Zechariah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 E il Signore degli eserciti mi parlò e mi disse:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 « Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Io sono animato da glande zelo per Sion, e con indignazione grande ho esercitato il mio zelo verso di lei ».
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Io son tornato a Sion, e abiterò in mezzo di Gerusalemme, e Gerusalemme sarà chiamata la città della verità, e il monte del Signore degli eserciti (sarà chiamato) il monte santo ».
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Vi saranno ancora dei vecchi e delle vecchie per le piazze di Gerusalemme, ciascuno col bastone in mano pel gran numero degli anni.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 E le piazze della città saran piene di fanciulli e di fanciulle che si divertiranno nelle sue piazze ».
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Se questo sembrerà difficile agli occhi del resto di questo popolo in quel tempo, sarà forse difficile davanti a medico il Signore degli eserciti? »
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Ecco io salverò il mio popolo dalle terre d'oriente e dalle terre ove tramonta il sole,
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 e li ricondurrò ad abitare dentro Gerusalemme, e saranno mio popolo, ed io sarò loro Dio, nella verità e nella giustizia ».
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Prendan vigore le vostre braccia, o voi che ascoltate in questi giorni queste parole dalla bocca dei profeti, nel giorno in cui si son gettati i fondamenti della casa del Signore degli eserciti, per costruire il tempio.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 Infatti, prima di questi giorni gli uomini lavoravano invano, invano lavoravano le bestie, nè chi andava nè chi veniva aveva pace, a motivo della tribolazione, ed io lasciavo fare tutti gli uomini gli uni contro gli altri.
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Ma ora io non farò più come per il passato al resto di questo popolo — dice il Signore degli eserciti. —
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 Ma vi sarà il seme della pace: la vigna darà il suo frutto, la terra getterà i suoi germogli, i cieli daranno le loro rugiade, e di tutte queste cose ne darò il possesso ai resti di questo popolo.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 Ed avverrà che, siccome voi, o casa di Giuda, e voi, o casa d'Israele, eravate la maledizione fra le genti, così io vi salverò, e sarete la benedizione. Non temete: prendan vigore le vostre braccia.
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Perchè così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Come decisi di affliggervi, spiando i vostri padri mi provocarono a sdegno dice il Signore —
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 e non ebbi compassione, così, volgendomi (a voi) in questi giorni, ho deciso di far del bene alla casa di Giuda e a Gerusalemme: non temete.
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 Queste son dunque le cose che dovrete fare: dite la verità, ciascuno al suo prossimo; giudicate secondo la verità e per la pace rendete giustizia alle vostre porte,
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 e nessuno pensi nel suo cuore di far del male al suo amico; non amate i falsi giuramenti; perchè son tutte queste le cose che io odio — dice il Signore ».
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 E il Signore degli eserciti mi parlò e disse:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 « Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Il digiuno del quarto, il digiuno del quinto, il digiuno del settimo, il digiuno del decimo (mese) saran (cambiati) per la casa di Giuda in giorni di gaudio, di letizia e di solennità insigne; solamente amate la verità e la pace ».
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « Verranno ancora i popoli, e abiteranno molte città,
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 e gli abitanti dell'una andranno a dire agli abitanti dell'altra: « Andiamo a pregare davanti al Signore e a cercare il Signore degli eserciti». « Verrò anch'io ».
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 E molti popoli e nazioni potenti verranno a cercare il Signore degli eserciti in Gerusalemme a pregare davanti al Signore ».
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: « In quei giorni, dieci uomini di tutte le lingue delle nazioni prenderanno, prenderanno il lembo della veste d'un Giudeo, dicendo: « Noi verremo con voi: abbiamo sentito che Dio è con voi ».
