1 'At that time Michael wil arise -- the great Prince, defender of your people. That wil be a time of greatdistress, unparal eled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, your own people wil bespared -- al those whose names are found written in the Book.	1 - Ma in quel tempo sorgerà Michele, il principe grande che sta alla difesa dei figli del tuo popolo, e verrà un tempo quale mai non fu dacchè cominciarono le genti ad esistere fino allora. E in quel tempo, sarà salvato il tuo popolo, chiunque sarà trovato scritto nel libro.
2 'Of those who are sleeping in the Land of Dust, many wil awaken, some to everlasting life, some toshame and everlasting disgrace.	2 E quei molti che riposano nella polvere della terra si risveglieranno, altri per la vita eterna e altri per la confusione che sempre vedranno con sè.
3 Those who are wise wil shine as brightly as the expanse of the heavens, and those who haveinstructed many in uprightness, as bright as stars for al eternity.	3 Coloro che saranno stati saggi rifulgeranno come il fulgore del firmamento e quelli che istruiscono molti alla giustizia, saranno come astri nell'eternità senza fine.
4 'But you, Daniel, must keep these words secret and keep the book sealed until the time of the End.Many wil roam about, this way and that, and wickedness wil continue to increase.'	4 Or tu, o Daniele, chiudi le parole e suggella il libro fino al tempo determinato; molti lo scorreranno e la scienza avrà accrescimento. -
5 I, Daniel, then looked and saw two other people standing, one on the near bank of the river, the otheron the far.	5 Frattanto, io, Daniele, ecco che, vidi comparire fermi altri due, uno di qua, sulla riva del fiume, e l'altro sull'opposta sponda.
6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen who was standing further up the stream, 'How long untilthese wonders take place?'	6 E dissi all'uomo, vestito di lino che stava presso le acque del fiume: - Quando sarà il termine fisso di queste cose portentose? -
7 I heard the man speak who was dressed in linen, standing further up the stream: he raised his righthand and his left to heaven and swore by him who lives for ever, 'A time and two times, and half a time; and althese things wil come true, once the crushing of the holy people's power is over.'	7 E udii l'uomo vestito di lino che stava presso le acque del fiume, il quale alzata la destra e la sinistra mano verso il cielo, e avendo giurato per colui che vive in eterno, disse: - In un tempo, in più tempi e in metà d'un tempo. E quando sarà compiuta la dispersione della potestà del popolo santo, si compiranno tutte queste cose. -
8 I listened but did not understand. I then said, 'My lord, what is to be the outcome?'	8 Io udii ma non compresi. E dissi: - Signore, che sarà dopo queste cose? -
9 'Go, Daniel,' he said. 'These words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the End.	9 Mi disse: - Vai pure, Daniele, perchè restano chiuse e suggellate le parole fino al tempo determinato.
10 Many wil be cleansed, made white and purged; the wicked will persist in doing wrong; the wicked willnever understand; those who are wise wil understand.	10 Molti saranno eletti, purificati, e quasi raffinati al fuoco, e gli empi agiranno da tempi, e tutti gli empi non comprenderanno ma i saggi comprenderanno.
11 From the moment that the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the appal ing abomination set up: athousand two hundred and ninety days.	11 E dal tempo in cui sarà abolito il sacrificio perenne e sarà collocata l'abominazione della desolazione passeranno milleduecentonovanta giorni,
12 Blessed is he who perseveres and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.	12 Beato chi aspetta e giunge fino a milletrecentotrentacinque giorni!
13 But you, go away and rest; and you wil rise for your reward at the end of time.'	13 E tu va' al termine segnato e abbi riposo e restatene alla sorte che ti aspetta per la fine dei giorni -». Questi due capitoli sono apocrifi
