NEW JERUSALEMPeshitta
Look, the Day of Yahweh is coming, when the spoils taken from you will be shared out among you.1 ܗܐ ܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܬܬܦܠܓ ܒܙܬܟܝ ܒܟܝ
For I shal gather al the nations to Jerusalem for battle. The city wil be taken, the houses plundered, the women ravished. Half the city wil go into exile, but the rest of the people wil not be ejected from the city.2 ܘܐܟܢܫ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܩܪܒܐ ܘܬܬܚܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܢܬܒܙܘܢ ܒܬܐ ܘܢܫܐ ܢܨܛܥܪܢ ܘܢܦܘܩ ܦܠܓܗ̇ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܒܫܒܝܐ ܘܦܠܓܗ ܕܥܡܐ ܠܐ ܢܐܒܕ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ
Then Yahweh wil sal y out and fight those nations as once he fought on the day of battle.3
When that day comes, his feet will rest on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives wil be split in half from east to west, forming a huge val ey; half the Mount will recedenorthwards, the other half southwards.4 ܘܢܩܘܡܢ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܛܘܪܐ ܕܙܝܬܐ ܕܠܘܩܒܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܒܡܕܢܚܝܗ ܘܢܬܦܠܓ ܛܘܪܐ ܕܙܝܬܐ ܦܠܓܗ ܠܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܦܠܓܗ ܠܡܥܪܒܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܛܒ ܪܒ ܘܢܫܬܒܩ ܦܠܓܗ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܠܓܪܒܝܐ ܘܦܠܓܗ ܠܬܝܡܢܐ
The valley between the hills wil be fil ed in, yes, it will be blocked as far as Jasol, it wil be fil ed in as it was by the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. And Yahweh my God will come, and al the holyones with him.5 ܘܬܥܪܩܘܢ ܠܢܚܠܐ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܢܡܛܐ ܢܚܠܗܘܢ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܠܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܘܬܥܪܩܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܪܩܬܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܙܘܥܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܘܗܝ ܕܥܘܙܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܢܥܘܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܩܕܝܫܘܗܝ ܥܡܗ
That Day, there wil be no light, but only cold and frost.6 ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܥܪܝܐ ܘܓܠܝܕܐ
And it wil be one continuous day -- Yahweh knows -- there will be no more day and night, and it wilremain light right into the time of evening.7 ܘܢܗܘܐ ܝܘܡܐ ܚܕ ܘܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܢܬܝܕܥ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܠܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܠܥܕܢ ܪܡܫܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ
When that Day comes, living waters wil issue from Jerusalem, half towards the eastern sea, halftowards the western sea; they will flow summer and winter.8 ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܢܦܩܘܢ ܡܝܐ ܚܝܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܦܠܓܗܘܢ ܠܝܡܐ ܡܕܢܚܝܐ ܘܦܠܓܗܘܢ ܠܝܡܐ ܡܥܪܒܝܐ ܩܝܛܐ ܘܣܬܘܐ
Then Yahweh wil become king of the whole world. When that Day comes, Yahweh will be the one andonly and his name the one name.9
The entire country wil be transformed into plain, from Geba to Rimmon in the Negeb, but Jerusalemwil stand high in her place and be full of people from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the earlier gate, to theCorner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king's wine-presses.10 ܘܢܚܕܪܝܗ ܠܟܘܠܗ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܝܟ ܦܩܥܬܐ ܕܡܢ ܓܒܥ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܪܡܘܢ ܕܒܬܝܡܢܝܗ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܬܬܪܝܡ ܘܬܬܒ ܒܕܘܟܬܗ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܕܬܪܥܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܬܪܥܐ ܕܙܘܝܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܓܕܠܐ ܕܚܢܢܐܝܠ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܥܨܪܬܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ
People wil make their homes there. The curse of destruction will be lifted; Jerusalem wil be safe tolive in.11 ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܗ ܘܬܘܒ ܚܪܡܐ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܘܬܬܒ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܒܫܠܝܐ
And this is the plague with which Yahweh will strike al the nations who have fought againstJerusalem; their flesh wil rot while they are stil standing on their feet; their eyes wil rot in their sockets; theirtongues wil rot in their mouths.12 ܘܗܕܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܡܚܘܬܐ ܕܢܡܚܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܡܬܚܝܠܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܢܬܡܣܐ ܒܣܪܗܘܢ ܟܕ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܥܠ ܪܓܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܥܝܢܝܗܘܢ ܢܬܡܣܝܢ ܒܕܘܟܝܬܗܝܢ ܘܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܢܬܡܣܐ ܒܦܘܡܗܘܢ
When that Day comes, a great terror will fal on them from Yahweh; each man wil grab hisneighbour's hand and they wil fal to fighting among themselves.13 ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܬܘܗܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܐܚܕܘܢ ܐܢܫ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܘܬܕܒܩ ܐܝܕܗ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܚܒܪܗ
Even Judah will fight against Jerusalem. The wealth of al the surrounding nations wil be heapedtogether: gold, silver, clothing, in vast quantity.14 ܘܐܦ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܢܬܟܬܫ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܢܟܢܫ ܩܢܝܢܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܚܕܝܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܣܐܡܐ ܘܢܚܬܐ ܕܛܒ ܣܓܝܐܝܢ
And the plague afflicting the horses, mules, camels, donkeys and al the other animals in thosearmies wil be the same.15 ܘܗܟܢܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܡܚܘܬܐ ܕܣܘܣܝܐ ܘܕܟܘܕܢܝܐ ܘܕܓܡܠܐ ܘܕܚܡܪܐ ܘܕܟܘܠܗ ܒܥܝܪܐ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܒܡܫܪܝܬܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܚܘܬܐ ܗܕܐ
After this, al the survivors of al the nations which have attacked Jerusalem wil come up year afteryear to worship the King, Yahweh Sabaoth, and to keep the feast of Shelters.16 ܘܢܗܘܐ ܟܠ ܕܡܫܬܚܪ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܢܣܩܘܢ ܡܢ ܫܢܐ ܠܫܢܐ ܠܡܣܓܕ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܥܕܥܐܕܐ ܕܡܛܠܠܐ
Should one of the races of the world fail to come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, YahwehSabaoth, there wil be no rain for that one.17 ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܣܩ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܡܣܓܕ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܚܘܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܛܪܐ
Should the race of Egypt fail to come up and pay its visit, on it wil fal the plague which Yahweh wilinflict on each of those nations which fail to come up to keep the feast of Shelters.18 ܘܐܢ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܣܩ ܘܠܐ ܬܐܬܐ ܐܦ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܡܚܘܬܐ ܕܢܡܚܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܣܠܩܝܢ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܥܕܥܐܕܐ ܕܡܛܠܠܐ
Such will be the punishment for Egypt and the punishment for all the nations which fail to come up tokeep the feast of Shelters.19 ܘܗܕܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܚܛܝܬܗ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܚܛܝܬܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܣܠܩܝܢ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܥܕܥܐܕܐ ܕܡܛܠܐ
When that Day comes, the very bel s on the horses wil be inscribed with the words, 'Sacred toYahweh', and the cooking pots of the house of Yahweh wil be as holy as the sprinkling bowls before the altar.20 ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܦܓܘܕܬܗ ܕܣܘܣܝܐ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܩܕܣܐ ܕܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܦܝܠܣܐ ܕܩܕܡ ܡܕܒܚܐ
Yes, every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shal be sacred to Yahweh Sabaoth, and al whocome to offer sacrifice will help themselves and do their cooking in them, and there wil be no more traders in the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth, when that Day comes.21 ܘܢܗܘܐ ܟܠ ܩܕܣܐ ܕܒܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܟܘܠ ܕܡܕܒܚܝܢ ܢܣܒܘܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܘܢܒܫܠܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܬܘܒ ܟܢܥܢܝܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ
