NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the second year after the exodus from Egypt, in thefirst month, and said:	1 En el primer mes del segundo año después de la salida de Egipto, el Señor dijo a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí:
2 'The Israelites must keep the Passover at its appointed time.	2 «Que los israelitas celebren la Pascua en el tiempo establecido.
3 The fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, is the time appointed for you to keep it. You wil keep itwith all the laws and customs proper to it.'	3 La celebrarán el día catorce de este mes, a la hora del crepúsculo, en el tiempo establecido, ateniéndose estrictamente a las prescripciones del ritual».
4 Moses told the Israelites to keep the Passover.	4 Entonces Moisés mandó a los israelitas que celebraran la Pascua,
5 They kept it, in the desert of Sinai, in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight.The Israelites did everything as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	5 y el día catorce del primer mes, a la hora del crepúsculo, ellos la celebraron en el desierto del Sinaí. Los israelitas lo hicieron exactamente como el Señor lo había ordenado a Moisés.
6 It happened that some men had become unclean by touching a dead body; they could not keep thePassover that day. They came the same day to Moses and Aaron,	6 Sin embargo, había algunas personas que se encontraban en estado de impureza a causa de un cadáver y no pudieron celebrar la Pascua ese día. Por eso se presentaron a Moisés y a Aarón aquel mismo día
7 and said, 'We have become unclean by touching a dead body. Why should we be excluded frombringing an offering to Yahweh at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?'	7 y les dijeron: «Aunque somos impuros a causa de un cadáver, ¿por qué nos vamos a ver excluidos de presentar la ofrenda del Señor a su debido tiempo, como los demás israelitas?».
8 Moses replied, 'Wait here until I hear what order Yahweh gives about you.'	8 Moisés les respondió: «Quédense aquí, mientras yo voy a oír las instrucciones que me da el Señor respecto de ustedes».
9 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	9 Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés:
10 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Any of you or your descendants who becomes unclean by touchinga dead body, or is away on a long journey, can stil keep a Passover for Yahweh.	10 Habla en estos términos a los israelitas: Si alguno de ustedes o alguno de sus descendientes cae en impureza a casa de un cadáver, o está de viaje en un lugar lejano, también podrá celebrar la Pascua del Señor.
11 Such persons wil keep it in the second month, on the fourteenth day, at twilight. They wil eat it withunleavened bread and bitter herbs;	11 Pero lo harán en el segundo mes, el día catorce, a la hora del crepúsculo. Comerán la víctima pascual con pan sin levadura y con hierbas amargas,
12 nothing of it must be left over until morning, nor wil they break any of its bones. They wil keep it,fol owing the entire Passover ritual.	12 y no dejarán nada para la mañana siguiente. No le quebrarán ningún hueso y celebrarán la Pascua ateniéndose estrictamente al ritual.
13 But anyone who is clean, or who is not on a journey, but fails to keep the Passover, such a personwil be outlawed from his people. For not having brought the offering to Yahweh at its appointed time, the personwil bear the consequences of the sin.	13 Pero si una persona que es pura y no está de viaje, deja de celebrar la Pascua, será excluida de su pueblo, por no haber presentado la ofrenda del Señor en el tiempo establecido: ese hombre cargará con su pecado.
14 "A resident alien who keeps a Passover for Yahweh, wil keep it in accordance with the ritual andcustoms of the Passover. You will have one law for alien and citizen alike." '	14 Y si algún extranjero reside entre ustedes podrá celebrar la Pascua del Señor; lo hará conforme a las prescripciones del ritual. Las mismas prescripciones valdrán para todos ustedes, sean extranjeros o nativos del país.
15 On the day the Dwel ing was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the Tent of the Testimony.From nightfall until morning it remained over the Dwel ing looking like fire.	15 El día en que se erigió la Morada –la Carpa del Testimonio– la nube la cubrió, y desde el anochecer hasta la mañana estuvo sobre ella con aspecto de fuego.
16 So the cloud covered it all the time, and at night it looked like fire.	16 Así sucedía siempre: la nube cubría la Morada y de noche tomaba el aspecto de fuego.
17 Whenever the cloud rose from the Tent, the Israelites broke camp, and wherever the cloud halted,there the Israelites pitched camp.	17 Siempre que la nube se alzaba por encima de la Morada, los israelitas levantaban el campamento, y en el lugar donde se detenía la nube, allí acampaban.
18 At Yahweh's order, the Israelites set out and, at Yahweh's order, the Israelites pitched camp. Theyremained in camp for as long as the cloud rested on the Dwel ing.	18 A una señal del Señor, levantaban el campamento; a otra señal del Señor, levantaban el campamento; a otra señal del Señor, acampaban, y permanecían acampados mientras la nube se quedaba detenida sobre la Morada.
19 If the cloud stayed for many days on the Dwelling, the Israelites performed their duty to Yahweh anddid not set out.	19 Cuando la nube se detenía sobre la Morada varios días, los israelitas acataban la orden del Señor y no levantaban el campamento.
20 But if the cloud happened to stay for only a few days on the Dwel ing, just as they had pitched campat Yahweh's order, at Yahweh's order they set out.	20 Cuando la nube estaba sobre la Morada unos pocos días, permanecían acampados de acuerdo con la señal del Señor; y a una nueva señal del Señor, levantaban el campamento.
21 If the cloud happened to remain only from evening to morning, they set out when it lifted the nextmorning. Or, if it stayed for a whole day and night, they set out only when it lifted.	21 Cuando la nube sólo se detenía desde el atardecer hasta la mañana, levantaban el campamento por la mañana, tan pronto como se alzaba la nube. De día o de noche, siempre que se alzaba la nube, levantaban el campamento.
22 Sometimes it stayed there for two days, a month, or a longer time; however long the cloud rested onthe Dwel ing, the Israelites remained in camp, and when it lifted they set out.	22 Siempre que la nube estaba sobre la Morada –ya fueran dos días, un mes o un año– los israelitas permanecían acampados y no levantaban el campamento.
23 At Yahweh's order they pitched camp, and at Yahweh's order they set out. They performed their dutyto Yahweh, as Yahweh had ordered through Moses.	23 Pero a una señal del Señor, partían. Así acataban la orden del Señor, conforme a las instrucciones que él les había dado por medio de Moisés.
