Daniel 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'At that time Michael wil arise -- the great Prince, defender of your people. That wil be a time of greatdistress, unparal eled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, your own people wil bespared -- al those whose names are found written in the Book.	1 «En aquel tiempo surgirá Miguel, el gran Príncipe que defiende a los hijos de tu pueblo. Será aquél un tiempo de angustia como no habrá habido hasta entonces otro desde que existen las naciones. En aquel tiempo se salvará tu pueblo: todos los que se encuentren inscritos en el Libro.
2 'Of those who are sleeping in the Land of Dust, many wil awaken, some to everlasting life, some toshame and everlasting disgrace.	2 Muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra se despertarán, unos para la vida eterna, otros para el oprobio, para el horror eterno.
3 Those who are wise wil shine as brightly as the expanse of the heavens, and those who haveinstructed many in uprightness, as bright as stars for al eternity.	3 Los doctos brillarán como el fulgor del firmamento, y los que enseñaron a la multitud la justicia, como las estrellas, por toda la eternidad.
4 'But you, Daniel, must keep these words secret and keep the book sealed until the time of the End.Many wil roam about, this way and that, and wickedness wil continue to increase.'	4 «Y tú, Daniel, guarda en secreto estas palabras y sella el libro hasta el tiempo del Fin. Muchos andarán errantes acá y allá, y la iniquidad aumentará».
5 I, Daniel, then looked and saw two other people standing, one on the near bank of the river, the otheron the far.	5 Yo, Daniel, miré y vi a otros dos que estaban de pie a una y otra parte del río.
6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen who was standing further up the stream, 'How long untilthese wonders take place?'	6 Uno de ellos dijo al hombre vestido de lino que estaba sobre las aguas del río: «¿Cuándo será el cumplimiento de estas maravillas?»
7 I heard the man speak who was dressed in linen, standing further up the stream: he raised his righthand and his left to heaven and swore by him who lives for ever, 'A time and two times, and half a time; and althese things wil come true, once the crushing of the holy people's power is over.'	7 Y oí al hombre vestido de lino, que estaba sobre las aguas del río, jurar, levantando al cielo la mano derecha y la izquierda, por Aquel que vive eternamente: «Un tiempo, tiempos y medio tiempo, y todas estas cosas se cumplirán cuando termine el quebrantamiento de la fuerza del Pueblo santo».
8 I listened but did not understand. I then said, 'My lord, what is to be the outcome?'	8 Yo oí, pero no comprendí. Luego dije: «Señor mío, ¿cuál será la última de estas cosas?»
9 'Go, Daniel,' he said. 'These words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the End.	9 Dijo: «Anda, Daniel, porque estas palabras están cerradas y selladas hasta el tiempo del Fin.
10 Many wil be cleansed, made white and purged; the wicked will persist in doing wrong; the wicked willnever understand; those who are wise wil understand.	10 Muchos serán lavados, blanqueados y purgados; los impíos seguirán haciendo el mal; ningún impío comprenderá nada; sólo los doctos comprenderán.
11 From the moment that the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the appal ing abomination set up: athousand two hundred and ninety days.	11 Contando desde el momento en que sea abolido el sacrificio perpetuo e instalada la abominación de la desolación: mil doscientos noventa días.
12 Blessed is he who perseveres and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.	12 Dichoso aquel que sepa esperar y alcance mil trescientos treinta y cinco días.
13 But you, go away and rest; and you wil rise for your reward at the end of time.'	13 Y tú, vete a descansar; te levantarás para recibir tu suerte al Fin de los días».
