Daniel 12

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 'At that time Michael wil arise -- the great Prince, defender of your people. That wil be a time of greatdistress, unparal eled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, your own people wil bespared -- al those whose names are found written in the Book.	1 Or in quel tempo si leverà Micael, quel gran principe, che sta per li figliuoli del tuo popolo; e vi sarà un tempo di distretta, quel non fu giammai, da che questo popolo è stato nazione, fino a quel tempo; ed in quel tempo d’infra il tuo popolo sarà salvato chiunque si troverà scritto nel libro.
2 'Of those who are sleeping in the Land of Dust, many wil awaken, some to everlasting life, some toshame and everlasting disgrace.	2 E la moltitudine di quelli che dormono nella polvere della terra si risveglierà; gli uni a vita eterna, e gli altri a vituperii, e ad infamia eterna.
3 Those who are wise wil shine as brightly as the expanse of the heavens, and those who haveinstructed many in uprightness, as bright as stars for al eternity.	3 E gl’intendenti risplenderanno come lo splendor della distesa; e quelli che avranno giustificati molti, risplenderanno come le stelle in sempiterno.
4 'But you, Daniel, must keep these words secret and keep the book sealed until the time of the End.Many wil roam about, this way and that, and wickedness wil continue to increase.'	4 Or tu, Daniele, serra queste parole, e suggella questo libro, infino al tempo della fine; allora molti andranno attorno, e la conoscenza sarà accresciuta
5 I, Daniel, then looked and saw two other people standing, one on the near bank of the river, the otheron the far.	5 Poi io Daniele riguardai, ed ecco, altri due, che stavano ritti in piè; l’uno di qua sopra l’una delle ripe del fiume; l’altro di là, sopra l’altra.
6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen who was standing further up the stream, 'How long untilthese wonders take place?'	6 E l’uno d’essi disse all’uomo vestito di panni lini, il quale era sopra le acque del fiume: Quando sarà infine il compimento di queste maraviglie?
7 I heard the man speak who was dressed in linen, standing further up the stream: he raised his righthand and his left to heaven and swore by him who lives for ever, 'A time and two times, and half a time; and althese things wil come true, once the crushing of the holy people's power is over.'	7 Ed io udii l’uomo vestito di panni lini, ch’era sopra le acque del fiume, il quale, levata la man destra, e la sinistra, al cielo, giurò per Colui che vive in eterno, che tutte queste cose sarebbero compiute, infra un tempo, de’ tempi, e la metà di un tempo; ed allora che colui avrebbe finito di dissipar le forze del popolo santo.
8 I listened but did not understand. I then said, 'My lord, what is to be the outcome?'	8 Ed io udii ben ciò, ma non l’intesi. E dissi: Signor mio, qual sarà la fine di queste cose?
9 'Go, Daniel,' he said. 'These words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the End.	9 Ed egli mi disse: Va’, Daniele; perciocchè queste parole son nascoste, e suggellate, infino al tempo della fine.
10 Many wil be cleansed, made white and purged; the wicked will persist in doing wrong; the wicked willnever understand; those who are wise wil understand.	10 Molti saranno purificati, e imbiancati, e posti al cimento; ma gli empi opereranno empiamente; e niuno degli empi intenderà queste cose: ma gli intendenti le intenderanno.
11 From the moment that the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the appal ing abomination set up: athousand two hundred and ninety days.	11 Ora, del tempo che sarà stato tolto il sacrificio continuo, e sarà stata posta l’abbominazione desertante, vi saranno mille dugennovanta giorni.
12 Blessed is he who perseveres and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.	12 Beato chi aspetterà pazientemente, e giungerà a mille trecentrentacinque giorni!
13 But you, go away and rest; and you wil rise for your reward at the end of time.'	13 Ma quant’è a te, vattene al tuo fine; or tu avrai riposo, e dimorerai nella tua condizione fino alla fine de’ tuoi dì
