Zechariah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 La palabra del Señor llegó en estos términos:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Siento un gran celo por Sión y ardo de pasión por ella.
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Así habla el Señor: Yo he vuelto a Sión, y habitaré en medio de Jerusalén. Jerusalén será llamada «Ciudad de la Fidelidad», y la montaña del Señor de los ejércitos, «Montaña Santa».
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Los ancianos y las ancianas se sentarán de nuevo en las plazas de Jerusalén, cada uno con su bastón en la mano, a causa de sus muchos años.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 Las plazas de la ciudad se llenarán de niños y niñas, que jugarán en ellas.
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Si esto parece imposible a los ojos del resto de este pueblo, ¿será también imposible para mí? –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Yo salvo a mi pueblo de los países del oriente. y de los países donde se pone el sol.
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 Los haré volver y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén. Ellos serán mi Pueblo, y yo seré su Dios, en la fidelidad y en la justicia.
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Que se fortalezcan las manos de ustedes, los que escuchan en estos días, de la boca de los profetas, estas palabras pronunciadas desde el día en que se pusieron los cimientos de la Casa del Señor de los ejércitos, para la reconstrucción del Templo.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 Porque antes de estos días no había salario para los hombres ni ración para los animales, ni había seguridad para los que iban y venían, a causa del enemigo: yo había lanzado a todos los hombres, unos contra otros.
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Pero ahora, yo no trataré al resto de este pueblo como en los tiempos pasados –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 Porque hay semillas de paz: la viña dará su fruto, la tierra sus productos y el cielo su rocío. Yo daré todo esto como herencia al resto de este pueblo.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 Y así como ustedes, pueblo de Judá y pueblo de Israel, fueron una maldición entre las naciones, así yo los salvaré, y ustedes serán una bendición. ¡No teman! ¡Que sus manos se fortalezcan!
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Así como yo había resuelto hacerles mal cuando sus padres me irritaban –dice el Señor de los ejércitos– y no me arrepentí,
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 así, en cambio, decidí en estos días hacer el bien a Jerusalén y al pueblo de Judá. ¡No teman!
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 Esto es lo que deberán practicar: díganse mutuamente la verdad y dicten en sus puertas sentencias que restablezcan la paz;
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 no piensen en hacerse mal unos a otros y no amen el falso juramento. Porque yo aborrezco todo eso –oráculo del Señor–.
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 «Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: El ayuno del cuarto, del quinto, del séptimo y el décimo mes se convertirán para la casa de Judá en alegría, en gozo y en hermosas solemnidades. ¡Pero amen la verdad y la paz!».
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Vendrán asimismo pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades.
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 Los habitantes de una ciudad irán a otra, diciendo: «Vamos a apaciguar el rostro del Señor y a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos; yo también quiero ir».
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 Pueblos numerosos y naciones poderosas vendrán a Jerusalén a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos y a apaciguar el rostro del Señor.
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: En aquellos días, diez hombres de todas las lenguas que hablan las naciones, tomarán a un judío por el borde de sus vestiduras y le dirán: «Queremos ir con ustedes, porque hemos oído que Dios está con ustedes».
