1 In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah and to Joshua son ofJehozadak the high priest as fol ows,	1 - L'anno secondo del re Dario, il sesto mese, nel primo giorno del mese, la parola del Signore fu comunicata da Aggeo profeta a Zorobabel, figlio di Salatiel, governatore di Giuda, e a Gesù, figlio di Josedec, sommo sacerdote, dicendo:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "This people says: The time has not yet come to rebuild the Temple ofYahweh." '	2 «Il Signore degli eserciti vi manda a dire queste cose: - Questo popolo dice che il tempo non è ancora venuto di riedificare la casa del Signore! -».
3 (And the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophet Haggai, as follows,)	3 E la parola del Signore fu comunicata per mezzo di Aggeo profeta che disse:
4 'Is this a time for you to live in your panel ed houses, when this House lies in ruins?	4 «Ben avete voi trovato tempo per allogarvi in case soffittate, mentre che questa Casa è in rovina!
5 So now, Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	5 Ora dunque il Signore degli eserciti dice così: - Ponete mente all'andamento delle cose vostre!
6 You have sown much and harvested little; you eat but never have enough, drink but never have yourfill, put on clothes but feel no warmth. The wage-earner gets his wages only to put them in a bag with a hole init."	6 Voi avete seminato molto e ricavato poco, voi vi siete cibati, ma non vi siete satollati, avete bevuto, ma non vi siete esilarati, vi siete coperti, ma non vi siete riscaldati e chi metteva a parte i suoi guadagni, li ha messi in una borsa forata. -
7 Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Think careful y about your behaviour.	7 Il Signore degli eserciti dice così: - Ponete mente all'andamento delle cose vostre!
8 Go up into the hills, fetch timber and rebuild the House; and I shal take pleasure in it and manifest myglory there -- Yahweh says.	8 Salite al monte, portate legnami e riedificate la Casa, e mi sarà di gradimento e di glorificazione, dice il Signore.
9 The abundance you expected proved to be little. When you brought the harvest in, I blasted it. Andwhy? - Yahweh Sabaoth declares. Because while my House lies in ruins, each of you is busy with his ownhouse.	9 Voi vi siete aspettati aumento, ed ecco, diminuzione; voi avevate riposto in casa, ed io ho soffiato via: e per qual motivo, dice il Signore degli eserciti? Perchè la mia Casa è deserta e ciascuno di voi è stato sollecito della sua.
10 That is why the sky has withheld the rain and the earth withheld its yield.	10 Per questo è stato vietato ai cieli dal di sopra di darvi rugiada e alla terra di dare il suo prodotto.
11 I have cal ed down drought on land and hil s, on grain, on new wine, on olive oil and on al the produceof the ground, on humans and animals and al your labours." '	11 E ho chiamato la siccità sulle terre e sui monti e sul grano e sul vino e sull'olio e su tutti i prodotti del suolo e sugli uomini e sui bestiami e su tutte le fatiche delle braccia -».
12 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jehozadak the high priest and the entire remnant of thepeople, paid attention to the voice of Yahweh their God and to the words of the prophet Haggai, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to deliver. And the people were fil ed with fear before Yahweh.	12 E Zorobabel, figlio di Salatiel, e Gesù, figlio di Josedec, sommo sacerdote e tutto il resto del popolo diedero ascolto alla voce del Signore loro Dio e alle parole di Aggeo profeta, qualmente l'aveva mandato ad essi il Signore loro Dio; e la popolazione s'intimorì davanti al Signore.
13 Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, then passed on Yahweh's message to the people, 'I am with you-- declares Yahweh.'	13 E Aggeo messo dal Signore, conforme agli ordini del Signore parlò al popolo dicendogli: «Io sono con voi! ha detto il Signore».
14 And Yahweh roused the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, the spirit of Joshuason of Jehozadak the high priest and the spirit of the entire remnant of the people; they came and set to work inthe Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth, their God.	14 E il Signore ravvivò lo spirito di Zorobabel, figlio di Salatiel, governatore di Giuda e lo spirito di Gesù, figlio di Josedec, sommo sacerdote e lo spirito del rimanente di tutto il popolo; e andarono e si accinsero all'opera della casa del Signore degli eserciti, del loro Dio.
