1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse et à Aaron:
2 'Take a census by clans and families of the Levites descended from Kohath:	2 “Parmi les fils de Lévi, tu feras le compte des fils de Kahat selon leurs familles et leurs clans,
3 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age and eligible for military service, who will have theirduties in the Tent of Meeting.	3 depuis l’âge de 30 ans et au-dessus, jusqu’à l’âge de 50 ans. Tous ceux-ci ont à faire leur service, à remplir une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
4 'These are the duties of the Kohathites: looking after those things that are especial y holy.	4 Voici le service qu’accompliront les fils de Kahat dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous: c’est un service très saint!
5 'When camp is broken, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the screening curtain, and coverthe ark of the Testimony with it.	5 Quand on lèvera le camp, Aaron et ses fils descendront le voile et ils en couvriront l’Arche du Témoignage.
6 Over this, they will put a covering of fine leather, over which they wil spread a cloth entirely of violet-purple. They wil then fix the poles to the ark.	6 Ils mettront dessus une couverture de peau de poisson et il étendront par-dessus un drap de pourpre violette, ensuite ils placeront les barres.
7 'Over the offertory table they wil spread a violet cloth, and on it put the dishes, cups, bowls and libationjars; the bread of permanent offering will also be on it.	7 Ils étendront sur la table des pains de proposition un drap de pourpre violette; ils mettront dessus les plats, les coupes, les assiettes et les gobelets pour les libations, ainsi que le pain d’offrande.
8 Over these they will spread a scarlet cloth and cover the whole with a covering of fine leather. They willthen fix the poles to the table.	8 Ils étendront par-dessus un drap teint en rouge qu’ils envelopperont d’une couverture de peau de poisson et ils fixeront les barres de la table.
9 'They wil then take a violet cloth and cover the lamp-stand, its lamps, snuffers, trays and al the oil jars used for it,	9 Ils prendront un drap de pourpre violette et ils en couvriront le chandelier, les lampes, les éteignoirs, les cendriers et les vases pour l’huile nécessaires pour son service.
10 and wil lay it and al its accessories in a covering of fine leather and put it on the litter.	10 Ils placeront le tout dans une couverture de peau de poisson et le mettront sur un brancard.
11 'Over the golden altar they wil spread a violet cloth, and cover that with a covering of fine leather.They wil then fix the poles to it.	11 Ils étendront un drap de pourpre violette sur l’autel d’or, ils l’envelopperont d’une couverture de peau de poisson et fixeront les barres.
12 'They wil then take al the other objects used in the service of the sanctuary, put them in a violetcloth, with a covering of fine leather, and put it al on the litter.	12 Ils prendront tous les ustensiles en usage dans le sanctuaire, les mettront dans un drap de pourpre violette et les envelopperont d’une couverture de peau de poisson, ensuite ils les mettront sur un brancard.
13 'When they have removed the ashes from the altar, they wil spread a scarlet cloth over it,	13 Ils enlèveront les cendres de l’autel et étendront par-dessus un drap de pourpre rouge.
14 and on this place all the objects used in the liturgy, the fire pans, hooks, scoops, sprinkling basins andal the altar accessories. Over this they will spread a covering of fine leather. They wil then fix the poles to it.	14 Ils poseront dessus tous les objets nécessaires à son service: les grils, les fourchettes, les pelles, les bassins, tous les objets qui servent pour l’autel. Ils étendront sur le tout une couverture de peau de poisson et fixeront les barres.
15 'Once Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy things and all their accessories at thebreaking of camp, the Kohathites wil come and carry them, but without touching any of the holy things on pain ofdeath. Such is the load for the Kohathites in the Tent of Meeting.	15 Quand Aaron et ses fils achèveront d’envelopper le sanctuaire et tous les objets du sanctuaire; on lèvera le camp. Les fils de Kahat viendront pour tout emporter mais ils ne toucheront pas les objets sacrés; sinon ils mourraient. Voilà la responsabilité des fils de Kahat dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
16 But Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, is responsible for looking after the oil for the light, the fragrantincense, the daily cereal offering and the anointing oil, and for supervising the entire Dwel ing and everything init, the holy things and their accessories.'	16 Éléazar, fils d’Aaron le prêtre, aura la charge de l’huile du chandelier, du parfum d’agréable odeur, de l’offrande perpétuelle, de l’huile de consécration. Il veillera sur toute la Demeure et tout ce qu’elle contient: il sera responsable du sanctuaire et de ses ustensiles.”
17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	17 Yahvé dit à Moïse et à Aaron:
18 'You must not let the group of Kohathite clans be lost to the rest of the Levites.	18 “Ne causez pas la perte d’une famille de Lévi, la tribu des Kahatites.
19 But deal with them in this way, so that they may survive and not incur death by approaching thosethings that are especial y holy. Aaron and his sons wil go in and assign to each of them his task and load,	19 Voici comment vous ferez pour qu’ils restent en vie et ne meurent pas quand ils s’approcheront des choses très saintes. Aaron et ses fils s’approcheront et fixeront à chacun d’entre eux son service et ce qu’il doit porter,
20 in such a way that they have no need to incur the death penalty by going in and setting eyes on theholy things, even for an instant.'	20 mais ils n’entreront pas, ne serait-ce qu’un instant, pour voir les choses saintes; autrement ils mourraient.”
21 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	21 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
22 'Take a census of the Gershonites by families and clans, too:	22 “Compte les fils de Guerchon selon leurs clans et leurs familles.
23 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, who will have their dutiesin the Tent of Meeting.	23 Tu les compteras à partir de l’âge de 30 ans et au-dessus, jusqu’à l’âge de 50 ans; tous ceux-ci auront à remplir un service, une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
24 'These are the duties of the Gershonite clans, their functions and their loads.	24 Voici quel sera le service des familles Guerchonites, ce qu’elles auront à faire et à porter.
25 They wil carry the curtaining of the Dwel ing, the Tent of Meeting with its covering and the covering offine leather that goes over it, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 Leurs fils porteront les tentures de la Demeure, la Tente du Rendez-Vous, sa couverture et la couverture de peau de poisson qui se place par-dessus, le rideau qui est à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous,

Vous leur confierez tout ce qu’ils auront à porter.
28 Such are the duties of the Gershonite clans in the Tent of Meeting. Their work wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.	28 Voilà le service des familles des Guerchonites pour la Tente du Rendez-Vous. Ils rempliront ce service sous la direction d’Itamar, fils d’Aaron le prêtre.
29 'You will take a census of the Merarites by clans and families.	29 Tu compteras les fils de Mérari selon leurs familles et leurs clans.
30 You will take a census of al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service,who wil have their duties in the Tent of Meeting.	30 Tu les compteras depuis l’âge de 30 ans et au-dessus, jusqu’à l’âge de 50 ans; tous ceux-ci auront un service à remplir, une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
31 'The load they carry and the duties incumbent on them in the Tent of Meeting will be as fol ows: theframework of the Dwel ing, its cross-bars, poles and sockets,	31 Voici ce qui leur sera confié, ce qu’ils auront à transporter de la Tente du Rendez-Vous: les planches de la Demeure, les traverses, les colonnes et leur support,
32 the poles round the court with their sockets, pegs, cords and al their tackle. You wil draw up a list oftheir names with the loads for which each is responsible.	32 les colonnes qui entourent la cour et leur support, les piquets et les cordes, tous les accessoires et tout ce qui sert à les monter. 33 'Such are the duties of the Merarite clans. Al their duties in the Tent of Meeting wil be supervised byIthamar, son of Aaron the priest.'	33 Voilà quel sera le service des familles des Mérarites pour la Tente du Rendez-Vous, sous les ordres d’Itamar, fils d’Aaron le prêtre.”
34 Moses, Aaron and the leaders of the community took a census of the Kohathites by clans andfamilies:	34 Moïse et Aaron, et les chefs de la communauté, recensèrent donc les fils de Kahat, selon leurs familles et leurs clans.
35 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent ofMeeting.	35 Tous ceux qui avaient 30 ans et au-delà, jusqu’à l’âge de 50 ans, avaient une charge, un service dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
36 The number of men counted in their clans came to two thousand seven hundred and fifty.	36 On les recensa par familles: ils étaient 2 750.
37 Such was the total number of men in the Kohathite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding through Moses.	37 Voilà ceux qui furent recensés par famille, chez les Kahatites, tous ceux qui avaient une charge dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous: Moïse et Aaron les recensèrent selon l’ordre que Yahvé avait donné par la voix de Moïse.
38 A census was taken of the Gershonites by clans and families:	38 Ceux qu’on avait recensés parmi les fils de Guerchon, par famille et par clan,
39 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent ofMeeting.	39 de 30 à 50 ans, tous ceux qui avaient une charge dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous,
40 The number of men counted in their clans and families came to two thousand six hundred and thirty.	40 étaient au nombre de 2 630.
41 Such was the total number of men in the Gershonite clans who were eligible for duties in the Tent ofMeeting, and whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's bidding.	41 Voilà ceux que l’on recensa chez les familles Guerchonites, tous ceux qui avaient une charge dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, Moïse et Aaron les recensèrent sur l’ordre de Yahvé.
42 A census was taken of the Merarite clans by clans and families:	42 On recensa chez les Mérarites par famille et par clan,
43 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for military service, for duties in the Tent of Meeting.	43 à partir de l’âge de 30 ans et au-delà jusqu’à l’âge de 50 ans, tous ceux qui avaient une charge, un service, dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
44 The number of men counted in their clans came to three thousand two hundred.	44 On les recensa par familles: ils étaient 3 200.
45 Such was the total number of men in the Merarite clans, whom Moses and Aaron counted atYahweh's bidding through Moses.	45 Voilà ceux que l’on recensa par famille chez les Mérarites. Moïse et Aaron les recensèrent comme Yahvé l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
46 The total number of Levites whom Moses, Aaron and the leaders of Israel counted in their clans andfamilies,	46 Moïse et Aaron, aidés par les chefs d’Israël, recensèrent chez les Lévites, par familles et par clans,
47 al the men between thirty and fifty years of age, eligible for religious duties and for those oftransporting the Tent of Meeting	47 tous ceux qui, âgés de 30 à 50 ans, avaient la charge de transporter la Tente du Rendez-Vous:
48 came to eight thousand five hundred and eighty.	48 ils étaient 8 580.
49 At Yahweh's bidding through Moses, a census was taken of them and each man was assigned hisduty and load. And so the census was conducted by Moses as Yahweh had ordered him.	49 Sur l’ordre de Yahvé, on recensa chacun selon son service et ce qu’il devait porter. Le recensement est celui que Yahvé avait ordonné à Moïse.
