Zechariah 8

1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 E il Signore degli eserciti parlò, e disse:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Io ho avuto uno zelo grande per Sionne, e il mio zelo per lei accese in me grande indegnazione.
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti: Io sono tornato a Sionne, e abiterò nel mezzo di Gerusalemme, e Gerusalemme sarà chiamata città della verità, e il monte del Signor degli eserciti, monte santo.
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti: Vi saranno ancora dei vecchi, e delle vecchie donne nelle piazze di Gerusalemme, e degli uomini, che porteranno il bastone per la molta età loro.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 E le piazze della città saran piene i fanciulli, e fanciulle, che scherzeranno nelle sue piazze.
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti: Se questo parrà difficile in quel tempo nell'estimazione di quelli, che rimarranno di questo popolo, sarà egli difficile per me, dice il Signor degli eserciti?
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Ecco che io trarrò salvo il mio popolo dalle terre di oriente, e dalle terre di occidente.
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 Ed io li ricondurrò ad abitare in Gerusalemme: ed ei saranno mio popolo, ed io sarò loro Dio nella verità, e nella giustizia.
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti: Prendan vigore le vostre braccia, o voi, che in questi giorni ascoltate e queste parole dalla bocca dei profeti, ora che si son gettati i fondamenti della casa del Signore, e della fabbrica del tempio.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 Perocché prima di questi giorni gli uomini lavoravano senza prò, e le bestie lavoravano senza prò; e quelli, che andavano, e venivano, non aveano pace a motivo di quella tribolazione, e io lasciava, che tutti gli uomini s'inquietassero gli uni gli altri.
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Ma adesso non farò io come per lo passato alle reliquie di questo popolo, dice il Signore degli eserciti;
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 Ma saranno progenie di pace: la vigna darà il suo frutto, e la terra darà i suoi germi, e i cieli daranno le loro rugiade; e di tutte queste cose darò il possesso a questo popolo.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 E avverrà, che siccome voi, o casa di Giuda, ed o casa d'Israele, eravate maledizione presso le genti; così io vi salverò, e sarete benedizione; non temete; prendan vigore le vostre braccia.
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Perocché queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Siccome io risolvei di percuotervi, perchè ad ira mi provocarono i padri vostri, dice il Signore,
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 E non ebbi compassione: così volgendomi a voi in questi giorni, ho risoluto di benificare la casa di Giuda, e Gerusalemme: non temete.
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 Questo adunque è quello, che voi farete: Parli ciascuno di voi verità col suo prossimo: fate alle vostre porte giudizi di verità, e di pace.
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 E nissuno macchini in cuor suo ingiustizia contro il suo prossimo, e abbiate aversione ai falsi giuramenti; perocché tutte queste sono cose odiose a me, dice il Signore.
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 E il Signore degli eserciti parlommi, e disse:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Il digiuno del quarto, e il digiuno del quinto, e il digiuno del settimo, e il digiuno del decimo mese e saranno per la casa di Giuda giorni di gaudio, e di letizia, e d'insigne solennità: solo che voi amiate la verità, e la pace.
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Verranno ancora i popoli, e abiteranno molte città;
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 E gli abitanti dell'una anderanno a dire a quei dell'altra: Andiamo a fare orazione dinanzi al Signore, e cerchiamo il Signore degli eserciti: verremo anche noi.
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 E verranno molti popoli, e nazioni possenti a cercare il Signore degli eserciti in Gerusalemme, e a far orazione dinanzi al Signore.
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: (ciò sarà) quando dieci uomini di ogni lingua, di ogni nazione prenderanno pelle frange della veste un Giudeo, dicendo: Noi verremo con voi: perocché abitiamo inteso come o Dio è con voi.
