| 5 The city lay under siege till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah. | 5 ܘܥܠܬ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܫܢܬ ܚܕܥܣܪܐ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܨܕܩܝܐ |
| 6 In the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when famine was raging in the city and there was nofood for the populace, | 6 ܘܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܫܒܥܐ ܒܬܫܥܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܥܫܢ ܟܦܢܐ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܚܡܐ ܠܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ |
| 7 a breach was made in the city wal . The king and al the fighting men then fled, leaving the city undercover of dark, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah. | 7 ܘܐܬܬܪܥܬ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܩܪ̈ܒܬܢܐ ܥܪܩܘ ܘܢܦܩܘ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܬܪܥܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܫܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܓܢܬܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܘܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܟܪ̈ܝܟܝܢ ܥܠ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܦܩܥܬܐ |
| 8 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, where allhis troops deserted. | 8 ܘܪܕܦܘ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܒܬܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܕܪܟܘܗܝ ܠܨܕܩܝܐ ܒܦܩܥܬܐ ܕܐܝܪܝܚܘ ܘܟܠܗ ܚܝܠܗ ܐܬܒܕܪ ܡܢܗ |
| 9 But the Chaldaeans captured the king and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory ofHamath, where he passed sentence on him. | 9 ܘܐܚܕܘܗܝ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܘܐܣܩܘܗܝ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܠܕܒܠܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܚܡܬ ܘܡܠܠ ܥܡܗ ܕܝܢܐ |
| 10 He had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes; he also had all the chief men of Judah put todeath at Riblah. | 10 ܘܢܟܣ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܠܒܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܨܕܩܝܐ ܠܥܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܐܪ̈ܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܚܪܒ ܒܕܒܠܬ |

| 13 He burnt down the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and al the houses in Jerusalem. | 13 ܘܐܘܩܕ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܒ̈ܬܐ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܬ̈ܐ ܕܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܐܘܩܕܘ ܒܢܘܪܐ |
| 14 The Chaldaean troops who accompanied the commander of the guard demolished al the wal ssurrounding Jerusalem. | 14 ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܘܪ̈ܝܗ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܟܕ ܚܕܪܐ ܥܩܪܘ ܟܠܗ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܕܥܡ ܪܒ ܕܚܫ̈ܐ |
| 15 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard deported (some of the poor people and) the remainder of thepopulation left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the artisans. | 15 ܘܡܢ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪܘ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܕܥܪܩܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܫܒܐ ܢܒܘܙܪܕܢ |
| 16 But Nebuzaradan commander of the guard left some of the poor country-people behind as vineyardworkers and ploughmen. | 16 ܘܡܢ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܫܒܩ ܢܒܘܙܪܕܢ ܪܒ ܕܚܫ̈ܐ ܠܟܪ̈ܡܐ ܘܠܦܘܠܚܢܐ |
| 17 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took al the bronze away to Babylon. | 17 ܘܥܡ̈ܘܕܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܐ̈ܓܢܐ ܘܝܡܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܕܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܬܒܪܘ ܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܘܫܩܠܘ ܟܠܗ ܢܚܫܗܘܢ ܘܐܘܒܠܘܗܝ ܠܒܒܠ |
| 18 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the sprinkling bowls, the incense bowls,and all the bronze furnishings used in worship. | 18 ܘܩܕܣ̈ܐ ܘܐܝܪ̈ܐ ܘܩܪ̈ܕܠܐ ܘܫܚ̈ܠܐ ܘܟ̈ܦܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܕܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܢܣܒܘ |
| 19 The commander of the guard also took the bowls, the censers, the sprinkling bowls, the ashcontainers, the lamp-stands, the goblets and the saucers: everything that was made of gold and everythingmade of silver. | 19 ܘܩܛܪ̈ܘܩܐ ܘܦܝܪ̈ܡܐ ܘܡܫ̈ܠܘܬܐ ܘܩܕܣ̈ܐ ܘܡܙܡ̈ܟܐ ܘܡܢܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܟ̈ܦܐ ܘܡܢ̈ܩܝܬܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܘܕܣܐܡܐ ܘܢܣܒ ܪܒ ܕܚܫ̈ܐ |

| 21 As regards the pil ars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, its circumference was twelvecubits, it was four fingers thick, and hol ow inside; | 21 ܘܥܡ̈ܘܕܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܬܡܢܥܣܪܐ ܐ̈ܡܝܢ ܪܘܡܗ ܕܥܡܘܕܐ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܘܚܘܛܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܬܥܣܪܐ ܐ̈ܡܝܢ ܟܪܟ ܠܗ ܟܕ ܚܕܪ ܘܥܒܝܗ ܐܪ̈ܒܥ ܨܒ̈ܥܝܢ ܘܚܠܝܠ ܓܘܗ |
| 22 on it stood a capital of bronze, the height of the capital being five cubits; round the capital were filigreeand pomegranates, al in bronze. | 24 The commander of the guard took prisoner Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest next in rank,and the three guardians of the threshold. | 24 ܘܕܒܪ ܪܒ ܕܚܫ̈ܐ ܠܫܪܝܐ ܟܗܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܠܨܦܢܝܐ ܟܗܢܐ ܕܒܬܪܗ ܘܠܬܠܬܐ ܢܛܪ̈ܝ ܬܪ̈ܥܐ |

| 26 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard took these men and brought them to the king of Babylon atRiblah, | 26 ܘܕܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܢܒܘܙܪܕܢ ܪܒ ܕܚܫ̈ܐ ܘܐܘܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܠܕܒܠܬ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܚܡܬ |

| 32 He treated him kindly and allotted him a seat above those of the other kings who were with him inBabylon. | 32 ܘܡܠܠ ܥܡܗ ܫܦܝܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܐܪܡܝ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܠܥܠ ܡܢ ܟܘܪ̈ܣܘܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܥܡܗ ܒܒܒܠ |
| 33 So Jehoiachin laid aside his prisoner's garb and for the rest of his life always ate at the king's table. | 33 ܘܚܠܦ ܠܒ̈ܘܫܐ ܕܐܣܘܪܗ ܘܐܟܠ ܠܚܡܐ ܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܟܘܠ ܝܘܡ̈ܝ ܚܝ̈ܘܗܝ |
| 34 And his upkeep was permanently ensured by the king, day after day, for the rest of his life until theday he died. | 34 ܘܫܩܠܗ ܢܦܩ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܟܠ ܝܘܡ ܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܡܝܬ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘ̈ܡܝ ܚ̈ܝܘܗܝ |
