Zechariah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth came as fol ows:	1 LA parola del Signor degli eserciti mi fu ancora indirizzata, dicendo:
2 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I have been burning with jealousy for Zion, with furious jealousy for hersake.	2 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Io sono ingelosito di gran gelosia per amor di Sion, e sono stato geloso per essa con grande ira.
3 Yahweh says this: I am coming back to Zion and shal live in the heart of Jerusalem. Jerusalem wil becal ed Faithful City and the mountain of Yahweh Sabaoth, the Holy Mountain.	3 Così ha detto il Signore: Io son ritornato in Sion, ed abiterò in mezzo di Gerusalemme; e Gerusalemme sarà chiamata: Città di verità, e: Monte del Signor degli eserciti, Monte santo.
4 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Aged men and women once again wil sit in the squares of Jerusalem, eachwith a stick to lean on because of their great age.	4 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Ancora vi saranno de’ vecchi, e delle vecchie, che sederanno nelle piazze di Gerusalemme; e ciascuno avrà in mano il suo bastone, per la grande età.
5 And the squares of the city wil be full of boys and girls playing there.	5 E le piazze della città saran ripiene di fanciulli, e di fanciulle, che si sollazzeranno per le piazze di essa.
6 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: If this seems a miracle to the remnant of this people (in those days), wil itseem one to me? declares Yahweh.	6 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Se ciò par maraviglioso al rimanente di questo popolo in que’ giorni, sarà egli però impossibile appo me? dice il Signor degli eserciti.
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, I shal rescue my people from the countries of the east and from thecountries of the west.	7 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Ecco, io salvo il mio popolo dal paese del Levante, e dal paese del Ponente;
8 I shal bring them back to live in the heart of Jerusalem, and they will be my people and I shal be theirGod, faithful and just.	8 e li condurrò, ed abiteranno in mezzo di Gerusalemme, e mi saranno popolo; ed io sarò loro Dio, in verità, e in giustizia
9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Take heart, you who today hear these promises uttered by the prophetssince the day when the foundations of the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth were laid, that the sanctuary wouldindeed be rebuilt.	9 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Sieno le vostre mani rinforzate, o voi, che udite queste parole in questi tempi, dalla bocca de’ profeti, che sono stati nel giorno che la Casa del Signor degli eserciti, il tempio, è stata fondata, per esser riedificata.
10 For up to now, men were not paid their wages and nothing was paid for the animals either; and it hasnot been safe for anyone to come and go, because of the enemy, since I had set each one against everyoneelse.	10 Perciocchè, avanti questi giorni, non vi era alcun premio nè per uomini, nè per bestie e non vi era alcuna pace a chi andava, e veniva, per cagion del nemico; ed io mandava tutti gli uomini l’uno contro all’altro;
11 But from now on, I shal not treat the remnant of this people as I have treated them in time past --declares Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 ma ora, io non sarà al rimanente di questo popolo, come sono stato ne’ tempi addietro, dice il Signor degli eserciti.
12 Now they wil sow in peace; the vine will give its fruit, the soil wil give its produce and heaven will giveits dew. I shal bestow al these on the remnant of this people.	12 Perciocchè vi sarà sementa di pace; la vite porterà il suo frutto, e la terra produrrà la sua rendita, e i cieli daranno la lor rugiada; ed io farò eredar tutte queste cose al rimanente di questo popolo.
13 Just as once you were a curse among the nations, House of Judah and House of Israel, so now I shalsave you, and you wil be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Take heart!"	13 Ed avverrà che, come voi, o casa di Giuda, e casa d’Israele, siete stati in maledizione fra le genti, così vi salverò e sarete in benedizione; non temiate, sieno le vostre mani rinforzate.
14 'For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Just as I resolved to ill-treat you when your ancestors provoked me toanger and did not relent -- says Yahweh Sabaoth-	14 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore degli eserciti: Siccome io pensai d’affliggervi, quando i vostri padri mi provocarono a indegnazione, ha detto il Signor degli eserciti, e non me ne son pentito;
15 so now I have changed my mind and intend to treat Jerusalem and the House of Judah well. Do not beafraid!	15 così in contrario in questi tempi ho pensato di far del bene a Gerusalemme, ed alla casa di Giuda; non temiate.
16 "These are the things that you must do. Speak the truth to one another; at your gates, administer fairjudgement conducive to peace;	16 Queste son le cose che avete a fare: parlate in verità, ciascuno col suo compagno; fate giudicio di verità, e di pace, nelle vostre porte.
17 do not secretly plot evil against one another; do not love perjury; since I hate al this -- Yahwehdeclares." '	17 E non macchinate nel vostro cuore male alcuno l’un contro all’altro, e non amate il giuramento falso; perciocchè tutte queste cose son quelle che io odio
18 The word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows:	18 Poi la parola del Signor degli eserciti mi fu indirizzata, dicendo:
19 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventhand the fast of the tenth are to become glad, joyful, happy festivals for the House of Judah. So love truth andpeace!" '	19 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Il digiuno del quarto, e il digiuno del quinto, e il digiuno del settimo, e il digiuno del decimo mese, sarà convertito alla casa di Giuda in letizia, ed allegrezza, e in buone feste; amate dunque la verità, e la pace.
20 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In the future, peoples and citizens of many cities wil come;	20 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Ancora avverrà che popoli, ed abitanti di molte città, verranno;
21 and citizens of one city wil go to the next and say: We must certainly go to entreat Yahweh's favourand seek out Yahweh Sabaoth; I am going myself.	21 e che gli abitanti d’una città andranno all’altra, dicendo: Andiam pure a far supplicazione al Signore, ed a ricercare il Signor degli eserciti; anch’io vi andrò.
22 Yes, many peoples and great nations will seek out Yahweh Sabaoth in Jerusalem and entreatYahweh's favour."	22 E gran popoli, e possenti nazioni, verranno, per cercare il Signor degli eserciti, in Gerusalemme, e per far supplicazione al Signore.
23 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In those days, ten men from nations of every language will take a Jew bythe sleeve and say: We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you." '	23 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: In que’ tempi avverrà che dieci uomini, di tutte le lingue delle genti, prenderanno un uomo Giudeo per lo lembo della sua vesta, dicendo: Noi andremo con voi; perciocchè abbiamo udito che Iddio è con voi
