Amos 3

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Listen, Israelites, to this prophecy which Yahweh pronounces against you, against the whole familywhich I brought up from Egypt:	1 FIGLIUOLI d’Israele, udite questa parola, che il Signore ha pronunziata contro a voi; contro a tutta la nazione che io trassi fuor del paese di Egitto, dicendo:
2 You alone have I intimately known of all the families of earth, that is why I shal punish you for al yourwrong-doings.	2 Voi soli ho conosciuti d’infra tutte le nazioni della terra; perciò, farò punizione sopra voi di tutte le vostre iniquità.
3 Do two people travel together unless they have agreed to do so?	3 Due cammineranno essi insieme, se prima non si son convenuti l’uno con l’altro?
4 Does the lion roar in the forest if it has no prey? Does the young lion growl in his lair if it has caughtnothing?	4 Il leone ruggirà egli nel bosco, senza che egli abbia alcuna preda? il leoncello darà egli fuori la sua voce dal suo ricetto, senza che prenda nulla?
5 Does a bird fall on the ground in a net unless a trap has been set for it? Will the net spring up from theground without catching something?	5 L’uccello caderà egli nel laccio in terra, se non gli è stato teso alcuna rete? il laccio sarà egli levato da terra, senza aver preso nulla?
6 Does the trumpet sound in the city without the people being alarmed? Does misfortune come to a city ifYahweh has not caused it?	6 La tromba sonerà ella nella città, senza che il popolo accorra tutto spaventato? saravvi alcun male nella città, che il Signore non l’abbia fatto?
7 No indeed, Lord Yahweh does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.	7 Perciocchè il Signore Iddio non fa nulla, ch’egli non abbia rivelato il suo segreto a’ profeti, suoi servitori.
8 The lion roars: who is not afraid? Lord Yahweh has spoken: who will not prophesy?	8 Se il leone rugge, chi non temerà? se il Signore Iddio ha parlato, chi non profetizzerà?
9 From the palace roofs of Assyria and from the palace roofs of Egypt, proclaim aloud, 'Assemble on thehil s of Samaria and observe the grave disorders inside her and the acts of oppression there!'	9 Bandite sopra i palazzi di Asdod, e sopra i castelli del paese di Egitto, e dite: Radunatevi sopra i monti di Samaria, e vedete i gran disordini che sono in mezzo di essa; e gli oppressati che son dentro di essa.
10 Little they know of right conduct -declares Yahweh- who cram their palaces with violence andextortion.	10 Essi non sanno operar dirittamente, dice il Signore; essi, che fanno tesoro di violenza, e di rapina nei lor palazzi.
11 This is why -- Lord Yahweh says this- an enemy will soon besiege the land, he wil bring down yourstrength and your palaces wil be looted.	11 Perciò, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Ecco il nemico; egli è d’intorno al paese, e trarrà giù da te la tua forza, e i tuoi palazzi saranno predati.
12 Yahweh says this: As the shepherd rescues two legs or the tip of an ear from the lion's mouth, so wilthe children of Israel be salvaged who now lol in Samaria in the corners of their beds, on their divans ofDamascus.	12 Così ha detto il Signore: Come il pastore riscuote dalla bocca del leone due garetti, od un pezzo d’orecchio, così scamperanno i figliuoli d’Israele, che abitano in Samaria, in un canto di letto, o nelle cortine di una lettiera.
13 Listen and testify against the House of Jacob -declares the Lord Yahweh, God Sabaoth-	13 Ascoltate, e protestate contro alla casa di Giacobbe, dice il Signore Iddio, l’Iddio degli eserciti:
14 the day when I punish Israel for his crimes I shal also punish the altars of Bethel; the horns of thealtar wil be hacked off and wil fal to the ground.	14 Che nel giorno che io farò punizione sopra Israele dei suoi misfatti, farò ancora punizione sopra gli altari di Betel. E le corna dell’altare saranno mozzate, e caderanno in terra.
15 I shall blast winter house with summer house, ivory houses wil be destroyed and many mansionscease to be -declares Yahweh.	15 E percoterò le case del verno, insieme con le case della state; e le case d’avorio saranno distrutte, e le case grandi periranno, dice il Signore
