Zechariah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 - E la parola del Signore degli eserciti fu comunicata dicendo:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 «Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Io sono stato sempre geloso di Sion, sono stato geloso fino ad incollerire fortemente. -
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Io sono tornato a Sion e abiterò in mezzo a Gerusalemme, e Gerusalemme sarà chiamata città della verità e il monte del Signore degli eserciti, Monte santo. -
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Vi saranno ancora nelle piazze di Gerusalemme dei vecchi e delle vecchie e degli uomini che porteranno il bastone per la molta età.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 E le piazze della città saranno gremite di bambini e di fanciulle intenti a divertirsi. -
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Se questo è difficile agli occhi dei superstiti di questo popolo pei giorni avvenire, sarà forse difficile agli occhi miei? - dice il Signore degli eserciti.
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Ecco che io trarrò salvo il mio popolo dalla terra d'Oriente, e dalla terra dove cala il sole.
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 Li ricondurrò, e abiteranno in mezzo a Gerusalemme; essi saranno il popolo mio ed io sarò il loro Dio, nella verità e nella giustizia. -
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Si rafforzino le vostre mani, voi che in questi giorni ascoltate queste parole dalla bocca dei profeti che vi hanno parlato, nel giorno in cui furono gettati i fondamenti della casa del Signore degli eserciti, affinchè il tempio fosse riedificato.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 Giacchè prima di questi giorni non c'era mercede per gli uomini, non c'era mercede per i giumenti e quelli che andavano e venivano non erano sicuri dalle molestie; io aveva lasciato che tutti gli uomini si scagliassero gli uni contro gli altri.
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Ora invece non agirò più come per il passato coi superstiti di questo popolo, dice il Signore degli eserciti;
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 ma la sementa sarà prospera, la vigna darà il suo frutto, e la terra il suo prodotto, e i cieli la loro rugiada; e farò che le reliquie di questo popolo abbiano tutte queste cose.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 E avverrà che siccome voi, o Casa di Giuda, o casa d' Israele, eravate in maledizione fra le genti, così vi salverò e sarete in benedizione: non vogliate temere, rafforzate le vostre mani! -
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Perchè il Signore degli eserciti dice così: - Come io pensai di flagellarvi allorchè i vostri padri provocarono la mia ira, dice il Signore,
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 e non ho usato misericordia: così in questi giorni ho rivolto il mio pensiero a beneficare la casa di Giuda e Gerusalemme; non vogliate temere!
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 E voi farete questo che vi dico: ciascuno di voi parli la verità col suo prossimo; giudicate con verità e con intendimenti di pace alle vostre porte;
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 e che nessuno macchini del male in cuor suo contro il suo amico, e non amate il giuramento falso; perchè tutte queste cose io odio, - dice il Signore.
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 E la parola del Signore degli eserciti mi fu comunicata, dicendo:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 - Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: "Il digiuno del quarto e il digiuno del quinto e il digiuno del settimo e il digiuno del decimo mese, saranno per la casa di Giuda giorni di gaudio e di letizia, e di feste solenni: solo che voi amiate la verità e la pace!".
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: "Verranno ancora popoli e abitanti di molte città;
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 e andranno gli abitanti uno dall'altro dicendo: Andiamo a far suppliche alla presenza del Signore! Anch' io vengo!
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 E verranno molti popoli e nazioni potenti a cercare il Signore in Gerusalemme, e a fare orazione al suo cospetto".
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: " Saranno tempi quelli in cui dieci uomini di tutte le lingue straniere, afferreranno per la falda delle vesti un Giudeo, e lo afferreranno dicendogli: Vogliamo venire con voi, perchè abbiamo inteso che Dio è con voi!".
