NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the second year after the exodus from Egypt, in thefirst month, and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse, dans le désert du Sinaï, la seconde année après la sortie d'Egypte, au premiermois, et il dit:
2 'The Israelites must keep the Passover at its appointed time.	2 "Que les Israélites célèbrent la Pâque au temps fixé.
3 The fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, is the time appointed for you to keep it. You wil keep itwith all the laws and customs proper to it.'	3 C'est le quatorzième jour de ce mois, au crépuscule, que vous la célébrerez au temps fixé. Vous lacélébrerez selon toutes les lois et coutumes qui la concernent."
4 Moses told the Israelites to keep the Passover.	4 Moïse dit aux Israélites de célébrer la Pâque.
5 They kept it, in the desert of Sinai, in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight.The Israelites did everything as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	5 Ils la célébrèrent, dans le désert du Sinaï, au premier mois, le quatorzième jour du mois, aucrépuscule. Les Israélites firent tout ce que Yahvé avait ordonné à Moïse.
6 It happened that some men had become unclean by touching a dead body; they could not keep thePassover that day. They came the same day to Moses and Aaron,	6 Or, il se trouva des hommes qui avaient contracté une impureté du fait d'un mort; ils ne purentcélébrer la Pâque ce jour-là. Ils vinrent le même jour trouver Moïse et Aaron
7 and said, 'We have become unclean by touching a dead body. Why should we be excluded frombringing an offering to Yahweh at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?'	7 et leur dirent: "Nous avons contracté une impureté du fait d'un mort. Pourquoi serions-nous exclus,et privés d'apporter l'offrande de Yahvé au temps fixé, au milieu des Israélites?"
8 Moses replied, 'Wait here until I hear what order Yahweh gives about you.'	8 Moïse leur répondit: "Tenez-vous là, que j'entende ce que Yahvé ordonne pour vous."
9 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	9 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
10 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Any of you or your descendants who becomes unclean by touchinga dead body, or is away on a long journey, can stil keep a Passover for Yahweh.	10 "Parle aux Israélites et dis-leur: Si quelqu'un, parmi vous ou vos descendants, se trouve impur, dufait d'un mort, ou est en voyage au loin, il célébrera une Pâque pour Yahvé.
11 Such persons wil keep it in the second month, on the fourteenth day, at twilight. They wil eat it withunleavened bread and bitter herbs;	11 C'est au second mois, le quatorzième jour, au crépuscule, qu'ils la célébreront. Ils la mangerontavec des azymes et des herbes amères;
12 nothing of it must be left over until morning, nor wil they break any of its bones. They wil keep it,fol owing the entire Passover ritual.	12 rien n'en devra rester au matin, ils n'en briseront aucun os. C'est selon tout le rituel de la Pâquequ'ils la célébreront.
13 But anyone who is clean, or who is not on a journey, but fails to keep the Passover, such a personwil be outlawed from his people. For not having brought the offering to Yahweh at its appointed time, the personwil bear the consequences of the sin.	13 Mais celui qui se trouve pur ou qui n'a pas eu à voyager, celui-là sera retranché de sa race s'ilomet de célébrer la Pâque. Il n'a pas apporté l'offrande de Yahvé au temps fixé, il portera le poids de son péché.
14 "A resident alien who keeps a Passover for Yahweh, wil keep it in accordance with the ritual andcustoms of the Passover. You will have one law for alien and citizen alike." '	14 Si quelque étranger réside parmi vous et célèbre une Pâque pour Yahvé, c'est selon le rituel et lescoutumes de la Pâque qu'il la célébrera. Il n'y aura chez vous qu'une loi, pour l'étranger comme pour le citoyen."
15 On the day the Dwel ing was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the Tent of the Testimony.From nightfall until morning it remained over the Dwel ing looking like fire.	15 Le jour où l'on avait dressé la Demeure, la Nuée avait couvert la Demeure, la Tente du Rendez-vous. Du soir au matin, elle reposait sur la Demeure sous l'aspect d'un feu.
16 So the cloud covered it all the time, and at night it looked like fire.	16 Ainsi la nuée la couvrait en permanence, prenant l'aspect d'un feu jusqu'au matin.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the Tent, the Israelites broke camp, and wherever the cloud halted,there the Israelites pitched camp.	17 Lorsque la Nuée s'élevait au-dessus de la Tente, alors les Israélites levaient le camp; au lieu où laNuée s'arrêtait, là campaient les Israélites.
18 At Yahweh's order, the Israelites set out and, at Yahweh's order, the Israelites pitched camp. Theyremained in camp for as long as the cloud rested on the Dwel ing.	18 Les Israélites partaient sur l'ordre de Yahvé et sur son ordre ils campaient. Ils campaient aussilongtemps que la Nuée reposait sur la Demeure.
19 If the cloud stayed for many days on the Dwelling, the Israelites performed their duty to Yahweh anddid not set out.	19 Si la Nuée restait de longs jours sur la Demeure, les Israélites rendaient leur culte à Yahvé et nepartaient pas.
20 But if the cloud happened to stay for only a few days on the Dwel ing, just as they had pitched campat Yahweh's order, at Yahweh's order they set out.	20 Mais s'il arrivait que la Nuée restât peu de jours sur la Demeure, alors ils campaient sur l'ordre deYahvé et partaient sur l'ordre de Yahvé.
21 If the cloud happened to remain only from evening to morning, they set out when it lifted the nextmorning. Or, if it stayed for a whole day and night, they set out only when it lifted.	21 S'il arrivait que la Nuée, après avoir reposé du soir au matin, s'élevât au matin, ils partaient alors.Ou bien, elle s'élevait après avoir séjourné un jour et une nuit, et ils partaient alors.
22 Sometimes it stayed there for two days, a month, or a longer time; however long the cloud rested onthe Dwel ing, the Israelites remained in camp, and when it lifted they set out.	22 Ou bien encore elle séjournait deux jours, un mois ou une année; aussi longtemps que la Nuéereposait sur la Demeure, les Israélites campaient sur place, mais lorsqu'elle s'élevait ils partaient.
23 At Yahweh's order they pitched camp, and at Yahweh's order they set out. They performed their dutyto Yahweh, as Yahweh had ordered through Moses.	23 Sur l'ordre de Yahvé ils campaient, et sur l'ordre de Yahvé ils partaient. Ils rendaient leur culte àYahvé, suivant les ordres de Yahvé transmis par Moïse.
