Micah 5

1 But you (Bethlehem) Ephrathah, the least of the clans of Judah, from you will come for me a future rulerof Israel whose origins go back to the distant past, to the days of old.	1 Adesso tu sarai desolata, o figliuola di ladrone: eglino ci hanno assediati, hanno percosso con verga la guancia del giudice di Israele.
2 Hence Yahweh will abandon them only until she who is in labour gives birth, and then those who surviveof his race wil be reunited to the Israelites.	2 Ma tu, Bethleem Ephrata, tu se'piccolina rispetto ai capi popoli di Giuda: da te verrammi colui, che dee essere dominatore in Israele, e la generazione di lui è da principio, dai giorni dell'eternità.
3 He wil take his stand and he wil shepherd them with the power of Yahweh, with the majesty of thename of his God, and they wil be secure, for his greatness wil extend henceforth to the most distant parts of thecountry.	3 Per questo il Signore li lascerà fino a quel tempo, in cui colei, che dee partorire, partorirà: e gli avanzi de' fratelli di lui si riuniranno co' figliuoli di Israele.
4 He himself wil be peace! Should the Assyrian invade our country, should he set foot in our land, weshall raise seven shepherds against him, eight leaders of men;	4 Ed egli starà, e pascerà il gregge colla fortezza del Signore: nel nome altissimo del Signore Dio suo; e (a lui) si rivolgeranno, ed egli adesso sarà glorificato sino agli ultimi confini del mondo.
5 they wil shepherd Assyria with the sword, the country of Nimrod with naked blade. He will save us fromthe Assyrian, should he invade our country, should he set foot inside our frontiers.	5 E questi sarà (nostra) pace: quando l'Assiro sarà venuto nella nostra terra, ed avrà calpestate le nostre case, noi manderem contro di lui sette pastori, e otto principi.
6 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a dew from Yahweh, like showerson the grass, which do not depend on human agency and are beyond human control.	6 E governeranno la terra di Assur colla spada, e la terra di Nemrod colle loro lance; ed ei ci libererà dall'Assiro, quando questi sarà venuto sulle nostre terre, ed avrà devastati i nostri confini.
7 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a lion among the forest beasts, like a fierce lion among flocks of sheep trampling as he goes, mangling his prey which no one takes from him.	7 E gli avanzi di Giacobbe saranno nella moltitudine de' popoli, come rugiada mandata dal Signore, e come la piova sull'erba, la quale non attende opra dell'uomo, e nulla aspetta da' figliuoli degli uomini.
8 You wil be victorious over your foes and al your enemies will be torn to pieces.	8 E gli avanzi di Giacobbe saranno tralle nazioni in mezzo a molti popoli, come lione tralle bestie selvagge, e come un lioncello tra i greggi delle pecore, il quale invade, calpesta, fa preda, senza che alcuno gliela ritolga.
9 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- I shal tear your horses away from you, I shal destroy yourchariots;	9 La tua mano sarà esaltata sopra i tuoi avversarj, e tutti i nemici tuoi periranno.
10 I shall tear the cities from your country, I shal overthrow all your fortresses;	10 In quel giorno, dice il Signore, io torrò di mezzo a te i tuoi cavalli, e sperderò i tuoi cocchi:
11 I shall tear the spells out of your hands and you wil have no more soothsayers;	11 E rovinerò le città del tuo paese,e atterrerò tutte le tue fortezze, e torrò dalle tue mani i maleficii, e tu non avrai più indovini.
12 I shall tear away your images and your sacred pillars from among you, and no longer wil you worshipthings which your own hands have made!	12 E manderò in perdizione i simolacri, e le statue, che sono presso di te, e non adorerai più le opere delle tue mani.
13 I shall uproot your sacred poles and shal destroy your cities!	13 E sterperò di mezzo a te i tuoi boschetti: e ridurrò in polvere le tue città.
14 In furious anger I shal wreak vengeance on the nations who have disobeyed me!	14 E con furore, e indignazione farò vendetta di tutte le genti, che non hanno ascoltato.
