Matthew 6

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 'Be careful not to parade your uprightness in public to attract attention; otherwise you wil lose al rewardfrom your Father in heaven.	1 Ügyeljetek, hogy igazvoltotokat ne az emberek előtt gyakoroljátok, hogy csodáltassátok magatokat velük, mert így nem lesz jutalmatok Atyátoknál, aki a mennyben van.
2 So when you give alms, do not have it trumpeted before you; this is what the hypocrites do in thesynagogues and in the streets to win human admiration. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.	2 Amikor tehát adakozol, ne kürtöltess magad előtt, ahogyan a képmutatók teszik a zsinagógákban és az utcákon, hogy dicsőítsék őket az emberek. 5 'And when you pray, do not imitate the hypocrites: they love to say their prayers standing up in thesynagogues and at the street corners for people to see them. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.	5 Mikor pedig imádkoztok, ne tegyetek úgy, mint a képmutatók, akik szeretnek a zsinagógákban és a terek sarkán állva imádkozni, hogy feltűnjenek az embereknek. 6 But when you pray, go to your private room, shut yourself in, and so pray to your Father who is in thatsecret place, and your Father who sees al that is done in secret wil reward you.	6 Te, amikor imádkozol, menj be a szobádba, zárd be az ajtódat, és így imádkozz Atyádhoz, aki a rejtekben van; akkor Atyád, aki lát a rejtekben, megfizet majd neked.

9 So you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be held holy,	9 Ezért ti így imádkozzatok: Mi Atyánk, aki a mennyekben vagy, szenteltessék meg a te neved;
10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.	10 jöjjön el a te országod; legyen meg a te akaratod, amint a mennyben, úgy a földön is.
11 Give us today our daily bread.	11 Mindennapi kenyerünket add meg nekünk ma;
12 And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those who are in debt to us.	12 és bocsásd meg vétkeinket, miképpen mi is megbocsátunk az ellenünk vétkezőknek;
13 And do not put us to the test, but save us from the Evil One.	13 és ne vígy minket kísértésbe; de szabadíts meg a Gonosztól.
14 'Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father wil forgive you yours;	14 Mert ha megbocsátjátok az embereknek botlásaikat, nektek is megbocsát a ti mennyei Atyátok.
15 but if you do not forgive others, your Father wil not forgive your failings either.	15 De ha nem bocsátotok meg az embereknek, Atyátok sem fogja megbocsátani nektek a ti botlásaitokat.
16 'When you are fasting, do not put on a gloomy look as the hypocrites do: they go about lookingunsightly to let people know they are fasting. In truth I tel you, they have had their reward.	16 Amikor böjtöltök, ne legyetek bús képűek, mint a képmutatók. Ők ugyanis elváltoztatják az arcukat, hogy böjtölésükkel feltűnjenek az emberek előtt. Bizony, mondom nektek: ők megkapták már jutalmukat.
17 But when you fast, put scent on your head and wash your face,	17 Te, amikor böjtölsz, kend meg a fejedet, az arcodat pedig mosd meg.
18 so that no one will know you are fasting except your Father who sees al that is done in secret; andyour Father who sees al that is done in secret wil reward you.	18 Ne lássák az emberek, hogy böjtölsz, csak Atyád, aki a rejtekben van; és Atyád, aki lát a rejtekben, megfizet majd neked.
19 'Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moth and woodworm destroy them andthieves can break in and steal.	19 Ne gyűjtsetek magatoknak kincseket a földön, ahol moly és rozsda emészt, ahol a tolvajok betörnek és lopnak.
20 But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor woodworm destroys them andthieves cannot break in and steal.	20 Gyűjtsetek magatoknak kincseket a mennyben, ahol sem moly, sem rozsda nem emészt, és ahol tolvajok nem törnek be és nem lopnak.
21 For wherever your treasure is, there wil your heart be too.	21 Mert ahol a kincsed van, ott lesz a szíved is.
22 'The lamp of the body is the eye. It follows that if your eye is clear, your whole body will be fil ed withlight.	22 A test világossága a szem. Ha tehát a szemed jó, egész tested világos lesz,
23 But if your eye is diseased, your whole body will be darkness. If then, the light inside you is darkened,what darkness that wil be!	23 de ha a szemed rossz, az egész tested sötét lesz. Ha pedig a benned lévő fény sötétség, mekkora lesz akkor a sötétség!
24 'No one can be the slave of two masters: he will either hate the first and love the second, or beattached to the first and despise the second. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money.	24 Senki sem szolgálhat két úrnak; mert vagy gyűlöli az egyiket, a másikat pedig szereti, vagy tiszteli az egyiket, a másikat pedig megveti. Nem szolgálhattok Istennek és a mammonnak.
25 'That is why I am tel ing you not to worry about your life and what you are to eat, nor about your bodyand what you are to wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body more than clothing!	25 Ezért azt mondom nektek: Ne aggódjatok az életetekért, hogy mit egyetek, se a testetekért, hogy mibe öltözködjetek. Nem több az élet az ételnél, a test pedig a ruhánál?
26 Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Fatherfeeds them. Are you not worth much more than they are?	26 Nézzétek az ég madarait: nem vetnek, nem aratnak, csűrökbe sem gyűjtenek, és a ti mennyei Atyátok táplálja őket. Nem értek ti sokkal többet ezeknél?
27 Can any of you, however much you worry, add one single cubit to your span of life?	27 Ki az közületek, aki aggodalmaskodásával képes az életkorához egyetlen könyöknyit hozzátenni?
28 And why worry about clothing? Think of the flowers growing in the fields; they never have to work orspin;	28 És a ruha miatt miért aggódtok? Nézzétek a mezők liliomait, hogyan növekszenek: nem fáradoznak és nem fonnak;
29 yet I assure you that not even Solomon in al his royal robes was clothed like one of these.	29 mégis, mondom nektek: még Salamon sem volt dicsősége teljében úgy felöltözve, mint egy ezek közül.
30 Now if that is how God clothes the wild flowers growing in the field which are there today and throwninto the furnace tomorrow, wil he not much more look after you, you who have so little faith?	30 Ha pedig a mezei füvet, amely ma van, és holnap a kemencébe vetik, Isten így felöltözteti, mennyivel inkább titeket, kishitűek?
31 So do not worry; do not say, "What are we to eat? What are we to drink? What are we to wear?"	31 Ne aggódjatok tehát és ne mondogassátok: ‘Mit együnk?’, vagy: ‘Mit igyunk?’, vagy: ‘Mibe öltözködjünk?’
32 It is the gentiles who set their hearts on al these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need themal .	32 Mert ezeket a pogányok keresik. Hiszen tudja a ti mennyei Atyátok, hogy mindezekre szükségetek van.
33 Set your hearts on his kingdom first, and on God's saving justice, and al these other things wil begiven you as wel .	33 Ti keressétek először az Isten országát és annak igazságát, és mindezt megkapjátok hozzá.
34 So do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow wil take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of itsown.'	34 Ne aggódjatok tehát a holnapért; a holnap majd aggódik önmagáért. Elég a napnak a maga baja.
