NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón:
2 'Take a census by clans and families of the Levites descended from Kohath:	2 Realiza un censo especial de los levitas hijos de Quehat, por clanes y por familias.
3 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age and eligible for military service, who will have theirduties in the Tent of Meeting.	3 Registra a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio, para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
4 'These are the duties of the Kohathites: looking after those things that are especial y holy.	4 Los quehatitas serán los responsables, en la Carpa del Encuentro, de los objetos más santos.
5 'When camp is broken, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the screening curtain, and coverthe ark of the Testimony with it.	5 Cuando haya que levantar campamento, Aarón y sus hijos irán a descolgar el velo protector y cubrirán con él el Arca del Testimonio.
6 Over this, they will put a covering of fine leather, over which they wil spread a cloth entirely of violet-purple. They wil then fix the poles to the ark.	6 Sobre él pondrán una funda de cuero fino, y encima extenderán una tela, toda de púrpura violeta. Luego le ajustarán las andas.
7 'Over the offertory table they wil spread a violet cloth, and on it put the dishes, cups, bowls and libationjars; the bread of permanent offering will also be on it.	7 En seguida extenderán una tela de púrpura violeta sobre la mesa de los panes de la ofrenda, y depositarán sobre ella las fuentes, los vasos, las tazas y los jarros para la libación. El pan de la ofrenda perpetua estará sobre la mesa.
8 Over these they will spread a scarlet cloth and cover the whole with a covering of fine leather. They willthen fix the poles to the table.	8 Encima de todo esto, extenderán una tela de púrpura escarlata y la envolverán con una funda de cuero fino. Luego le ajustarán las andas.
9 'They wil then take a violet cloth and cover the lamp-stand, its lamps, snuffers, trays and al the oil jars used for it,	9 Asimismo, tomarán una tela de púrpura violeta y cubrirán el candelabro, sus lámparas, sus tenazas, sus platillos, y todas las vasijas de aceite que se emplean para el servicio del candelabro.
10 and wil lay it and al its accessories in a covering of fine leather and put it on the litter.	10 Lo pondrán, junto con todos sus enseres, en una funda de cuero fino, y después lo depositarán sobre angarillas.
11 'Over the golden altar they wil spread a violet cloth, and cover that with a covering of fine leather.They wil then fix the poles to it.	11 Luego extenderán una tela de púrpura violeta sobre el altar de oro, lo cubrirán con una funda de cuero fino y le ajustarán las andas.
12 'They wil then take al the other objects used in the service of the sanctuary, put them in a violetcloth, with a covering of fine leather, and put it al on the litter.	12 Recogerán todos los utensilios que se emplean en el culto del Santuario, les pondrán una tela de púrpura violeta, los cubrirán con una funda de cuero fino, y finalmente los depositarán sobre unas angarillas.
13 'When they have removed the ashes from the altar, they wil spread a scarlet cloth over it,	13 Después de haber limpiado las cenizas del altar, extenderán sobre él una tela de púrpura escarlata
14 and on this place all the objects used in the liturgy, the fire pans, hooks, scoops, sprinkling basins andal the altar accessories. Over this they will spread a covering of fine leather. They wil then fix the poles to it.	14 y pondrán encima todos los enseres que se usan para su servicio: los braseros, los tenedores, las palas y los aspersorios, o sea, todos los enseres del altar. Luego extenderán sobre él una funda de cuero fino y le ajustarán las andas.
15 'Once Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things and all their accessories at thebreaking of camp, the Kohathites wil come and carry them, but without touching any of the holy things on pain ofdeath. Such is the load for the Kohathites in the Tent of Meeting.	15 Y al levantarse el campamento, una vez que Aarón y sus hijos hayan terminado de cubrir los objetos sagrados y todos sus accesorios, vendrán los hijos de Quehat para transportarlos, pero no tocarán los objetos sagrados, porque morirían. Estos son los objetos de la Carpa del Encuentro, que deberán ser transportados por los hijos de Quehat.
16 But Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, is responsible for looking after the oil for the light, the fragrantincense, the daily cereal offering and the anointing oil, and for supervising the entire Dwel ing and everything init, the holy things and their accessories.'	16 El sacerdote Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, será el encargado del aceite para iluminación, del incienso aromático, de la ofrenda perpetua y del óleo de la unción; ejercerá la supervisión de toda la Morada, con todos los objetos sagrados y todos los utensilios que hay en ella.
17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	17 El Señor dijo a Moisés y a Aarón:
18 'You must not let the group of Kohathite clans be lost to the rest of the Levites.	18 No permitan que el grupo de los clanes de los quehatitas sea eliminado del número de los levitas.
19 But deal with them in this way, so that they may survive and not incur death by approaching thosethings that are especial y holy. Aaron and his sons wil go in and assign to each of them his task and load,	19 Por eso, para que puedan vivir y no mueran cuando se acerquen a los objetos más santos, procedan con los quehatitas de la siguiente manera: vendrán Aarón y sus hijos, y asignarán a cada uno de ellos su oficio y su carga;
20 in such a way that they have no need to incur the death penalty by going in and setting eyes on theholy things, even for an instant.'	20 pero los quehatitas no entrarán a ver los objetos sagrados ni siguiera un momento, no sea que mueran.
21 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	21 Luego el Señor dijo a Moisés:
22 'Take a census of the Gershonites by families and clans, too:	22 Realiza también un censo de los gersonitas, por clanes y por familias.
23 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, who will have their dutiesin the Tent of Meeting.	23 Registra a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
24 'These are the duties of the Gershonite clans, their functions and their loads.	24 Los clanes de los gersonitas serán los responsables de los siguientes oficios y cargas:
25 They wil carry the curtaining of the Dwel ing, the Tent of Meeting with its covering and the covering offine leather that goes over it, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 ellos llevarán los tapices de la Morada, la Carpa del Encuentro y su tolda, el cortinado que está a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro;
26 the curtaining of the court, the screen for the entrance to the court surrounding the Dwel ing and thealtar, the cords, al the accessories for worship, and al the necessary equipment. 27 Al the duties of the Gershonites, their functions and their loads, will be carried out under the directionof Aaron and his sons: you wil see that they fulfil their charge.	27 Los gersonitas harán su trabajo bajo las órdenes de Aarón y de sus hijos, tanto lo que se refiere al transporte cuanto al servicio: ustedes los harán responsables del cuidado de toda su carga.
28 Such are the duties of the Gershonite clans in the Tent of Meeting. Their work wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.	28 Estas son las obligaciones de los clanes de los gersonitas, respecto de la Carpa del Encuentro. Las cumplirán bajo la dirección de Itamar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón.
29 'You will take a census of the Merarites by clans and families.	29 En cuanto a los meraritas, deberás registrar, por clanes y por familias,
30 You will take a census of al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service,who wil have their duties in the Tent of Meeting.	30 a todos los que puedan entrar en servicio para ejercer funciones en la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, a los que tengan entre treinta y cincuenta años.
31 'The load they carry and the duties incumbent on them in the Tent of Meeting will be as fol ows: theframework of the Dwel ing, its cross-bars, poles and sockets,	31 Ellos tendrán a su cargo, en la Carpa del Encuentro, todos los oficios relacionados con el traslado de los siguientes objetos: los bastidores de la Morada, con sus travesaños, columnas y bases;
32 the poles round the court with their sockets, pegs, cords and al their tackle. You wil draw up a list oftheir names with the loads for which each is responsible.	32 las columnas que rodean el atrio, con sus bases, estacas y cuerdas, con todos sus accesorios y todo su equipamiento. Además, deberán tener un inventario de los objetos que tienen la obligación de transportar.
33 'Such are the duties of the Merarite clans. Al their duties in the Tent of Meeting wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.'	33 Estos son los oficios de los clanes de los meraritas, con todas las obligaciones que deberán cumplir en la Carpa del Encuentro, bajo la dirección de Itamar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón.
34 Moses, Aaron and the leaders of the community took a census of the Kohathites by clans andfamilies:	34 De esta manera, Moisés, Aarón y los jefes de la comunidad hicieron el censo de los quehatitas, por clanes y por familias,

36 The number of men counted in their clans came to two thousand seven hundred and fifty.	36 Los registrados por clanes fueron en total 2.750 hombres.
37 Such was the total number of men in the Kohathite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding through Moses.	37 Estos fueron los inscritos en el registro de los clanes de los quehatitas, todos los que prestaban servicio en la Carpa del Encuentro. Moisés y Aarón los registraron, según la orden que el Señor había dado por medio de Moisés.
38 A census was taken of the Gershonites by clans and families:	38 Los inscritos en el registro de los gersonitas, por clanes y por familias,

40 The number of men counted in their clans and families came to two thousand six hundred and thirty.	40 fueron en total 2.630 hombres.
41 Such was the total number of men in the Gershonite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting, and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding.	41 Estos fueron los registrados en el censo de los clanes de los gersonitas, todos los que prestaban servicio en la Carpa del Encuentro, y que Moisés y Aarón registraron por orden del Señor.
42 A census was taken of the Merarite clans by clans and families:	42 Los inscritos en el registro de los meraritas, por clanes y por familias,

44 The number of men counted in their clans came to three thousand two hundred.	44 fueron en total 3.200 hombres.
45 Such was the total number of men in the Merarite clans, whom Moses and Aaron counted atYahweh's bidding through Moses.	45 Estos fueron los inscritos en el registro de los clanes de los meraritas, que Moisés y Aarón registraron según la orden que el Señor había dado por medio de Moisés.
46 The total number of Levites whom Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel counted in their clans andfamilies,	46 Todos los levitas que Moisés, Aarón y los jefes de Israel registraron por clanes y por familias
47 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for religious duties and for those oftransporting the Tent of Meeting	47 –los que debían prestar servicios en el culto y traslado de la Carpa del Encuentro, es decir, los que tenían entre treinta y cincuenta años–
48 came to eight thousand five hundred and eighty.	48 fueron 8.580 hombres.
49 At Yahweh's bidding through Moses, a census was taken of them and each man was assigned hisduty and load. And so the census was conducted by Moses as Yahweh had ordered him.	49 A cada uno le fue asignada una obligación en el servicio y el traslado de la Carpa, según la orden del Señor por medio de Moisés; y cada uno fue registrado como el Señor lo había ordenado a Moisés.
