1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the second year after the exodus from Egypt, in thefirst month, and said:	1 Au premier mois de la deuxième année après la sortie du pays d’Égypte, Yahvé dit à Moïse dans le désert du Sinaï:
2 'The Israelites must keep the Passover at its appointed time.	2 “Les fils d’Israël célébreront la Pâque à sa date.
3 The fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, is the time appointed for you to keep it. You wil keep itwith all the laws and customs proper to it.'	3 Vous la célébrerez le quatorzième jour de ce mois, à la tombée du jour. Vous la célébrerez selon tous ses rites et tous ses règlements.”
4 Moses told the Israelites to keep the Passover.	4 À son tour, Moïse dit aux Israélites de célébrer la Pâque.
5 They kept it, in the desert of Sinai, in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight.The Israelites did everything as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	5 Ils célébrèrent donc la Pâque dans le désert du Sinaï, le quatorzième jour du premier mois, à la tombée du jour. Les Israélites firent tout ce que Yahvé avait commandé à Moïse.
6 It happened that some men had become unclean by touching a dead body; they could not keep thePassover that day. They came the same day to Moses and Aaron,	6 Or il y en eut parmi eux qui étaient impurs pour avoir touché un cadavre; ils ne purent donc célébrer la Pâque ce jour-là. Ils vinrent trouver Moïse et Aaron,
7 and said, 'We have become unclean by touching a dead body. Why should we be excluded frombringing an offering to Yahweh at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?'	7 et ils dirent à Moïse: “Certes, nous sommes impurs à cause de ce cadavre, quel malheur que nous ne puissions pas présenter l’offrande à Yahvé avec tous les Israélites!”
8 Moses replied, 'Wait here until I hear what order Yahweh gives about you.'	8 Moïse leur répondit: “Restez pour que j’écoute ce que Yahvé commandera à votre sujet.”
9 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	9 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
10 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Any of you or your descendants who becomes unclean by touchinga dead body, or is away on a long journey, can stil keep a Passover for Yahweh.	10 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: Si quelqu’un parmi vous ou parmi vos descendants, se trouve impur à cause d’un cadavre, ou qu’il se trouve en voyage dans un pays lointain, il pourra cependant célébrer la Pâque en l’honneur de Yahvé.
11 Such persons wil keep it in the second month, on the fourteenth day, at twilight. They wil eat it withunleavened bread and bitter herbs;	11 Il la célébrera au second mois, le quatorzième jour à la tombée du jour. Il la mangera avec des pains sans levain et des herbes amères;
12 nothing of it must be left over until morning, nor wil they break any of its bones. They wil keep it,fol owing the entire Passover ritual.	12 on n’en laissera rien jusqu’au matin, on ne brisera aucun os; on la célébrera selon toutes les prescriptions concernant la Pâque.
13 But anyone who is clean, or who is not on a journey, but fails to keep the Passover, such a personwil be outlawed from his people. For not having brought the offering to Yahweh at its appointed time, the personwil bear the consequences of the sin.	13 Mais si quelqu’un qui est pur et qui n’est pas en voyage ne célèbre pas la Pâque, il sera retranché de son peuple pour n’avoir pas présenté son offrande à Yahvé au temps fixé: il portera le poids de son péché.
14 "A resident alien who keeps a Passover for Yahweh, wil keep it in accordance with the ritual andcustoms of the Passover. You will have one law for alien and citizen alike." '	14 Si un étranger résidant au milieu de vous veut célébrer la Pâque de Yahvé, il observera les lois et les règles relatives à la Pâque. La loi sera la même pour tous, pour l’étranger comme pour l’homme du pays.
15 On the day the Dwel ing was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the Tent of the Testimony.From nightfall until morning it remained over the Dwel ing looking like fire.	15 La nuée couvrit la Demeure à partir du jour où elle fut dressée: c’est la Tente du Témoignage. Et de la tombée de la nuit jusqu’au matin il y eut comme un feu sur la Demeure.
16 So the cloud covered it all the time, and at night it looked like fire.	16 Il en fut ainsi continuellement: la nuée couvrait la Demeure, et la nuit c’était comme un feu.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the Tent, the Israelites broke camp, and wherever the cloud halted,there the Israelites pitched camp.	17 Lorsque la nuée s’élevait au-dessus de la Tente, les Israélites partaient, et ils établissaient leur camp là où la nuée s’arrêtait.
18 At Yahweh's order, the Israelites set out and, at Yahweh's order, the Israelites pitched camp. Theyremained in camp for as long as the cloud rested on the Dwel ing.	18 Les Israélites levaient le camp sur l’ordre de Yahvé, et sur l’ordre de Yahvé ils le dressaient. Et ils campaient là aussi longtemps que la nuée reposait sur la Demeure.
19 If the cloud stayed for many days on the Dwelling, the Israelites performed their duty to Yahweh anddid not set out.	19 Si la nuée restait longtemps sur la Demeure, les Israélites respectaient la volonté de Yahvé: ils ne levaient pas le camp.
20 But if the cloud happened to stay for only a few days on the Dwel ing, just as they had pitched campat Yahweh's order, at Yahweh's order they set out.	20 De même, lorsque la nuée ne restait que quelques jours sur la Demeure. Sur l’ordre de Yahvé ils dressaient le camp, et au commandement de Yahvé ils le levaient.
21 If the cloud happened to remain only from evening to morning, they set out when it lifted the nextmorning. Or, if it stayed for a whole day and night, they set out only when it lifted.	21 Si la nuée ne se reposait que du soir au matin, dès que la nuée s’élevait le matin, ils partaient. Et si la nuée s’élevait après un jour et une nuit, dès qu’elle s’élevait ils partaient.
22 Sometimes it stayed there for two days, a month, or a longer time; however long the cloud rested onthe Dwel ing, the Israelites remained in camp, and when it lifted they set out.	22 Si la nuée s’arrêtait sur la Demeure plusieurs jours, un mois ou une année, les Israélites restaient là et ne levaient pas le camp. Mais dès qu’elle s’élevait, ils levaient le camp.
23 At Yahweh's order they pitched camp, and at Yahweh's order they set out. They performed their dutyto Yahweh, as Yahweh had ordered through Moses.	23 Sur l’ordre de Yahvé ils dressaient le camp, et sur l’ordre de Yahvé ils levaient le camp. Ils observaient l’ordre de Yahvé, tout ce qu’il commandait à Moïse.
