NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son ofJehozadak the high priest as fol ows,	1 Il secondo anno del re Dario, il sesto mese, il primo giorno del mese, fu rivolta la parola del Signore, per mezzo del profeta Aggeo, a Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, governatore di Giuda, e a Giosuè, figlio di Iozedàk, grande sacerdote:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple ofYahweh." '	2 "Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Questo popolo dice: "Il momento di ricostruire la casa del Signore non è ancora venuto!".
3 (And the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai, as follows,)	3 La parola del Signore fu rivolta per mezzo del profeta Aggeo:
4 'Is this a time for you to live in your panel ed houses, when this House lies in ruins?	4 "E' dunque il momento per voi di starvene in case rivestite di legno quando questa casa è devastata?
5 So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	5 Ora così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Badate a quello che fate!
6 You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have yourfill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole init."	6 Voi seminate molto, ma il frutto è poco; mangiate, ma non a sazietà; bevete, ma non fino all'ebbrezza; vi vestite, ma senza riscaldarvi e il salariato riceve il salario per gettarlo in una borsa sfondata!".
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	7 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti:
8 Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shal take pleasure in it and manifest myglory there -- Yahweh says.	8 Salite alla montagna per trasportare il legname e ricostruire la casa! Io porrò in essa le mie compiacenze e sarò glorificato, dice il Signore.
9 The abundance you expected proved to be little. When you brought the harvest in, I blasted it. Andwhy? - Yahweh Sabaoth declares. Because while my House lies in ruins, each of you is busy with his ownhouse.	9 Voi aspettavate molto e invece c'è stato poco; e quando lo portavate in casa, io ci ho soffiato sopra! Perché? Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti. A cagione della mia casa che è in rovina, mentre ciascuno di voi si dà tanta premura per sé.
10 That is why the sky has withheld the rain and the earth withheld its yield.	10 Per questo il cielo ha ricusato la sua rugiada e la terra i suoi frutti.
11 I have cal ed down drought on land and hil s, on grain, on new wine, on olive oil and on al the produceof the ground, on humans and animals and al your labours." '	11 Io ho chiamato la siccità sui campi e sui monti, sul grano, sull'olio e su quanto il suolo produce; sugli uomini, sul bestiame e su tutto il lavoro delle mani.
12 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest and the entire remnant of thepeople, paid attention to the voice of Yahweh their God and to the words of the prophet Haggai, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to deliver. And the people were fil ed with fear before Yahweh.	12 Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, e Giosuè, figlio di Iozedàk, grande sacerdote e tutto il resto del popolo dettero ascolto alla voce del Signore, loro Dio, e alle parole del profeta Aggeo, per le quali il Signore l'aveva ad essi inviato; il popolo temette il Signore.
13 Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, then passed on Yahweh's message to the people, 'I am with you-- declares Yahweh.'	13 E Aggeo, messaggero del Signore, disse al popolo nella sua qualità di messaggero di lui: "Io sono con voi". Oracolo del Signore.
14 And Yahweh roused the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, the spirit of Joshuason of Jehozadak the high priest and the spirit of the entire remnant of the people; they came and set to work inthe Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth, their God.	14 Il Signore ridestò lo spirito di Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, governatore della Giudea, e lo spirito di Giosuè, figlio di Iozedàk, grande sacerdote, e lo spirito di tutto il resto del popolo. Essi vennero e misero mano ai lavori nella casa del Signore degli eserciti, loro Dio.
15 This was on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. In the second year of King Darius,	15 Era il ventiquattro del sesto mese del secondo anno del re Dario.
