Jeremiah 52

NEW JERUSALEM	Sacra Bibbia Garofalo
1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.	1 Sedecia aveva ventun anno quando divenne re e regnò undici anni a Gerusalemme; sua madre si chiamava Khamital, figlia di Geremia, da Libna.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.	2 Egli fece il male agli occhi di Jahvè, secondo tutto ciò che aveva fatto Joakim.
3 That this should happen to Jerusalem and Judah was due to Yahweh's anger, resulting in his castingthem away from his presence. Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.	3 Invero, a causa dell’ira di Jahvè, a Gerusalemme e in Giuda le cose arrivarono a tal punto che Jahvè li cacciò dal suo cospetto. Sedecia, poi, si ribellò contro il re di Babilonia.
4 In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon advanced on Jerusalem with his entire army; he pitched camp in front of the city and threw upearthworks round it.	4 Allora, nell’anno nono del suo regno, nel decimo mese, il dieci del mese, venne Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, con tutto l’esercito, contro Gerusalemme. Costoro le si accamparono intorno e le costruirono tutto intorno opere d’assedio.
5 The city lay under siege till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.	5 La città rimase assediata fino all’undecimo anno del re Sedecia.
6 In the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when famine was raging in the city and there was nofood for the populace,	6 Nel quarto mese, il nove del mese, la fame dominava nella città perché non c’era più pane per il popolo della terra,
7 a breach was made in the city wal . The king and al the fighting men then fled, leaving the city undercover of dark, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah.	7 fu aperta una breccia in città. Allora tutti i soldati fuggirono, uscendo dalla città di notte per la via della Porta fra le due mura, la quale era sul giardino del re e, mentre i Caldei erano tutt’intorno alla città, presero la via dell’Araba.
8 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, where allhis troops deserted.	8 I soldati dei Caldei inseguirono il re e lo raggiunsero nelle steppe di Gerico; allora tutto l’esercito di questo si disperse e lo abbandonò.
9 But the Chaldaeans captured the king and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory ofHamath, where he passed sentence on him.	9 Il re fu preso e condotto dal re di Babilonia a Ribla nel paese di Hamat, e costui pronunciò la sentenza contro di lui.
10 He had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes; he also had all the chief men of Judah put todeath at Riblah.	10 Il re di Babilonia uccise i figli di Sedecia sotto i suoi occhi e uccise anche tutti i capi di Giuda in Ribla;

12 In the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month -- it was in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzarking of Babylon -- Nebuzaradan commander of the guard, a member of the king of Babylon's staff, enteredJerusalem.	12 Ora, nel quinto mese, il dieci del mese, era l’anno decimonono del re Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, Nabuzardan, capo delle guardie, che prestava servizio alla presenza del re di Babilonia, entrò a Gerusalemme.
13 He burnt down the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and al the houses in Jerusalem.	13 Egli bruciò il tempio di Jahvè e la reggia del re e tutte le case di Gerusalemme; diede alle fiamme tutte le case di lusso.
14 The Chaldaean troops who accompanied the commander of the guard demolished al the wal ssurrounding Jerusalem.	14 E tutto l’esercito dei Caldei, che era con il capo delle guardie, abbatté tutte le mura intorno a Gerusalemme.
15 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported (some of the poor people and) the remainder of thepopulation left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the artisans.	15 Il resto del popolo che era stato lasciato in città, quanti erano passati disertori al re di Babilonia e il resto degli artigiani, Nabuzardan, capo delle guardie, deportò,

17 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took al the bronze away to Babylon.	17 I Caldei fecero a pezzi le colonne di bronzo che erano nel tempio di Jahvè, le basi e il mare di bronzo che era nel tempio di Jahvè, e asportarono tutto il loro bronzo in Babilonia.
18 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the sprinkling bowls, the incense bowls,and all the bronze furnishings used in worship.	18 Essi presero ancora le caldaie, le palette, i coltelli, i bacini, le coppe e tutte le suppellettili di bronzo che servivano al culto.
19 The commander of the guard also took the bowls, the censers, the sprinkling bowls, the ashcontainers, the lamp-stands, the goblets and the saucers: everything that was made of gold and everythingmade of silver.	19 Il capo delle guardie prese ancora i bicchieri, i bracieri, i bacini, le caldaie, i candelabri, le coppe e i calici, tutto ciò che era d’oro puro e tutto ciò che era d'argento puro.
20 As regards the two pil ars, the one Sea, the twelve bronze oxen supporting the Sea, and the wheeledstands, which King Solomon had made for the Temple of Yahweh, there was no reckoning the weight of bronzein all these objects.	20 Quanto alle due colonne, all’unico mare, ai dodici buoi di bronzo che erano sotto di esso, e alle basi, tutto opera del re Salomone per il tempio di Jahvè, non si poteva calcolare il peso del loro bronzo, cioè di tutte queste suppellettili.
21 As regards the pil ars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, its circumference was twelvecubits, it was four fingers thick, and hol ow inside;	21 Delle colonne, poi, ciascuna era alta diciotto cubiti e ci voleva un filo di dodici cubiti per circondarla; il suo spessore era di quattro dita, essendo vuota nell’interno.
22 on it stood a capital of bronze, the height of the capital being five cubits; round the capital were filigreeand pomegranates, al in bronze. So also for the second pil ar.	22 Su di essa Cera un capitello di bronzo, l’altezza di ogni capitello era di cinque cubiti; tutto intorno al capitello c’erano una rete e melegrane, tutto di bronzo; così era pure l’altra colonna.
23 There were ninety-six pomegranates round the sides, making a hundred pomegranates round thefiligree in al .	23 Le melegrane erano novantasei orizzontalmente; tutte le melegrane intorno alla rete ammontavano a cento.
24 The commander of the guard took prisoner Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest next in rank,and the three guardians of the threshold.	24 Il capo delle guardie prese Seraia, sacerdote capo, e Sofonia, sacerdote in seconda insieme con tre custodi della soglia.
25 In the city he took prisoner an official who was in command of the fighting men, seven of the king'spersonal friends who were discovered in the city, the secretary to the army commander responsible for militaryconscription, and sixty men of distinction discovered in the city.	25 Dalla città egli prese un eunuco, che era capo dei soldati, e sette uomini fra i più intimi del re, i quali furono trovati in città; e il segretario del capo dell’esercito, il quale arruolava il popolo della terra, oltre sessanta uomini del popolo della terra, che furono trovati in mezzo alla città.
26 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard took these men and brought them to the king of Babylon atRiblah,	26 Nabuzardan, capo delle guardie, li prese e li condusse al re di Babilonia, a Ribla.
27 and at Riblah, in the territory of Hamath, the king of Babylon had them put to death. Thus Judah wasdeported from its country.	27 E il re di Babilonia li colpì e li uccise a Ribla, nel paese di Hamat. Così fu deportato Giuda dalla sua terra.
28 The number of people deported by Nebuchadnezzar was as fol ows. In the seventh year: threethousand and twenty-three Judaeans;	28 Questo è il popolo che Nabucodonosor deportò: l’anno settimo tremilaventitrè Giudei;
29 in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, eight hundred and thirty-two persons were deported fromJerusalem;	29 nell’anno decimo ottavo di Nabucodonosor furono deportati da Gerusalemme ottocentotrentadue persone;
30 in the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported sevenhundred and forty-five Judaeans. In al : four thousand six hundred persons.	30 nell’anno ventitrè di Nabucodonosor, Nabuzardan, capo delle guardie, deportò settecentoquarantacinque Giudei: in tutto quattromilaseicento persone.
31 But in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on thetwenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year he came to the throne, pardonedJehoiachin king of Judah and released him from prison.	31 Ora, nell’anno trentasette della deportazione di Joachin, re di Giuda, nel decimo secondo mese, il venticinque del mese, avvenne che Evil-Merodach, re di Babilonia, nell’anno dell’inizio del suo regno, fece grazia a Joachin, re di Giuda, e lo fece uscire dalla prigione.
32 He treated him kindly and allotted him a seat above those of the other kings who were with him inBabylon.	32 Gli parlò con benevolenza e pose il seggio di lui sopra i seggi dei re che si trovavano con lui a Babilonia.
33 So Jehoiachin laid aside his prisoner's garb and for the rest of his life always ate at the king's table.	33 Gli cambiò le vesti da prigioniero. Joachin mangiò sempre il pane con lui per tutti i giorni della sua vita.
34 And his upkeep was permanently ensured by the king, day after day, for the rest of his life until theday he died.	34 Il suo sostentamento, come sostentamento abituale, gli era fornito dal re di Babilonia giorno per giorno, fino al giorno della sua morte, tutti i giorni della sua vita.
