Haggai 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son ofJehozadak the high priest as fol ows,	1 El año segundo del rey Darío, el día uno del sexto mes, fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh, por medio del profeta Ageo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, gobernador de Judá, ya a Josué, hijo de Yehosadaq, sumo sacerdote, en estos términos:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple ofYahweh." '	2 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Este pueblo dice: «¡Todavía no ha llegado el momento de reedificar la Casa de Yahveh!»
3 (And the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai, as follows,)	3 (Fue, pues, dirigida la palabra de Yahveh, por medio del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:)
4 'Is this a time for you to live in your panel ed houses, when this House lies in ruins?	4 ¿Es acaso para vosotros el momento de habitar en vuestras casas artesonadas, mientras esta Casa está en ruinas?
5 So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	5 Ahora pues, así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Aplicad vuestro corazón a vuestros caminos.
6 You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have yourfill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole init."	6 Habéis sembrado mucho, pero cosecha poca; habéis comido, pero sin quitar el hambre; habéis bebido, pero sin quitar la sed; os habéis vestido, mas sin calentaros, y el jornalero ha metido su jornal en bolsa rota.
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	7 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Aplicad vuestro corazón a vuestros caminos.
8 Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shal take pleasure in it and manifest myglory there -- Yahweh says.	8 Subid a la montaña, traed madera, reedificad la Casa, y yo la aceptaré gustoso y me sentiré honrado, dice Yahveh.
9 The abundance you expected proved to be little. When you brought the harvest in, I blasted it. Andwhy? - Yahweh Sabaoth declares. Because while my House lies in ruins, each of you is busy with his ownhouse.	9 Esperabais mucho, y bien poco es lo que hay. Y lo que metisteis en casa lo aventé yo. ¿Por qué? - oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot - porque mi Casa está en ruinas, mientras que vosotros vais aprisa cada uno a vuestra casa.
10 That is why the sky has withheld the rain and the earth withheld its yield.	10 Por eso, por culpa vuestra, los cielos han negado la lluvia y la tierra ha negado su producto.
11 I have cal ed down drought on land and hil s, on grain, on new wine, on olive oil and on al the produceof the ground, on humans and animals and al your labours." '	11 Yo he llamado a la sequía sobre la tierra y sobre los montes, sobre el trigo, el mosto y el aceite, sobre todo lo que produce el suelo, sobre los hombres y el ganado, y sobre todo trabajo de manos.
12 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest and the entire remnant of thepeople, paid attention to the voice of Yahweh their God and to the words of the prophet Haggai, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to deliver. And the people were fil ed with fear before Yahweh.	12 Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, Josué, hijo de Yehosadaq, sumo sacerdote, y todo el Resto del pueblo escucharon la voz de Yahveh, su Dios, y las palabras del profeto Ageo, según la misión que Yahveh su Dios le había encomendado, y temió el pueblo delante de Yahveh.
13 Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, then passed on Yahweh's message to the people, 'I am with you-- declares Yahweh.'	13 Entonces Ageo, el mensajero de Yahveh, habló así al pueblo, en virtud del mensaje de Yahveh: «Yo estoy con vosotros, oráculo de Yahveh».
14 And Yahweh roused the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, the spirit of Joshuason of Jehozadak the high priest and the spirit of the entire remnant of the people; they came and set to work inthe Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth, their God.	14 Y movió Yahveh el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, gobernador de Judá, el espíritu de Josué, hijo de Yehosadaq, sumo sacerdote, y el espíritu de todo el Resto del pueblo. Y vinieron y emprendieron la obra en la Casa de Yahveh Sebaot, su Dios.
15 This was on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. In the second year of King Darius,	15 Era el día veinticuatro del sexto mes.
