Micah 5

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 But you (Bethlehem) Ephrathah, the least of the clans of Judah, from you will come for me a future rulerof Israel whose origins go back to the distant past, to the days of old.	1 Y tú, Belén Efratá, tan pequeña entre los clanes de Judá, de ti me nacerá el que debe gobernar a Israel: sus orígenes se remontan al pasado, a un tiempo inmemorial.
2 Hence Yahweh will abandon them only until she who is in labour gives birth, and then those who surviveof his race wil be reunited to the Israelites.	2 Por eso, el Señor los abandonará hasta el momento en que dé a luz la que debe ser madre; entonces el resto de sus hermanos volverá junto a los israelitas.
3 He wil take his stand and he wil shepherd them with the power of Yahweh, with the majesty of thename of his God, and they wil be secure, for his greatness wil extend henceforth to the most distant parts of thecountry.	3 El se mantendrá de pie y los apacentará con la fuerza del Señor, con la majestad del nombre del Señor, su Dios. Ellos habitarán tranquilos, porque él será grande hasta los confines de la tierra.
4 He himself wil be peace! Should the Assyrian invade our country, should he set foot in our land, weshall raise seven shepherds against him, eight leaders of men;	4 ¡Y él mismo será la paz! Si Asiria invade nuestro país y pisa nuestros palacios, le opondremos siete pastores y ocho príncipes del pueblo:
5 they wil shepherd Assyria with the sword, the country of Nimrod with naked blade. He will save us fromthe Assyrian, should he invade our country, should he set foot inside our frontiers.	5 Ellos apacentarán a Asiria con la espada y al país de Nemrod con el acero. Y él nos librará de Asiria, si llega a invadir nuestro país y pisa nuestra frontera.
6 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a dew from Yahweh, like showerson the grass, which do not depend on human agency and are beyond human control.	6 Entonces, el resto de Jacob será, en medio de pueblos numerosos, como rocío que baja del Señor, como chaparrón sobre la hierba, que no espera en el hombre ni aguarda nada de los seres humanos.
7 Then what is left of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, wil be like a lion among the forest beasts, like a fierce lion among flocks of sheep trampling as he goes, mangling his prey which no one takes from him.	7 Entonces, el resto de Jacob será entre las naciones, en medio de pueblos numerosos, como un león entre los animales de la selva, como un cachorro de león entre los rebaños; cuando él pasa, pisotea y destroza, sin que nadie pueda librar.
8 You wil be victorious over your foes and al your enemies will be torn to pieces.	8 Que tu mano se alce contra tus adversarios y sean extirpados todos tus enemigos.
9 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- I shal tear your horses away from you, I shal destroy yourchariots;	9 Aquel día –oráculo del Señor– yo extirparé tus caballos de en medio de ti y haré desaparecer tus carros de guerra;
10 I shall tear the cities from your country, I shal overthrow all your fortresses;	10 extirparé las ciudades de tu país y derribaré todas tus fortalezas;
11 I shall tear the spells out of your hands and you wil have no more soothsayers;	11 extirparé de tus manos los sortilegios y no tendrás más adivinos;
12 I shall tear away your images and your sacred pillars from among you, and no longer wil you worshipthings which your own hands have made!	12 extirparé de en medio de ti tus ídolos y tus piedras conmemorativas, y ya no volverás a postrarte ante la obra de tus manos;
13 I shall uproot your sacred poles and shal destroy your cities!	13 arrancaré de en medio de ti tus postes sagrados y derribaré tus ídolos.
14 In furious anger I shal wreak vengeance on the nations who have disobeyed me!	14 ¡Y me vengaré con ira y furor de las naciones que no hayan obedecido!
