1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et dit:
2 'Take a census by clans and families of the Levites descended from Kohath:	2 "Faites le recensement de ceux des Lévites qui sont fils de Qehat, par clans et par familles:

5 'When camp is broken, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the screening curtain, and coverthe ark of the Testimony with it.	5 Quand on lèvera le camp, Aaron et ses fils viendront déposer le rideau du voile. Ils en couvrirontl'arche du Témoignage.
6 Over this, they will put a covering of fine leather, over which they wil spread a cloth entirely of violet-purple. 7 'Over the offertory table they wil spread a violet cloth, and on it put the dishes, cups, bowls and libationjars; the bread of permanent offering will also be on it.	7 Sur la table d'oblation, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, sur laquelle ils déposeront les plats, lescoupes, les patères et les aiguières à libation; le pain de l'oblation perpétuelle y sera aussi.
8 Over these they will spread a scarlet cloth and cover the whole with a covering of fine leather. They willthen fix the poles to the table.	8 Ils étendront par-dessus une étoffe de cramoisi, qu'ils recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin. Puis ilsajusteront les barres de la table.
9 'They wil then take a violet cloth and cover the lamp-stand, its lamps, snuffers, trays and al the oil jars used for it,	9 Ils prendront alors une étoffe de pourpre, dont ils couvriront le candélabre de lumière, ses lampes,ses mouchettes et ses cendriers, et tous les vases à huile employés pour son service.
10 and wil lay it and al its accessories in a covering of fine leather and put it on the litter.	10 Ils le déposeront avec tous ses accessoires sur une housse en cuir fin et le placeront sur lebrancard.
11 'Over the golden altar they wil spread a violet cloth, and cover that with a covering of fine leather.They wil then fix the poles to it.	11 Sur l'autel d'or, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, et le recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin.Puis ils y ajusteront les barres.
12 'They wil then take al the other objects used in the service of the sanctuary, put them in a violetcloth, with a covering of fine leather, and put it al on the litter.	12 Ils prendront ensuite tous les objets employés pour le service du sanctuaire. Ils les déposeront surune étoffe de pourpre, ils les recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin, et mettront le tout sur le brancard.
13 'When they have removed the ashes from the altar, they wil spread a scarlet cloth over it,	13 Après avoir retiré de l'autel ses cendres grasses, ils étendront dessus une étoffe d'écarlate,
14 and on this place all the objects used in the liturgy, the fire pans, hooks, scoops, sprinkling basins andal the altar accessories. Over this they will spread a covering of fine leather. They wil then fix the poles to it.	14 sur laquelle ils déposeront tous les objets que l'on emploie pour officier, les encensoirs, lesfourchettes, les pelles, les coupes d'aspersion, tous les accessoires de l'autel. Ils étendront par-dessus une housseen cuir fin; puis ils ajusteront les barres.
15 'Once Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things and all their accessories at thebreaking of camp, the Kohathites wil come and carry them, but without touching any of the holy things on pain ofdeath. Such is the load for the Kohathites in the Tent of Meeting.	15 Lorsque Aaron et ses fils auront fini d'envelopper les choses sacrées et tous leurs accessoires, aumoment de lever le camp, les fils de Qehat viendront les porter, mais sans toucher à ce qui est consacré: ilsmourraient. 16 But Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, is responsible for looking after the oil for the light, the fragrantincense, the daily cereal offering and the anointing oil, and for supervising the entire Dwel ing and everything init, the holy things and their accessories.'	16 Mais à Eléazar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre, il incombera de veiller à l'huile du luminaire, aux parfumsd'herbes odorantes, à l'oblation perpétuelle, à l'huile d'onction; il devra veiller sur toute la Demeure, sur tout cequi s'y trouve: les choses sacrées et leurs accessoires."
17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	17 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron. Il dit:
18 'You must not let the group of Kohathite clans be lost to the rest of the Levites.	18 "Ne retranchez pas du nombre des Lévites la tribu des clans Qehatites.
19 But deal with them in this way, so that they may survive and not incur death by approaching thosethings that are especial y holy. Aaron and his sons wil go in and assign to each of them his task and load,	19 Agissez donc ainsi pour eux, afin qu'ils vivent et n'encourent pas la mort en s'approchant deschoses très saintes: Aaron et ses fils viendront placer chacun d'eux au lieu de son service et près de son fardeau.
20 in such a way that they have no need to incur the death penalty by going in and setting eyes on theholy things, even for an instant.'	20 Ils éviteront ainsi d'entrer et de porter le regard, ne fût-ce qu'un instant, sur les choses sacrées: ilsmourraient!"
21 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	21 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
22 'Take a census of the Gershonites by families and clans, too:	22 "Fais aussi le recensement des fils de Gershôn, par familles et par clans:
23 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, who will have their dutiesin the Tent of Meeting.	23 Tu recenseras tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne, et qui feront le servicedans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
24 'These are the duties of the Gershonite clans, their functions and their loads.	24 Voici quel sera le service des clans Gershonites, leurs fonctions et leurs fardeaux.
25 They wil carry the curtaining of the Dwel ing, the Tent of Meeting with its covering and the covering offine leather that goes over it, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 Ils porteront les tentures de la Demeure, la Tente du Rendez-vous avec sa bâche et la bâche encuir fin qui la recouvre, la portière d'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous,

31 'The load they carry and the duties incumbent on them in the Tent of Meeting will be as fol ows: theframework of the Dwel ing, its cross-bars, poles and sockets,	31 Voici le fardeau qu'ils assumeront, et tout le service qui leur incombera dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: les cadres de la Demeure, ses traverses, ses colonnes et ses socles.
32 the poles round the court with their sockets, pegs, cords and al their tackle. 34 Moses, Aaron and the leaders of the community took a census of the Kohathites by clans andfamilies:	34 Moïse, Aaron et les princes de la communauté firent le recensement des fils de Qehat, par clanset par familles;

36 The number of men counted in their clans came to two thousand seven hundred and fifty.	36 On compta pour leurs clans 2.750 recensés.

49 At Yahweh's bidding through Moses, a census was taken of them and each man was assigned hisduty and load.
