NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son ofJehozadak the high priest as fol ows,	1 No segundo ano do reinado de Dario, no primeiro dia do sexto mês, a palavra do Senhor foi dirigida pelo profeta Ageu ao governador de Judá, Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, e ao sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, nestes termos:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple ofYahweh." '	2 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: este povo diz: não é ainda chegado o momento de reconstruir a casa do Senhor.
3 (And the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai, as follows,)	3 E a palavra do Senhor foi transmitida pelo profeta Ageu:
4 'Is this a time for you to live in your panel ed houses, when this House lies in ruins?	4 É então o momento de habitardes em casas confortáveis, estando esta casa em ruínas? Eis o que declara o Senhor dos exércitos:
5 So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	5 considerai o que fazeis!
6 You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have yourfill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole init."	6 Semeais muito e recolheis pouco; comeis e não vos saciais; bebeis e não chegais a apagar a vossa sede; vestis, mas não vos aqueceis; e o operário guarda o seu salário em saco roto!
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	7 Assim fala o Senhor dos exércitos: refleti no que fazeis!
8 Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shal take pleasure in it and manifest myglory there -- Yahweh says.	8 Subi a montanha, trazei madeira e reconstruí a minha casa; ela me será agradável e nela serei glorificado, - oráculo do Senhor.
9 The abundance you expected proved to be little. When you brought the harvest in, I blasted it. Andwhy? - Yahweh Sabaoth declares. Because while my House lies in ruins, each of you is busy with his ownhouse.	9 Esperastes uma abundante colheita e esta foi magra; dissipei com um sopro o que queríeis armazenar. Por quê? - oráculo do Senhor. Porque minha casa está em ruínas, enquanto cada um de vós só tem cuidado da sua.
10 That is why the sky has withheld the rain and the earth withheld its yield.	10 Por isso o céu negou o seu orvalho e a terra, os seus frutos.
11 I have cal ed down drought on land and hil s, on grain, on new wine, on olive oil and on al the produceof the ground, on humans and animals and al your labours." '	11 Sequei terras e colinas, trigo, mosto e óleo, todo o fruto da terra, homens e animais, tudo o que produz o trabalho de vossas mãos.
12 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest and the entire remnant of thepeople, paid attention to the voice of Yahweh their God and to the words of the prophet Haggai, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to deliver. And the people were fil ed with fear before Yahweh.	12 Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, com o sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, e todo o resto do povo, ouviram a voz do Senhor seu Deus, e as palavras que lhes dirigiu o profeta Ageu da parte do Senhor. E todo o povo temeu o Senhor.
13 Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, then passed on Yahweh's message to the people, 'I am with you-- declares Yahweh.'	13 Ageu, enviado do Senhor, falou ao povo segundo o mandato que ele tinha recebido do Senhor: Estou convosco - oráculo do Senhor.
14 And Yahweh roused the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, the spirit of Joshuason of Jehozadak the high priest and the spirit of the entire remnant of the people; they came and set to work inthe Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth, their God.	14 Então o Senhor inspirou coragem a Zorobabel, filho de Salatiel, governador de Judá, e ao sumo sacerdote Josué, filho de Josedec, bem como a todo o resto do povo: todos puseram-se a trabalhar na construção da casa do Senhor dos exércitos, seu Deus,
15 This was on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. In the second year of King Darius,	15 aos vinte e quatro dias do sexto mês.
