Amos 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Listen, Israelites, to this prophecy which Yahweh pronounces against you, against the whole familywhich I brought up from Egypt:	1 - Udite questa parola che il Signore ha pronunziato sopra di voi, o figli d'Israele, e sopra tutta la famiglia che ho condotto fuori dalla terra di Egitto.
2 You alone have I intimately known of all the families of earth, that is why I shal punish you for al yourwrong-doings.	2 I soli che io abbia riconosciuti miei, di tutte le famiglie della terra, siete voi; perciò su di voi farò la disamina di tutte le vostre iniquità.
3 Do two people travel together unless they have agreed to do so?	3 Faranno mai strada assieme due, se non s'è convenuto tra loro?
4 Does the lion roar in the forest if it has no prey? Does the young lion growl in his lair if it has caughtnothing?	4 Ruggirà il leone nella foresta, senza avere la preda? E la belva manderà dalla tana la sua voce, senza che prenda niente?
5 Does a bird fall on the ground in a net unless a trap has been set for it? Will the net spring up from theground without catching something?	5 L'uccello cascherà mai a terra sul laccio, se non vi ha l'uccellatore? O si leverà da terra il laccio prima che abbia fatto la presa?
6 Does the trumpet sound in the city without the people being alarmed? Does misfortune come to a city ifYahweh has not caused it?	6 La tromba squillerà forse nella città, senza che il popolo si spaventi? E ci sarà nella città sciagura, ove non sia il Signore che operi?
7 No indeed, Lord Yahweh does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.	7 Perchè il Signore Dio non opera cosa alcuna senza che ne riveli il segreto ai suoi servi, i profeti.
8 The lion roars: who is not afraid? Lord Yahweh has spoken: who will not prophesy?	8 Il leone ha ruggito, chi non tremerà? Il Signore Dio ha parlato, chi non profeterà?
9 From the palace roofs of Assyria and from the palace roofs of Egypt, proclaim aloud, 'Assemble on thehil s of Samaria and observe the grave disorders inside her and the acts of oppression there!'	9 Fatelo sentire sopra i palazzi di Azoto, e sopra i palazzi della terra di Egitto e dite: "Radunatevi sui monti di Samaria! E guardate gli eccessi gravi che si commettono in mezzo ad essa, e quanti sono quelli che soffrono a torto dentro alle sue stanze!".
10 Little they know of right conduct -declares Yahweh- who cram their palaces with violence andextortion.	10 Ove l'operare rettamente non è più conosciuto, dice il Signore, da costoro che ammassano nelle loro case tesori di iniquità e di rapina. -
11 This is why -- Lord Yahweh says this- an enemy will soon besiege the land, he wil bring down yourstrength and your palaces wil be looted.	11 Perciò, così dice il Signore: - La terra sarà stretta dal nemico e aggirata, e la tua forza ti sarà strappata, e saranno saccheggiati i tuoi palazzi. -
12 Yahweh says this: As the shepherd rescues two legs or the tip of an ear from the lion's mouth, so wilthe children of Israel be salvaged who now lol in Samaria in the corners of their beds, on their divans ofDamascus.	12 Così dice il Signore: - A quel modo che un pastore salva dalla bocca del leone due garretti o la estremità di un'orecchia, così si salveranno i figli d'Israele, coloro che in Samaria poltriscono nel fondo di un divano o in un seggiolone di Damasco.
13 Listen and testify against the House of Jacob -declares the Lord Yahweh, God Sabaoth-	13 Ascoltate e testificatelo alla casa di Giacobbe, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti,
14 the day when I punish Israel for his crimes I shal also punish the altars of Bethel; the horns of thealtar wil be hacked off and wil fal to the ground.	14 chè il giorno, quando intraprenderò la mia visita sui misfatti di Israele, farò vendetta sopra di lui e sopra gli altari di Betel, e troncherò le corna dell'altare;
15 I shall blast winter house with summer house, ivory houses wil be destroyed and many mansionscease to be -declares Yahweh.	15 e abbatterò la casa d'inverno sulla casa d'estate; e rovineranno le stanze incrostate d'avorio, e i numerosi edifizi saranno distrutti, - dice il Signore.
