1 'The sin of Judah is written with an iron pen, engraved with a diamond point on the tablet of the heartand on the horns of their altars,	1 Il peccato di Giuda è scritto con stile di ferro e con punta di diamante, è impresso sulla tavola del loro cuore, sopra i corni dei loro altari.
2 while their children remember their altars and their sacred pole beside the green trees, on the lofty hil s.	2 Siccome i loro figli si son ricordati dei loro altari, dei loro boschi, delle ombrose piante sugli alti monti
3 My mountain on the plain, your wealth and all your treasures I shal hand over to be plundered,because of the sin of your high places throughout your territory.	3 sacrificano nei campi, io darò al saccheggio i tuoi beni, e tutti i tuoi tesori, i tuoi alti luoghi per i peccati, in tutto il tuo territorio,
4 You wil have to relinquish your heritage which I gave you; I wil enslave you to your enemies in acountry which you do not know, for my fiery anger kindled by you wil burn for ever.'	4 e tu resterai spogliata della tua eredità da me donata, ti farò serva dei tuoi nemici, in una terra a te ignota. Giacché hai fatto divampare il fuoco del mio furore, arderà eternamente.
5 Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strengthand whose heart turns from Yahweh.	5 Queste cose dice il Signore: Maledetto l'uomo che confida nell'uomo e si appoggia alla carne, e allontana il suo cuore dal Signore.
6 Such a person is like scrub in the wastelands: when good comes, it does not affect him since he livesin the parched places of the desert, uninhabited, salt land.	6 Egli sarà come un tamarisco nel deserto: non godrà il bene quando venga; ma starà nell'aridità del deserto, in terre salse e inabitabili.
7 'Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on.	7 Benedetto l'uomo che confida nel Signore, e di cui Dio sarà la speranza.
8 Such a person is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes ithas nothing to fear, its foliage stays green; untroubled in a year of drought, it never stops bearing fruit.	8 Egli sarà come albero piantato lungo le acque, che distende verso l'umore le sue radici e non temerà, venuto che sia il caldo. Le sue foglie saran verdeggianti, senza darsi pena della siccità, non cesserà mai di dar frutti.
9 'The heart is more devious than any other thing, and is depraved; who can pierce its secrets?	9 Tutti hanno un cuore malvagio e inscrutabile, chi lo potrà conoscere?
10 I, Yahweh, search the heart, test the motives, to give each person what his conduct and his actionsdeserve.	10 Ma io, il Signore, io scruto i cuori, io distinguo gli affetti, e dò a ciascuno secondo le sue opere, secondo il frutto dei suoi propositi.
11 'The partridge will hatch eggs it has not laid. 13 Yahweh, hope of Israel, al who abandon you wil be put to shame, those who turn from you wil beregistered in the underworld, since they have abandoned Yahweh, the fountain of living water.	13 o speranza d'Israele, o Signore, tutti quelli che t'abbandonano saran confusi, quelli che s'allontanano da te saranno scritti in terra; perchè hanno abbandonato la sorgente delle acque vive, il Signore.
14 Heal me, Yahweh, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shal be saved, for you are my praise.	14 Guariscimi, o Signore, e sarò guarito; salvami, e sarò salvato: la mia gloria sei tu.
15 Look, they keep saying to me, 'Where is Yahweh's word? Let it come true then!'	15 Ecco essi stanno a dirmi: — Dov'è la parola del Signore? S'adempia! —
16 Yet I have never urged you to send disaster, I never desired the fatal day, this you know; what camefrom my lips was not concealed from you.	16 Ma io non mi son turbato, seguendo te, mio pastore, e non ho desiderato, come tu sai, il giorno dell'uomo: quello che uscì dalle mie labbra fu retto dinanzi a te.
17 Do not be a terror to me, you, my refuge in time of disaster.	17 Non mi diventare causa di spavento tu, mia speranza nel giorno dell'afflizione.
18 Let my persecutors be confounded, not me, let them, not me, be terrified. On them bring the day ofdisaster, destroy them, destroy them twice over!	18 Sian confusi i miei persecutori e non io, tremino essi e non tremi io; fa piombare su di loro il giorno dell'afflizione, percuotili con doppio flagello.
19 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and stand at the Gate of the Sons of the People by which the kings ofJudah go in and out -- and at al the gates of Jerusalem.	19 Ecco quanto mi dice il Signore: « Va e fermati sulla porta dei figli del popolo, per la quale entrano ed escono i re di Giuda, e fermati su tutte le porte di Gerusalemme,
20 Say to them, "Listen to the word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, al you people of Judah too, and alyou inhabitants of Jerusalem who pass through the gates.	20 e dirai loro: — Ascoltate la parola del Signore, o re di Giuda, o Giuda tutto quanto, e voi tutti, o abitanti di Gerusalemme che entrate per queste porte.
21 Yahweh says this: As you value your lives, on no account carry a burden on the Sabbath day or bringit in through the gates of Jerusalem.	21 Queste cose dice il Signore: Abbiate cura delle anime vostre, e non portate pesi nel giorno di sabato, e non ne fate entrare per le porte di Gerusalemme;
22 Bring no burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, and do no work. Keep the Sabbath day holy,as I ordered your ancestors.	22 non fate uscire fardelli dalle vostre case nel giorno di sabato, e non fate verun lavoro; santificate il giorno di sabato come io ordinai ai vostri padri.
23 They would not hear, would not pay attention; they deliberately refused to listen or accept instruction.	23 Essi non diedero ascolto, non piegarono le loro orecchie, ma indurarono la loro cervice ostinandosi a non darmi ascolto, a non ricevere l'insegnamento.
24 But if you listen careful y to me, Yahweh declares, and bring no burden in through the gates of this cityon the Sabbath day, if you keep the Sabbath holy and do no work on that day,	24 Se voi mi ascolterete — dice il Signore — e non farete passare fardelli per le porte di questa città nel giorno di sabato, se santificherete il giorno di sabato e non farete in esso verun lavoro,
25 then, through the gates of this city, kings and princes occupying the throne of David wil continue tomake their entry, riding in chariots or on horseback, they, their chief men, the people of Judah and theinhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city wil be inhabited for ever.	25 per le porte di questa città entreranno i re e i principi assisi sul trono di David, sopra cocchi e cavalli, essi e i loro principi, gli uomini di Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, e questa città sarà abitata in eterno.
26 They wil come from the towns of Judah, from the districts round Jerusalem, from the territory ofBenjamin, from the lowlands, from the highlands, from the Negeb, to offer burnt offering and sacrifice, and cerealoffering and incense, to offer thanksgiving sacrifices in the Temple of Yahweh.	26 E verranno dalle città di Giuda e dai dintorni di Gerusalemme, dalla terra di Beniamino, dalle pianure, dai monti, dal Mezzogiorno, a portare olocausti e vittime, sacrifizi e incenso, a portare offerte nella casa del Signore.
27 But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to refrain from entering the gates ofJerusalem with burdens on the Sabbath day, then I shal set fire to its gates; fire wil devour the palaces ofJerusalem and not be quenched." '	27 Se poi non mi ascolterete, riguardo al santificare il giorno di sabato, al non portare pesi, al non farli passare per le porte di Gerusalemme nel giorno di sabato, io appiccherò il fuoco alle sue porte, e questo di vorerà le case di Gerusalemme e non si estinguerà mai ».
