pharisees approached him and asked, 'Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?' They wereputting him to the test.	2 Alcuni farisei si avvicinarono e, per metterlo alla prova, gli domandavano se è lecito a un marito ripudiare la propria moglie.
3 He answered them, 'What did Moses command you?'	3 Ma egli rispose loro: «Che cosa vi ha ordinato Mosè?».
4 They replied, 'Moses al owed us to draw up a writ of dismissal in cases of divorce.'	4 Dissero: «Mosè ha permesso di scrivere un atto di ripudio e di ripudiarla».
5 Then Jesus said to them, 'It was because you were so hard hearted that he wrote this commandmentfor you.	5 Gesù disse loro: «Per la durezza del vostro cuore egli scrisse per voi questa norma.
6 But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female.	6 Ma dall’inizio della creazione li fece maschio e femmina;
7 This is why a man leaves his father and mother,	7 per questo l’uomo lascerà suo padre e sua madre e si unirà a sua moglie
8 and the two become one flesh. They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh.	8 e i due diventeranno una carne sola. Così non sono più due, ma una sola carne.
9 So then, what God has united, human beings must not divide.'	9 Dunque l’uomo non divida quello che Dio ha congiunto».
10 Back in the house the disciples questioned him again about this,	10 A casa, i discepoli lo interrogavano di nuovo su questo argomento.
11 and he said to them, 'Whoever divorces his wife and marries another is guilty of adultery against her.	11 E disse loro: «Chi ripudia la propria moglie e ne sposa un’altra, commette adulterio verso di lei;
12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another she is guilty of adultery too.'	12 e se lei, ripudiato il marito, ne sposa un altro, commette adulterio».
13 People were bringing little children to him, for him to touch them. The disciples scolded them,	13 Gli presentavano dei bambini perché li toccasse, ma i discepoli li rimproverarono.
14 but when Jesus saw this he was indignant and said to them, 'Let the little children come to me; do notstop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.	14 Gesù, al vedere questo, s’indignò e disse loro: «Lasciate che i bambini vengano a me, non glielo impedite: a chi è come loro infatti appartiene il regno di Dio.
15 In truth I tel you, anyone who does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child wil never enterit.'	15 In verità io vi dico: chi non accoglie il regno di Dio come lo accoglie un bambino, non entrerà in esso».
16 Then he embraced them, laid his hands on them and gave them his blessing.	16 E, prendendoli tra le braccia, li benediceva, imponendo le mani su di loro.
17 He was setting out on a journey when a man ran up, knelt before him and put this question to him,'Good master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?'	17 Mentre andava per la strada, un tale gli corse incontro e, gettandosi in ginocchio davanti a lui, gli domandò: «Maestro buono, che cosa devo fare per avere in eredità la vita eterna?».
18 Jesus said to him, 'Why do you cal me good? No one is good but God alone.	18 Gesù gli disse: «Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, se non Dio solo.
19 You know the commandments: You shal not kil ; You shal not commit adultery; You shal not steal;You shal not give false witness; You shal not defraud; Honour your father and mother.'	19 Tu conosci i comandamenti: Non uccidere, non commettere adulterio, non rubare, non testimoniare il falso, non frodare, onora tuo padre e tua madre».
20 And he said to him, 'Master, I have kept al these since my earliest days.'	20 Egli allora gli disse: «Maestro, tutte queste cose le ho osservate fin dalla mia giovinezza».
21 Jesus looked steadily at him and he was fil ed with love for him, and he said, 'You need to do onething more. Go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you wil have treasure in heaven;then come, fol ow me.'	21 Allora Gesù fissò lo sguardo su di lui, lo amò e gli disse: «Una cosa sola ti manca: va’, vendi quello che hai e dallo ai poveri, e avrai un tesoro in cielo; e vieni! Seguimi!».
22 But his face fel at these words and he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth.	22 Ma a queste parole egli si fece scuro in volto e se ne andò rattristato; possedeva infatti molti beni.
23 Jesus looked round and said to his disciples, 'How hard it is for those who have riches to enter thekingdom of God!'	23 Gesù, volgendo lo sguardo attorno, disse ai suoi discepoli: «Quanto è difficile, per quelli che possiedono ricchezze, entrare nel regno di Dio!».
24 The disciples were astounded by these words, but Jesus insisted, 'My children,' he said to them, 'howhard it is to enter the kingdom of God!	24 I discepoli erano sconcertati dalle sue parole; ma Gesù riprese e disse loro: «Figli, quanto è difficile entrare nel regno di Dio!
25 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter thekingdom of God.'	25 È più facile che un cammello passi per la cruna di un ago, che un ricco entri nel regno di Dio».
26 They were more astonished than ever, saying to one another, 'In that case, who can be saved?'	26 Essi, ancora più stupiti, dicevano tra loro: «E chi può essere salvato?».
27 Jesus gazed at them and said, 'By human resources it is impossible, but not for God: because forGod everything is possible.'	27 Ma Gesù, guardandoli in faccia, disse: «Impossibile agli uomini, ma non a Dio! Perché tutto è possibile a Dio».
28 Peter took this up. 'Look,' he said to him, 'we have left everything and fol owed you.'	28 Pietro allora prese a dirgli: «Ecco, noi abbiamo lasciato tutto e ti abbiamo seguito».
29 Jesus said, 'In truth I tell you, there is no one who has left house, brothers, sisters, mother, father,children or land for my sake and for the sake of the gospel	29 Gesù gli rispose: «In verità io vi dico: non c’è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa o fratelli o sorelle o madre o padre o figli o campi per causa mia e per causa del Vangelo,
30 who wil not receive a hundred times as much, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and land-- and persecutions too -- now in this present time and, in the world to come, eternal life.	30 che non riceva già ora, in questo tempo, cento volte tanto in case e fratelli e sorelle e madri e figli e campi, insieme a persecuzioni, e la vita eterna nel tempo che verrà.
31 Many who are first wil be last, and the last, first.'	31 Molti dei primi saranno ultimi e gli ultimi saranno primi».
32 They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem; Jesus was walking on ahead of them; they were in adaze, and those who fol owed were apprehensive. Once more taking the Twelve aside he began to tel themwhat was going to happen to him,	32 Mentre erano sulla strada per salire a Gerusalemme, Gesù camminava davanti a loro ed essi erano sgomenti; coloro che lo seguivano erano impauriti. Presi di nuovo in disparte i Dodici, si mise a dire loro quello che stava per accadergli:
33 'Now we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man is about to be handed over to the chiefpriests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death and wil hand him over to the gentiles,	33 «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme e il Figlio dell’uomo sarà consegnato ai capi dei sacerdoti e agli scribi; lo condanneranno a morte e lo consegneranno ai pagani,
34 who wil mock him and spit at him and scourge him and put him to death; and after three days he wilrise again.'	34 lo derideranno, gli sputeranno addosso, lo flagelleranno e lo uccideranno, e dopo tre giorni risorgerà».
35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him. 'Master,' they said to him, 'We want you todo us a favour.'	35 Gli si avvicinarono Giacomo e Giovanni, i figli di Zebedeo, dicendogli: «Maestro, vogliamo che tu faccia per noi quello che ti chiederemo».
36 He said to them, 'What is it you want me to do for you?'	36 Egli disse loro: «Che cosa volete che io faccia per voi?».
37 They said to him, 'Al ow us to sit one at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.'	37 Gli risposero: «Concedici di sedere, nella tua gloria, uno alla tua destra e uno alla tua sinistra».
38 But Jesus said to them, 'You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I shaldrink, or be baptised with the baptism with which I shal be baptised?'	38 Gesù disse loro: «Voi non sapete quello che chiedete. Potete bere il calice che io bevo, o essere battezzati nel battesimo in cui io sono battezzato?».
39 They replied, 'We can.' Jesus said to them, 'The cup that I shal drink you shal drink, and with thebaptism with which I shal be baptised you shal be baptised,	39 Gli risposero: «Lo possiamo». E Gesù disse loro: «Il calice che io bevo anche voi lo berrete, e nel battesimo in cui io sono battezzato anche voi sarete battezzati.
40 but as for seats at my right hand or my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those to whomthey have been al otted.'	40 Ma sedere alla mia destra o alla mia sinistra non sta a me concederlo; è per coloro per i quali è stato preparato».
41 When the other ten heard this they began to feel indignant with James and John,	41 Gli altri dieci, avendo sentito, cominciarono a indignarsi con Giacomo e Giovanni.
42 so Jesus cal ed them to him and said to them, 'You know that among the gentiles those they cal theirrulers lord it over them, and their great men make their authority felt.	42 Allora Gesù li chiamò a sé e disse loro: «Voi sapete che coloro i quali sono considerati i governanti delle nazioni dominano su di esse e i loro capi le opprimono.
43 Among you this is not to happen. No; anyone who wants to become great among you must be yourservant,	43 Tra voi però non è così; ma chi vuole diventare grande tra voi sarà vostro servitore,
44 and anyone who wants to be first among you must be slave to all.	44 e chi vuole essere il primo tra voi sarà schiavo di tutti.
45 For the Son of man himself came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom formany.'	45 Anche il Figlio dell’uomo infatti non è venuto per farsi servire, ma per servire e dare la propria vita in riscatto per molti».
46 They reached Jericho; and as he left Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus -- thatis, the son of Timaeus -- a blind beggar, was sitting at the side of the road.	46 E giunsero a Gerico. Mentre partiva da Gerico insieme ai suoi discepoli e a molta folla, il figlio di Timeo, Bartimeo, che era cieco, sedeva lungo la strada a mendicare.
47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout and cry out, 'Son of David, Jesus,have pity on me.'	47 Sentendo che era Gesù Nazareno, cominciò a gridare e a dire: «Figlio di Davide, Gesù, abbi pietà di me!».
48 And many of them scolded him and told him to keep quiet, but he only shouted al the louder, 'Son ofDavid, have pity on me.'	48 Molti lo rimproveravano perché tacesse, ma egli gridava ancora più forte: «Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!».
49 Jesus stopped and said, 'Cal him here.' So they cal ed the blind man over. 'Courage,' they said, 'getup; he is calling you.'	49 Gesù si fermò e disse: «Chiamatelo!». Chiamarono il cieco, dicendogli: «Coraggio! Àlzati, ti chiama!».
50 So throwing off his cloak, he jumped up and went to Jesus.	50 Egli, gettato via il suo mantello, balzò in piedi e venne da Gesù.
51 Then Jesus spoke, 'What do you want me to do for you?' The blind man said to him, 'Rabbuni, let mesee again.'	51 Allora Gesù gli disse: «Che cosa vuoi che io faccia per te?». E il cieco gli rispose: «Rabbunì, che io veda di nuovo!».
52 Jesus said to him, 'Go; your faith has saved you.' And at once his sight returned and he fol owed himalong the road.	52 E Gesù gli disse: «Va’, la tua fede ti ha salvato». E subito vide di nuovo e lo seguiva lungo la strada.
